Great game. Playing a new DLC mod called "Olenveld". So many great expansion mods. - Clockwork, The Forgotten City, Falskaar, Beyond Skyrim-Bruma. Have fun in Tamriel.
I’m not a jealous person but I do envy you…to play Skyrim for the first time without any knowledge of the Elder Scrolls would be amazing! Following you now just to see how this plays out! Cheers!
The somewhat alien look of the elves is mostly due to the game's age, but I think it was a smart decision nevertheless. The ancient history of the world says that the race that eventually evolved into humans also interbred with the earliest form of elf, but the two groups have been biologically separate for millenia. For centuries, an elven empire enslaved all humans, then humans overthrew them and hunted several other species (both human and elf races) to extinction, and so on. While humans and elves have had a degree of enforced peace for the past several centuries (Pax Romana inspired) by the time of Skyrim the Empire's power is waning and the elves are on the rise again. Note that Skyrim and TES Online have done some retcons of older games and all in-game material is from the point of view of the specific author, so some lore is open to interpretation. Regarding 1st vs 3rd person view, 1st is better for archery, 3rd for group situations, especially when you have followers/ friendlies around, everything else is personal preference. For example, I like a stealthy playstyle so prefer 1st because it feels more realistic: if I hear something behind me I have to turn to look. 3rd feels to me more like a tactical view of a battlefield rather than an immersive RPG. That's purely my preference, though. I look forward to your future videos.
Wow, thank you so much for the info! And yeah, I'll definitely test out different play styles and see what I'm most comfortable with. I recorded the 2nd episode earlier today, and I'm really enjoying it so far!
I also like it because they really feel like a different race. I also don't think they look that weird. There are people that look kind of like that. They look like a very slightly exaggerated Jim Carrey or Willem Dafoe, for example.
The Elder Scrolls series has the best lore in all of gaming. You should definitely keep reading all the books you find! I like the way you cut it down, too, leaving only the essentials but giving a short summary of the book's contents. Keep it up!
Feel free to ignore my advice, but I have been playing this game for a long while. If you're inclined to carry a lot of gear around, pick things that you can either use, or those worth at least 5 gold per point of carry-weight. If you see something that has "Unknown" four times on it, it's an Alchemy ingredient. Very useful if you get to somewhere like the pub in Riverwood, or an alchemist's shop. Armour items that have a little triangle next to them in your inventory are better than the one you're carrying... unless you have used Smithing or there's an enchantment on it that the game doesn't have the intelligence to notice. Find a shrine to one of the gods when you hit Whiterun. There will be a little statue to pray to, and it'll give you a boost and clear most diseases. Most importantly, have fun.
Hi, just watched you start Skyrim. Your obviously putting this out there to check out the interest. I've no doubt this will be a huge hit. The tutorial is rather linear, but once the game starts proper it's still an absolutely incredible game, even after all these years. I hope this continues so I and we can all enjoy you experience it for the first time.
Our Friend-"Oh dear! What am i doing?" Us-"Bro! Did she just wipe out BOTH of thos Imperials in 4 swings?" Me-"Ohhhh! HEELLL YEEEEE guys! This lady is EPIC! 🥳" 😂
Fun elder scrolls lore fact; The god that the Orcs worship (Malacath) was created when another god eat a different god and then said god.. Let those remains out of his backside and those stinky remains formed into another god this god being Malacath (I am not making this up this is 100% a real thing in the lore)
All the Elder Scrolls games take place on the continent of Tamriel in the world of Nirn. The first four all take place within a few years of each other, but Skyrim takes place a couple hundred years after TES4. All but the first takes place in a different country in that world.
I appreciate that you pay attention to the game itself and what’s going on around your character. I am watching another channel that is on their sixth episode of playing Skyrim and many of us commenters are pointing out things that he is just ignoring or blasting past. It’s fun watch but also a bit annoying.
I saw ur name and wondered, that has to be a star wars reference right? and never have i ever been so quickly answered before in my life🤣 good luck with skyrim it's been a personal favorite forever
Skyrim is a trip, modded or unmodded. just live to play how you prefer to play. personally, I have a number of mods that change up how certain quest lines work, and some other things to up the carry weight and throw in a couple extra voiced followers. (If you do moddanything, I highly recommend at least a couple extra followers for some fun dialogue between them and vanilla npcs as well as a mod that allows you to have more than one follower at a time.
Lol, today I learn that Ralof actually waits for you to move your camera before talking to you, I had no idea, I've never left my camera still long enough to notice xD I always love how Ulfric doesn't make a single attempt to get his mouth free. Like it wouldn't even be hard!
@@I_Mark_Mills But he's about to be killed, freeing his mouth would give him a chance to kill imperials around him, there's literally no downside. Going down fighting also helps getting into Sovngard more than getting executed.
