      Same. I think we need a challenging class of raid built just for solo play. I think Rockets were intended to be that, but they aren’t difficult once you’re well equipped.

      In most games, end-game content is never solo-able at launch. The cycle is to learn the content with a group. Gear up from that content, which then leads to solo/low man.
      Some examples are pokemon go, wow, ff14, destiny, gw2.

    I think for Kanto starters we shouldve got a special research with a Gmax Starter which we then would use to beat its weakness then use that to get the other weakness ie Charizard to get Venusaur to get Blastoise.

    This is the most refreshing video on the dyna/gigantamax system.
    I did a G-max gengar with a healer/guard metagross, but 2 of my 4-man team brought only wooloos.
    I prepare for raids to help finish raids faster and to help smaller groups that may need an extra player or two.
    TL:DR : When people are rewarded by leeching off raids/max battles, they will never feel obligated to power up anything.

    Couldn't agree with you more on every point. Had so much fun. I can really only here the pleas of of rural players I suppose, but this brought my smaller community out and about so often, made it a real challenge and therefore a more fun experience. I also agree so heavily with the point about how large streamers were interacting with the system -- couldn't really believe it when I saw it. Thanks for the vid!

      I live in an area with about 100k people, and maybe 40 PoGO players (some with multiple accounts) that would consider meeting up for something like this. Today we had the most I've ever seen, at 33 accounts.
      Most are young adults, and everyone has conflicting schedules. It's hard to coordinate, but if no one tries, no one wins.

    "It was about as epic as tapping a phone screen can get!" I love this!
    I found your pointed rant about community engagement (willingness) to be satisfying. As a gamer coming from WoW, I hadn't thought about the similarity to MMORPG games that involve group strategy and planning, but I totally agree. I hosted 2 groups on Campfire, one yesterday and another today, and we were able to get the G-Max's down with 10 people by the end, although there were a lot of people cheering, lol. I found this a stark contrast to the previous weekend, where we banged out heads against the wall for hours, unable to get any done (Sunday was different - more people, more strategy, but I wasn't able to make it). Going from that to leading local groups wouldn't have been possible if not for that MMORPG experience, and something else? Persistence, perseverance, the expectation that failing a bunch of times is okay? I don't know what to call it, but this weekend, we weren't going to give up, and if anybody didn't want to interact with the group, that was totally fine. We actually always had people off on the sidelines playing "solo." Great perspective today. Thank you for this passionate content.
    While I will disagree with the multiple accounts, maybe Niantic could use the data they've collected to see how many players are in any given area, and add some NPC's that jump in with people during raids or G-Max battles? It would take some serious work for a feature like that, but it could be fun. Still, I've been rescued by trainers with multiple accounts enough times that I'm not going to look down on anybody.

      It was my experience from Destiny & Destiny 2 that directly lead me to where I am with the PoGO community around me now. Destiny required a smaller group (6), but MUCH more by-the-second coordination and a heavy time investment. It become unsustainable as our clan members started to build careers and families. It's funny, because playing GO gives me those little hits of nostalgia for my Destiny days.
      I had the same roll with Destiny as I do now with GO: provide strategic information and coordinate the group. It's a lot more people to manage, but a lot less strategy.
      I'm all for multi account users. If they can split their brain that way, power to the gamer. I haven't come across a single compelling reason for why it would be considered cheating, except from Niantic's POV where a single individual would technically get more "free" content.
      Even if they're kicking themselves out of gyms for coins, it's not much different from just coordinating with a friend/family member to do the same.
      I've thought about the NPC thing, too, like the mainline games have. I think it would unfortunately just take away from the point of getting a group together.
      Now that we're seeing groups of under 10 people (very well equipped), completing the battles, it proves that, given time, even small, dedicated communities can get it done.

      Personally, 2 accounts are a bit much but good for places with a lack of community, just to allow people to enjoy the game.
      I built a second account back in 2018 with the purpose of helping out people. After I built up the account to be a reliable attacker, the main use was to log on when stray people arrived late to a raid and missed the group.
      Haven't used the 2nd account since 2020.

    For the Charizard, Venusaur & Blastoise weekend, my mom and I joined a local group from Facebook, and won the battles pretty easily, since we were about 40 accounts on Saturday. On Sunday there were fewer people since many just took all three on Saturday and were fine with that. But we still succeeded with 19 people against a Charizard.
    For Gengar we met up with a smaller group and took it down with only 15 accounts (and some hadn’t even dynamaxed before). We were probably only able to win because of our prior experience and established strategy.

    When they introduced the remote pass, I started spending $100 weekly. We had 3 consistent players in our comm, unless we drive 40+ minutes to the city. So the 3 of us could invite up to 5 others and typically have 5-7 players in raids. It was the best. Then they nerfed the remote pass. Raised the price and limited the amount you can even use. Well its amazing how much money they have saved me by doing that. I was so addicted to playing it never bothered me I was spending a car payment on a game every month. But I was not the only one I was in groups from other countries. But sadly Niantic decided they did not like $ after all, so they killed our groups by killing remote content.

