Some chase wealth. Others happiness. I prefer cultivating peace of mind.
To be grateful for friends you already have when many have none
Through slow living and mindfulness, we realise how lucky we are for the things we already have but many don't. Thus practising gratitude gives us inner peace.

That time I was depressed and abandoned all cleaning
Переглядів 57414 днів тому
Sometimes we may get overwhelmed with everything that's going on in our life and are unable to do our chores properly. Loneliness and depression made me unmotivated to tidy up and clean after myself and it didn't take much time before the whole house was a mess. This video hopefully helps you find the willpower amongst the chaos so that you can get control of your life back.
So I Cleaned Up My Driveway After 7 Years
Переглядів 9 тис.3 місяці тому
Cleaning up my driveway to get rid of weeds and restore the original colour of the paving was a nice challenge to take on. This is a before and after transformation of the front of my house which used to be a place I was ashamed of because tall weeds would grow near my front door and I always had it in my mind that the postman must be thinking how lazy I was to neglect this area and was inconsi...
So I Was Heartbroken and Composed a Sad Kalimba Song

I bought a kalimba (thumbs piano) just because it's so easy to play and composed an original sad tune along with lyrics to go with it when my heart got broken. So I Flew to Tromso Norway Just to See the Northern Lights
Переглядів 10 тис.3 місяці тому
In this vlog, I go on a Northern Lights tour in Tromso Norway to look at the Aurora Borealis in real time. You will experience the joy of seeing the auroras from the aeroplane as we begin our journey, outside my hotel in Tromso city as I go for a stroll, during the excursion when we chase the Northern Lights from location to location, when going up the cable car to Fjellheisen and surprisingly ...
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍1
Thank you for watching :)
I went through something frighteningly similar not very long ago. I had always heard people talk about the importance of cleanliness on mental health and hygiene, but it was only after that experience that I understood that cleanliness is even MORE vital for mental health than for physical health. I had been facing depression unknowingly for quite a while. At some point, someone I looked up to said something parallel to the words “Your dream isn’t coming true”. At which point, I drove home, angry at myself, and pissed at what I had turned into. Oddly enough I was not in the slightest mad at the person who said those words. Without thought, I took out my anger on my apartment (granted, a small one) by cleaning it up. These kind of overnight stories are rare and so I can see how this might seem unreal, but almost the next day I was restored to the creative and motivated person I used to be. I quickly started getting back into the habit of creating things and more importantly pursuing the dream that I had supposedly “lost”. To spare the details, my dream came true. I don’t know whether it was the clean environment itself or the simple feeling of power that came from acting out on it, but it changed the course of my life. Something simple can go a long way. It’s neat to see your experience in such a beautiful video. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your story. The willpower can come in different forms. I suppose in your case it was what that person said and it's good that you were able to get back on track shortly after and more importantly fulfill your dream. I hope even better days await you!
@@fougiss Thank you, and I think better days await all of us. By the way I would love to see you continue to make music. I know you don't see yourself as a composer, but it's such a great way to express emotion.
I have a piano progress video that I will be uploading as soon as my left hand starts listening to me and a violin one months later when my bowing gets better. Do you play any musical instrument btw?
@@fougiss Sure do. I play the cello.
That's awesome! Happy to meet a fellow musician :)
This was a great video, thank you for making it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and show your appreciation. It makes me happy.
Wow it is amazing 🎉 I am planning to travel to Tromso just to see northern lights with my husband and 6 years old daughter. Do you think chasing aurora will be suitable for my daughter? And i think this will be our only chance to travel for northern lights so which month do you suggest for tromso? I guess you had some tips while you were there 😊 thanks.
To maximise your chances of seeing the auroras, it's better to travel during the winter months. In my video, you'll see how cold & windy it gets walking in absolute darkness under heavy snow away from city lights. The excursion lasts around 6hrs and you're idle most of the time looking at the sky, so those are things to consider when bringing your daughter. Dress like you're going to the North Pole and go with a tour where professional photos can be taken if you're not good with adjusting camera settings manually. All the best :)
Very nice job done. I watch pressure washing channels, and the hosts use commerical equipment to clean the driveway, and spread the Sodium hypochlorite on the ground. It was the first time seeing the entire process being done the old "manual" way,🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I'm glad you liked it, thank you.
When did you go? Mid February?
I went in December.
❤❤iñlATIñP
Thank you.
Can you see the aurora in Svalbard?
Definitely but it depends on the time of the year that you travel and how clear the sky is on the day of your tour.
Looks much better ❤❤
Thank you 😊
this is a great video! i love how you decide to travel to norway to see the northern lights, and you get to see it several times!
It seems the universe has a way to make the things you wish from the bottom of your heart to come true.
The snow sound is very annoying
I'm sorry you feel this way but I included as many natural sounds as I could to give people a better idea of what it's like to chase the auroras.
Hi can you share the exact aurora tour you’ve taken ? I tried the link, too many packages to look at. Tks 👍
Thanks for watching my video. I've just tried the link in the description and it takes me straight to the tour I've booked with reviews. Maybe it was a glitch, so let me know if it still does not work for you. Update: There was an issue with the short url as it would sometimes take you to the exact tour and sometimes to a search page, so I've updated the description with the correct link now.
Hey there! The link you’ve shared still doesn’t show the exact tour you’ve bought.

Oh you're just too kind, thank you :) Do you play any musical instrument?
@@fougiss im trying to learn some kalimba
That's awesome. When I got mine, I tried to play easy songs like Happy Birthday/Twinkle twinkle by ear to get a hang of it. Is there a song in particular that you'd like to be able to play on it?
By ear?? How?
Let's say I'm trying to play Twinkle twinkle, I start plucking the keys on the kalimba until I find one which sounds like twinkle twinkle, then I move on to the next word in the lyrics which is "little star" and as long as the pitch going from the previous to the next sounds good to me, I keep going. It's so much fun trying to guess the notes of your favourite song.
what was the name of the hotel? was it nice? Thank you for this video.
It's Enter Amalie Hotel which is 2 mins walk from Radisson Blu where most excursion pick ups are done. The people on the reception were really nice and helpful and that's the only budget hotel that served breakfast (hot, not take away types) that I found. Room was clean and warm too. I went in Dec 2023 so if you want to know anything else, ask away while it's still fresh in my mind :)
