- Explore Tromsø, Norway with us! Known as the “Arctic’s capital”, Tromso is located 350 above the Arctic Circle. With over 78,000 inhabitants, it’s the biggest city in northern Norway and is a vibrant, year-round travel destination. In todays vlog, we show you around the town of Tromso and give you a glimpse of our unique accommodation, The Arctic Dome. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights and experience the icy sub-arctic temperatures.
We hope you enjoy the vlog! ~ Kristy & Steve

What's really impressive about Tromso is that despite being far north is that it doesn't have a polar climate or even a subarctic climate but more of a continental maritime climate (similar to northeastern US but with cooler summers). It's a way to experience the Arctic without the vicious cold of a place like Barrow, Alaska. A place that would be really jarring to visit is Alert, Nunavut, Canada. There's actually a brief time where Alert plunges into total darkness, imagine getting no day/night cues from the sky for weeks on end.
Oh wow we couldnt imagine complete darkness during the day! That is actually what we were expecting visiting Tromso and were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful twilight we experienced - breathtaking!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment ☺️
Beautiful light I wasn't sure the time of day but really beautiful.
I will watch it again in the near future 😃🙏
Thanks Patrick! Yes the sky really does light up and display the most incredible colours up here. So beautiful 🥰
Always wanted to go to Tromso… it looks very beautiful and cool City, thanks for the video 👍
Thanks so much! Its definitely worth a visit 👌🏽
Another brilliant video guys it's funny when you was both in the mountains in innsbruck Austria you was both so amazed by the snow because you never see it, now you have both seen more snow than some people will do in their lifetime 😂 the dome look well good as well, any really looking forward to the next on I'm guessing I'm going to hear some dogs barking 🙈😂 anyway catch you soon guys 👍👌👋
Thanks Chris! Yes we certainly experienced our fair share of snow this Europe trip that's for sure. We never got sick of it either -which surprised us!🤣
Next video is full of fun winter activities we have never tried before, hope you enjoy! 🐕⛷️⛄️
Went there last summer and beautiful, nice to see your winter perspective
Thanks Mike! Would have been lovely in the summer ☺️

Great trip to Tromso.
Thanks for watching Mario! Glad you enjoyed 🥰
Beautiful footage, love the drone shots. That dome is cool AF. I think we'll stay in the summer hemisphere for now haha... Hope ya'll are doing well 🍻
Thanks very much guys! Yes the dome was very "cool" in every sense of the word haha! 🥶
Steve was on drone duty and captured the landscape brilliantly, such an incredible part of the world. Hope you're having a great time exploring NZ! 🍻🤗
Got to Bangkok a few days ago, heading to Chang Mai on Tuesday 🤘
We're in Bangkok! I'll send you at WhatsApp msg 😎
great presentation of my hometown 🫶🏻 just a quick funfact: the church that you thought looked a bit out of place is actually norway's only wooden protestant cathedral, built in 1861. in those days most of the town consisted of wooden buildings obviously, but there's been multiple fires since then and now we have the architectural clusterfuck (pardon my french) that is tromsø, but i love it 😍
Hello! Thanks so much for the info ☺️ Your incredibly lucky to be from such a beautiful, breathtaking part of the world! We honestly couldn't believe a place like this existed - loved Tromso! 🇳🇴❤️
Very nice 👍
Thank you ❤️
kristy communication skills are next level damn cute🥰
Thank you so much ❤️🥰
❤❤ love you guys from India
You're very sweet, thank you! 🥰
Just wondering where the dome was that you stayed in?
Hi Kelly, I'll pop the link in the description for you ☺️
Can you guys link the dome accommodation ?
Hello, link in description ☺️
Can you please share the details of Dome where you stayed .
Hi Neha, link is in description ☺️
@@KristyandSteve We were also looking for this link. It doesn't seem to be in the description guys.
Apologies! The link is now in the description ☺️
Whats your thoughts on the airport? The google reviews terrifies me
Great airport in our opinion! Very small and was undergoing some type of renovation for a portion of it (near check in areas) but everything was clearly marked. Seemed pretty officiant and our plane was on time so we had a good experience. Its only 10-15min on the bus from the city centre of Tromso so we were all-round very happy ☺️
Can you please share the link for booking the Arctic dome?
Hello! Link in description ☺️
@@KristyandSteve there is no link in the description :/
sorry, its there now
Anyone know if its worth to go around the 20/03 i was thinking of going to see the northern lights but checking its seems it'll have bad weather and a full moon
I'll pin your comment so if anyone has any information, pls leave below.
If i were to recommend anyone seeing the northern lights here in Tromsø, i would say between November and February. As a local, i cant show any statistics on this but i've just experienced it more often between those months.
Where did you stay in that dome please
Hello, link is in the description ☺️
visit vrindavan 💛💛 in India it's so beautiful .
We will hopefully get to visit India one day ☺️
What momth were you in Tromso?
Hi Damon! We were there in December
@@KristyandSteve thank you and it was a lovely video
Appreciate that, thanks very much Damon ☺️
I want to live there .. I'm from phillipines
Its a beautiful part of the world ❤️
Maybe in my dream I can go there .. I can't afford to go there
Hopefully our videos can transport your there virtually and you enjoy them 🥰
Thank you for watching
What about whale, did you try that?
Hello! We didn't try whale, we dont recall seeing it on any menu or in the grocery store. Is it popular here in Norway?
@@KristyandSteve Yes, you should find it on restaurant menus. Not all restaurants, of course, but some. I am in Bergen, and know of several places they serve it. But since most whaling is done in Northern Norway, I would think it would be even more common in Tromsø.
Interesting! It's probably served at more higher end restaurants, one's we cant afford to frequent 🤣
The first thing i will think of if i think Norway is how crazy expensive everything is💰💸and i don't understand why 🤔Sweden is way cheaper than the other Nordic country's 🤑👍
We did notice Stockholm was quite a bit cheaper. Honestly though, Australia (and possibly Singapore) where we are from, is the most expensive place in the world in our opinion. Norway didn't shock us - apart from those pints at the end! 😯
Yes,i have heard about Australia Singapore that you mentionedand i can tell you that Island is a very expensive place to ifyou haveany plans to go west🤔😁@@KristyandSteve
Hello there
I recently came across your youtube channel < Kristy and Steve > and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after conducting a comprehensive analysis, I noticed there is room for improvement for your youtube channel for getting more visitors and subscribers. Not doing video optimization and keyword research is not improving your video.
The problems I got your channel:
1. Your video title, meta description needs to be improved.
2. Your Thumbnail needs to be more eye-catching.
3. You need to use more relevant ranked tags and low competitive keywords.
4. Also there are many more issues in your video optimization checklist due to which UA-cam algorithm is not delivering your video to your targeted audience.
If you solve these problems, hopefully your channel will grow day by day.
Thanks & Regards
Ayon Ahmed
£25 for two pints of beer.... Blimey!
Right? Very pricey at that particular brewery 🍻
@@KristyandSteve Sure is, but love to visit this place one day.
Strongly recommend you do, its absolutely incredible. The scenery and landscape alone is from another world, just breathtaking!
Well.. you did NOT take the train to Tromsø 😉
There is no train to Tromso 😉 Train Stockholm to Narvik then the bus from Narvik to Tromso. Quite the adventure!