When Ralof and Hadvar have that exchange outside the Keep, I think on how they were probably childhood friends growing up together in Riverwood, before ending up on different sides of the war.
I'm curious what the statistics are between who follows Ralof or Hadvar. Other than being Imperial, Hadvar is really relatively kind in this intro and doesn't really want to see you dead despite what his command says. I don't even remember who I chose on my first time, probably Ralof too because he was closer. And yeah I got overburdened very fast also on my first time. Then you really start to learn what's worth carrying. What else is crazy is the set dressing in Bethesda games, there is stuff hidden ALL OVER. The nooks and crannies have constant little items hidden in them. By the nine, don't forget to save your game!
Could be construed as treasonous being an Imperial and then choosing to escape with the Storm cloaks, tbf though they were about to cut off her head so its understandable. Oblivion was the first Elder scrolls game i played but Skyrim is my favourite, its just sooooo broken the fun to be had is incredible. Iv been watching many Skyrim videos again recently, its been a few years now so i can feel myself coming back for another play through. Going to have to pick up an anniversary edition with Dawn guard and Hearth fire dlc , cant bring myself to make changes with mods as i love it to much. Keen to try the together multiplayer thingy as that i have not played. I have played it so much in the past that i spend most of my in game time looking for rare dialog or searching for npc or places iv not seen before or plain just forgotten. Enjoy Skyrim, in my opinion one of the greatest games ever made.
just started myself recently so its cool to follow :) goin vampire myself ps fun tip to easily get sneak before ya leave start area by the bear walk straight into wall autorun for 4 hrs and you are 100 sneak 😁
TES games all take place in the same setting, but in different places, separated by amounts of time. Most of them have something to do with the then-emperor but that's basically it. I'll only talk about the main games. Slight greater lore/Oblivion spoiler. Elder Scrolls Online is set in year 2E 582 (582nd year of the 2nd Era). Most of the games take place during the third era, which began with Tiber Septim uniting the continent of Tamriel under his empire. The first game, Arena, takes place in 3E 389-399 (yes it canonically spans a decade), and you traverse all of Tamriel. The second game, Daggerfall, takes place in 3E 405-417 and is in the province of Daggerfall. The third, Morrowind, takes place in 3E 427 on the island of Vvardenfell in the province of Morrowind. The fourth, Oblivion, takes place in 3E 433 in the Imperial province of Cyrodiil, and also sees the end of the third era with the end of the Septim bloodline. The fifth, Skyrim, takes place in 4E 201 in the province of Skyrim. So the first four games took place all within a fairly small number of years from each other, then Skyrim pops in 200 years later.
You'll find that first person is beneficial for being able to see everything in the world around you. If you use third person all of the time you'll miss a lot of items because you won't be able to see them effectively, or in the least you'll have a hard time picking things up, seeing inside open containers, etc.
Gotcha, thanks for the tip - I'll probably use 1st person more often then. :) Episode 2 is already filmed, but keeping it in mind going forward. I'm just more accustomed to 3rd person from other games I'm playing - except for The Long Dark, where I find that 1st person works super well. So no reason I shouldn't get used to it here as well!
@@kaminosystem 3rd person is fun for just running around. It is nice to be able to actually see the character that you created and not just a pair of hands and scenery. I only use 1st person when looking for loot.
I've been playing Skyrim over the years and I have played as Breton, because of the fact I can use conjuration spells. And certain races other than the Breton race will have an extra spell with them.
I've given a subscribe in the hope this playthrough series continues. I'd second what someone else said about survival mode, avoid that and play the normal game = survival is not fun at all.
I have 5 hours into playing Skyrim myself…it feels pretty interesting I just hate the combat. I’m addicted to Witcher 3 rn so it’s hard for me to have the energy to play Skyrim but I’m gonna try tomorrow 😂
Its an amazing game and the mods you can download can make it looks really great. Although, they can be a pain managing them. Still, its a fun game and you should check it out.
Hey ...Prisoner... get up and put your make up on. LOL. So just exactly how long did you spend in character creation? It's always fun to see how people do their characters. Good luck with the survival mode. You obviously have skill in gaming. So looking forward to your continuation of this series. (869)
Thank you! I actually end up turning off Survival mode in a later episode, as I was informed it wasn't part of the game upon release. I went back and checked the original footage, and I spent 11 minutes in character creation! :)
As I have 💯 % achievements and played this not stop from release date please feel free to ask me any questions. Tip it may pay to check your 🎮 buttons in the pause menu. To see what does what, as there is a lot to learn. From cooking, spell casting, riding, buying, selling, owning homes and more. Ps this game has no ending it is free roaming
If you want to fast level ur skills in one of three sections there is an item from a dlc you can craft to do so. Not spoiling anything if you want to do it the old fashioned way
Survival mode is fun, but I wouldn’t recommend it for your first play through. Skyrim is huge, with hundreds of hours of exploration. Survival turns that into a struggle to meet basic needs of sleep, food, and warmth, which will consume all your effort. Plus the added learning curve. At this point you don’t even have the most basic game mechanics, like which weapons do what, how to carry them, what magic is, and even where to look for loot. Honestly, if you want to go for it, then don’t let me stop you, but if it was me, and it was once upon a time, I’d learn the game and enjoy the adventure on an easy difficulty (you can increase/decrease it at any time), then start a new play through for Survival mode later.