    I am fortunate to live in an area with an active community ambasador in Campfire. He has been posting group events that have brought large clusters of people to do the Giganttttttamax battles. Large enough that we encountered some police who feared we were forming up to riot. Groups over 140 eople. It feals a bit like I heard the first few weeks were like. I started the game in 2018, and getting a group of more than 20 together has been something of legend until Gigantamax. I don't know if this is sustainable, even in my active commuity area.

    there should have been progress with dynamax. going from 3star max battle that can be done solo to a 6star where 40 people fail is ridiculous. you need to let people build up a comfortable roster. it's like having primal raids in 2016... it would just be impossible. also raid days give you extra passes, this should have been done here as well. we get 800 to 1000 particles. i can power up pokemon and raid with different items. DM and GM you need to use the same. imagine you can power up your mewtwo only by feeding it a raid pass...

      I’ve been thinking about scaled difficulty as well, but I think they specifically want it to be a ‘meetup’ style event. I think they should have capped the players at 20 and just kept the difficulty, but roll it out slower. Seeing 40 people fail at it discouraged a lot of people. Even requiring just 12-16 people would probably be the sweet spot.

    I have mix feeling with max raids. That feature has a lot of potential and to be honest, I think it's already better than regular raids. It needs some strategy, coordination with other players and requires different amount of max particles to enter the raid, depending on the raid tier. Comparing to regular raids, where you just need some strong pokemon, mindlessly taping the screen and on top of that you use the same raid pass to get into the raid, despite its tier. At the same time I'm completely disappointed that my entire storage means nothing now. I've been playing since the very beginning of the game and there is nothing more discouraging to me than telling, that I have to start everything almost from scratch. Before, I was able to help casual players or new players with low level accounts to do the raids. Now, unless I powerup a pokemon that I don't want to powerup (because I already have it a hundo at Lv50, with a special move, max mega level etc.) my progress means nothing more than the progress on an account of a random kid that has started to play the game a week ago. I want max raids be the true end game content - even more difficult that the initial launch of gigantamax starters, but letting me go all out with all of my pokemon. Instead of being the team leader and helper, I've got nerfed into a newbie. I'm not gonna engage into that.

      @@PokeeSeanGO I am rather new (since this spring) but the part about the moveset the raid bosses have for maxraid to me should be fixed. If they want us to strategize to take them down (which I love btw) and then having to re-lobby to get poison attack for metagross to be the beast I want it to be ..... It is very very hard to coordinate with 20 people.
      And for the love of god please let me team up using party, I don't want to play with 2 randoms having underleveled wooloos ..... My lvl 3 shield doesn't matter much if the rest of the team cant do any damage!

      Totally agree. They should just use moves of their type and you should definitely be teamed with your party when joining. Greedent would have been the hero if Gengar was always using Ghost moves.

    its not end game content bcz anything you achieved during the game doesnt matter and same way you can start and be on higher level than end game account. Its just a new mechanic that doesnt match anything other from the game and is just so useless for whole game except this part of the game which most of the people cant even do bcz they live in smaller cities its insane to call it end game content xd

    • @PokeeSeanGO
      @PokeeSeanGO  2 місяці тому

      Many games require you to gear up for the endgame content after a new expansion drops. Pokémon are the weapons and armour of GO. The Max system is an expansion.
      It’s simplified, because GO is a dead simple game, but the concept is the same.
      A new raid boss introduced in the regular raid system that can be demolished by your existing roster of Pokémon isn’t even worth calling new content. It’s just a cosmetic.

      you might as well start your own army at that point.

      That’s sort of the thing about ‘end game’ content - it’s not for casual play. Any other game I’ve played, the end game required more from a player to complete.

      @PokeeSeanGO  2 місяці тому

      When a new expansion releases for a game, you generally need to gear up for the content. You don’t just walk into the final boss with your over-levelled character. In a game as simple and basic as GO, collecting and powering up new Pokémon is the bare minimum.

    • @PzaPolarBear
      @PzaPolarBear 2 місяці тому

      @PokeeSeanGO usually when a new expansion releases for a game, it's more than just of the previous content with something simple effects added. This is almost like a soft reboot, running in parallel with the original game. Sure. There's some new mechanics, but they weren't explained well in the game. It's like niantic just depends on the community to fill in all the blanks that they seem to not wanna bother with.

      I completely agree. It’s their idea of end game content. They’ve been shown to not have the best ideas.

    • @PokeeSeanGO
      @PokeeSeanGO  2 місяці тому +1

      The big thing they’re missing is the the ability to bring something from the expansion back into the main game content. I thought Gmax would have a perk, like Mega Pokémon, at minimum.
      Something like using MP to activate a Gmax Pokémon and give you a stat boost. Anything would have been nice. Just being a Pokedex entry is lame.

    Niantic bumps up the difficulty slightly and everyone loses their minds. Coming from an RPG fan I love the new battle system. Every game has an end game content and this is Niantics version of it. People don’t wanna spend their resources and be carried through the game. I’m just speaking about communities who have enough people and still couldn’t beat it. Excellent video!

      It's statistically unlikely that you'll catch every single raid boss you ever encounter, even if you always throw golden razz excellents. With only 10 balls for Gmax, and the way Premier balls work by slightly increasing your odds with each throw, it's no wonder we've heard of even the best players not catching every one. It's just a numbers game.

      Who cares if they can lucky trade every few months or so? Unless you Master league PVP this only benefits the community. Also real resources/time had to be invested on both accounts to even have legendaries to trade. I wouldn’t really call it cheating or a ban able offense

      So two people trading legendary shiny Pokémon in a lucky trade isn’t cheating, but two accounts used by the same person is? What’s the difference? Considering how little IVs matter, especially going from an IV floor of 10s to 12s, that can’t be it. The stardust discount is the only other advantage, and any trade can randomly go lucky to help with that.
