a lot of beautiful vintage postcards ... I like the snail guy in the background. As a matter of fact, in the early morning when I woke up to start my day back on September 10, my birthday that you did not wish me for, a snail visitor was seen in my washroom. I did take his picture and video clip on my cell phone given to the digital age that we live in :)
@@SnailmailwithSmokey it was quite nice, I visited the philatelic bureau. Picked up a lot of material. But upset as neither of my UA-camr philatelic/postcrosser friends wished me on the post - the other even saw and liked it but :/ I felt sad.
Jeff sent you some very interested vintage postcards, and photo postcards. That folded up extremely long postcards with many photos are impressive! Thanks for sharing with us, Smokey. Enjoy your weekend!!!!!!
This made me realize I still have a couple boxes of old letters and postcards to sort through that came with my Dad's stamp collection. After over a year of deep immersion in philately, I feel confident that I will now know more about and appreciate the postal history in those boxes...which were honestly intimidating b4. I didn't know if they were priceless/ too fragile to handle, or what. I've since come to the realization that the collection is valuable only in the sense that it's interesting. Some of the old post cards are really neat, and are truly snapshots of a world/ time that will never be again. Thanks for your great videos:)
@@Martha-q8p1b One of the great things about this lobby, is the stories that each stamp and postcard has to tell us and to me that is priceless. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I just discovered your channel a little bit ago. Totally love it. Wish I could pause the video clear enough to read the backs of some of them cards, ton of history's in there. Take care and peace.
