- In this vlog, I go on a Northern Lights tour in Tromso Norway to look at the Aurora Borealis in real time. You will experience the joy of seeing the auroras from the aeroplane as we begin our journey, outside my hotel in Tromso city as I go for a stroll, during the excursion when we chase the Northern Lights from location to location, when going up the cable car to Fjellheisen and surprisingly enough, while waiting at the bus stop down the hill on the way back.
You will find that what we see with our naked eye is not the same as when the Northern Lights are captured in pictures by our cameras and that longer exposure time amongst other settings is what makes the auroras greener than in reality.
Plus you will see how cold it gets there and how to dress up warm to make the most of this once in a lifetime experience.
These are the items I have used for this trip:

Thank you. Do you have anything that's overdue as well?
this is a great video! i love how you decide to travel to norway to see the northern lights, and you get to see it several times!
It seems the universe has a way to make the things you wish from the bottom of your heart to come true.

Do you have anything that's long overdue on your bucket list as well?

Wow! When was your visit?
Dec 2023, are you planning a trip there too?
Wow it is amazing 🎉 I am planning to travel to Tromso just to see northern lights with my husband and 6 years old daughter. Do you think chasing aurora will be suitable for my daughter? And i think this will be our only chance to travel for northern lights so which month do you suggest for tromso? I guess you had some tips while you were there 😊 thanks.
To maximise your chances of seeing the auroras, it's better to travel during the winter months. In my video, you'll see how cold & windy it gets walking in absolute darkness under heavy snow away from city lights. The excursion lasts around 6hrs and you're idle most of the time looking at the sky, so those are things to consider when bringing your daughter. Dress like you're going to the North Pole and go with a tour where professional photos can be taken if you're not good with adjusting camera settings manually. All the best :)
what was the name of the hotel? was it nice? Thank you for this video.
It's Enter Amalie Hotel which is 2 mins walk from Radisson Blu where most excursion pick ups are done.
The people on the reception were really nice and helpful and that's the only budget hotel that served breakfast (hot, not take away types) that I found.
Room was clean and warm too.
I went in Dec 2023 so if you want to know anything else, ask away while it's still fresh in my mind :)
Hi can you share the exact aurora tour you’ve taken ? I tried the link, too many packages to look at. Tks 👍
Thanks for watching my video. I've just tried the link in the description and it takes me straight to the tour I've booked with reviews. Maybe it was a glitch, so let me know if gyg.me/m8oVqlOQ still does not work for you.
Hey there! The link you’ve shared still doesn’t show the exact tour you’ve bought.
When did you go? Mid February?
I went in December.
Can you see the aurora in Svalbard?
Definitely but it depends on the time of the year that you travel and how clear the sky is on the day of your tour.
The snow sound is very annoying
I'm sorry you feel this way but I included as many natural sounds as I could to give people a better idea of what it's like to chase the auroras.