The elder scrolls IS in the same world! Actually, all of the games are set after each other. The events of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion directly impact the events of Skyrim and you can read about the Oblivion Crisis in books and some characters will talk about it, many elves lived through it
Has it been 12 years. Holy Moses ide better put the controller down then for a bit n let the Xbox cool off, 12 years that's a new record, man I love skyrim
FWIW, I don't like the excessive cuts you use, and it's got to be quite a chore editing that way. Just play and we'll watch. Also, don't go survival on your first playthrough. It was an afterthought in reaction to mods. For the first time, just play as it originally was released.
@@GWynnSF Yes I agree, don't bother editing lol I actually like watching people do the boring stuff like trying to parkour up the side of a mountain for 30mins when taking the path would take 5mins lol. Or dying over and over lol These are the things that have nostalgia value which is why we watch and remember when we did it.
If you really hate the way elves look (I agree) there’s a mod that makes them prettier and feel more ethereal and elf like. There are two actually. Ethereal Elven Overhaul (completely revamps every aspect of their facial features to be prettier) and Aesthetic Elves which makes them prettier in a more subtle way. If you’re on Xbox it gets rid of achievements but tbh I think it’s worth it bc I cannot stand elves. There’s also some mods that just make all the characters prettier and adds more hairstyles so you can put your character’s hair in a pretty bun or a braid or a ponytail or a braided crown or whatever you want
Haha it's ok, I was just a bit taken aback. But I appreciate the tips! Although I think I'll stick to vanilla for this first playthrough. :) (Also I'm on ps5 so idk if it would even be possible to add mods to an existing save?)
Always good to play the vanilla game for the first playthrough. To other new players I'd consider one of the modlists that bring the game closer to 2024 standards for graphics and animations, and even give all the NPC's ChatGPT AI so you can have proper conversations with them!
The opening may be real confusing if you've never played Elder Scrolls games before, but almost every line has a deeper meaning behind it. I'm not going to tell you anything else ... just maybe revisit the beginning after you've already finished the game.
If you've been sick a good amount, I would, consider fasting and or a carnivore diet because that would lower or eliminate a great amount of inflammation throughout the body and brain: allowing yourself to heal and immensely boost your autoimmune system :)
Elves are actually pretty, at least as shown in the cinematic trailers of Elder Scrolls Online. It's just the game's engine that makes them look alien-y.
I can't imagine trying to play skyrim with controllers... still easier than playing an FPS with them i guess. this is a game best with keyboard and mouse.
Breton is the master race. Their 25% resistance to magic passive is what make the difference. You add to that the Lord stone, complete the agent of Mara plus 5 perks investment in alteration you will get a 95% resistance to magic and became untouchable, as most powerful enemies use magic.
Yeah, the TES are all in the same world, just different regions everytime, there's continuity but no real interconnextivity, generally there's decade if not centuries between the main history lines, it's mostly lore
Now just imagine it modded, instead of dragon noises you can get Thomas the tank engine going "toot toot" or Macho Man Randy Savage echoing across the mountains.
Thank you all for your encouragement and input! I did record the second part before comments started popping up, but know I really appreciate all of your suggestions, information and fun facts! It's going to help a lot going forward. :)

Great game. Playing a new DLC mod called "Olenveld". So many great expansion mods. - Clockwork, The Forgotten City, Falskaar, Beyond Skyrim-Bruma. Have fun in Tamriel.
@@waynepeterson1061 wow that’s such a sweet gift! Love those types of mugs. And thanks, I’m having fun already! :D
Awesome channel! Keep up the amazing work! Love playing Skyrim.
I loved it!! Made me remember of my first time… looking forward for part 2 😊
I'm glad to hear it, I'm really enjoying the game so far as well! Part 2 will be up next friday! :)
General Kenobi...
Imperial starting character, interesting! Voice of the Emperor (once per day power) is incredibly useful...
Ooh, now I'm curious as to what that does! I'll have to remember to read up on all my abilities etc. :)
What am i doing?"
Us-"Bro! Did she just wipe out BOTH of thos Imperials in 4 swings?"

Fun elder scrolls lore fact; The god that the Orcs worship (Malacath) was created when another god eat a different god and then said god.. Let those remains out of his backside and those stinky remains formed into another god this god being Malacath (I am not making this up this is 100% a real thing in the lore)
@@mpg272727 omg that’s hilarious- loving the random lore facts, I really want to know as much as possible!

My subscription is for Skyrim; though I'll probably watch some of your other videos. Skyrim is my second favorite game.
Very good 1st time. Thanks for your Video.
All the Elder Scrolls games take place on the continent of Tamriel in the world of Nirn. The first four all take place within a few years of each other, but Skyrim takes place a couple hundred years after TES4. All but the first takes place in a different country in that world.
Thanks so much for the info!
You're great to watch/listen to - keep going...! :)
Thank you, I appreciate it! :D
You're welcome Maria :)
I appreciate that you pay attention to the game itself and what’s going on around your character. I am watching another channel that is on their sixth episode of playing Skyrim and many of us commenters are pointing out things that he is just ignoring or blasting past. It’s fun watch but also a bit annoying.
I also just started playing a week ago glad to see I’m not alone
Oh, cool! Hope you're enjoying it - I'm certainly having fun so far!
I saw ur name and wondered, that has to be a star wars reference right? and never have i ever been so quickly answered before in my life🤣 good luck with skyrim it's been a personal favorite forever
ahaha brilliant - yeah, it's the place that didn't show up in the archives; where they created the clones. :) And thank you, I'm having fun so far!
14:40 You're my kind of player! Take everything you can get your hands on and turn it into coin. It adds up quickly! ☮
Exactly! I always pick up everything I see haha.
Lol, today I learn that Ralof actually waits for you to move your camera before talking to you, I had no idea, I've never left my camera still long enough to notice xD I always love how Ulfric doesn't make a single attempt to get his mouth free. Like it wouldn't even be hard!
Since Ulfric can use the thu'um, freeing up his mouth would probably be seen as a provocation and he would be killed
Hello there! Hope you enjoy the game. Please continue! I'd love to watch you play it
Thanks, next episode will be up friday! :)
Great Video!
Exploring this world in VR for the first time is an experience very few get to have. Just saying might be worth it. Although it is more buggy.
The most immersive game Ive ever played in my 30 years journey as a gamer.
I love this game. Miss playing soo much
interesting choice with the Imperial :D
If the controls are confusing, you can remap them in the settings! Hope this helps
Good point! I'll try to get used to them a bit more, but I might have to accept defeat at some point and change them haha.
"Let's go with the rebels" but, but you chose to be an imperial...lol.
Wait till she hears, "Skyrim is for the Nords!" LOL!
@shawnnerenberg661 Too funny!
SKYRIM! YES!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome! Next part wil be out friday :)
Best game EVER !
I play as a (Red Haired) Female Breton (called Jean De Leon 😁).
If you want to fast level ur skills in one of three sections there is an item from a dlc you can craft to do so. Not spoiling anything if you want to do it the old fashioned way
Even if you don't continue to record it, it is worth playing. Enjoy.
@@Tampahop thanks, I’m really enjoying it - just recorded part 3! 😊
The events of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion directly impact the events of Skyrim and you can read about the Oblivion Crisis in books and some characters will talk about it, many elves lived through it
ooh interesting - thanks for the information!
im so broken. i saw the thumbnail at a glance and thought yayy another skyrim brainrot intro
"Daddy Tullius!"
"did the edibles hit yet?"
Me: 3:23
ahahah
21:30 That's a P, his name is Pelagius.
gogogo!
"can we read stuff?" oh yes you can.
May I suggest longer videos? Maybe an hour...and not just to see more of you 😇
ACtivate both dialogue and general subtitles!
The opening may be real confusing if you've never played Elder Scrolls games before, but almost every line has a deeper meaning behind it.
I'm not going to tell you anything else ... just maybe revisit the beginning after you've already finished the game.
wow, cool - I'll try and keep that in mind!
Maybe NOT take valueless items like cutlery and pots. It can be hard to know what you might need at the syart if the game.
If you've been sick a good amount, I would, consider fasting and or a carnivore diet because that would lower or eliminate a great amount of inflammation throughout the body and brain: allowing yourself to heal and immensely boost your autoimmune system :)
I do know what caused the issues, and it's not diet related - I actually have a degree in nutrition. :) But thanks for the concern! :)
Elves are actually pretty, at least as shown in the cinematic trailers of Elder Scrolls Online. It's just the game's engine that makes them look alien-y.
install MO2 and go down the rabbit hole
I can't imagine trying to play skyrim with controllers... still easier than playing an FPS with them i guess.
this is a game best with keyboard and mouse.
A Nord's last thought should be of Ohio
@@dovahkiin5902 oh god- the possibilities are literally endless 💀
