In my mind, this is all the church should be doing, is reflecting on the problems the members are facing and challenging their leaders to face those, no matter the time or attendance. Too much of today's churches are bound by sequence. Singing, prayer, intro, story, bible verses, reflection, prayer, food for thought, close. This might work for people, but I personally don't think it is WORKING FOR the people. Meaning on the surface it's pretty and motivates good feelings, but overall it's not very challenging. I think what made Jesus such an inspiration for so many is that he wasn't bound by sequence or "pretty". He did what others would not. He challenged what others would not. It was incumbent on him; there was no one else to do it. I feel it is incumbent on the church to face these challenges at every hour, in every season. Bc no one else will.

Its like this every weekend at CBC! Most of the time is happening in the lobby where people are just loving on people. I used to be so weary of Mega churches. In fact, when I was invited to CBC five years ago I said no way! Its too big. Well I ended up visiting and five years later, here we are! CBC absolutely breaks all mega church images.

For those asking how the Pastor knew Anthony's name in the video, here's some context: This interaction wasn't staged or planned. It was actually the second time Anthony had shouted out with some colorful language, prompting Pastor Ed to kindly ask for his name and handle the situation with grace and compassion. So no, it wasn't a performance - just genuine interaction that speaks volumes about the heart of our pastor and church.

@DavidG1984 That's what I would love to find. I've been to many churches and my issue isn't that people arent perfect - it's when imperfect people believe themselves to BE perfect. We are all in this together working through our stuff. If I'm having a hard time, maybe I just need a hug - not a scripture quoted at me. I feel like many churches very often forget that God is alive, and is the author of beautiful moments like this one if we allow that movement to happen. I don't HAVE to go into a specific building to have a relationship with God. And if I go into one and see instead a systematized, cold, lifeless going-through-the-motions, dead organization, why would I stay? Would that not be exchanging the truth for a lie? I'm not at all opposed to finding a new church family and things like this vid inspire me to look again. Michael saved this man.....i swear ive been in this moment. My life was in shambles. I was driving towards the river and was going to end my life. I cried out and asked God to send me a sign. I pulled over for a brief moment. A man walks up to me, a face I recognized. The husband of a woman i did bible studies with years before. He hands me her number and told me to call her and that things would be ok. That was my sign. He appeared out of no where. Instead of driving into the river, i drove home. God is good. He sends his messengers at the right moment

Remember it might not be the people's fault. Sometimes, I believe demons enter and cause distractions. As long as the Pastor gets through the message that is the most important thing. Last weekend I was in church saying a very important deliverance prayer on two different occasions and there were soooo many distractions happening. I mean like not a coincidence there were so many distractions from other people that I almost didn't get through the deliverance prayer both times. I pushed through as I wanted to stop many times because of the circumstances. However, God was there, and so was Jesus and Mother Mary as well as the Holy spirit encouraging me to push through and finish. I believe that because I pushed through both times and was obedient, I received the deliverance I needed from multiple Freemasonry generarions in my lineage, and I was freed of my Greek Org affiliation as well. I hope my testimony helps someone!

Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you.

This hits hard. My dad is someone who is high up there in ministry. He preaches love from the pulpit but it was totally different at home. My parents were the reason why I tried to kill myself years ago. Took me a while to forgive them but that pain is still there. What happened to me hasn’t detoured me from my faith in Christ but to see this makes me have hope in this pastor. I’m not used to this. I’m crying over here.

Same thing happened to me. My dad was a deacon in a baptist church.Very charismatic, handsome, loud singing in church, But I didn't meet him until I was nine, that I remember. His wife, my stepmom. Was the singer in the choir. And she was an angel on earth. She had so much love of Jesus for me. Even more than my dad, it feels like. She was kinder to me at times than my mom. They're all passed on now. And I can only pray that my parents are in heaven, but I don't know. They had prayed the sinner's prayer. My dad served the church and ministered to others. But he never really ministered to me. But my relationship with god, that's who I consider my dad to be because no matter what I need, he provides, Even if it's a home, a job, miracles in our finances to meet our responsibilities, my miracle children, Church support, now a wonderful man of God as my husband, and even a break when i'm exhausted. God is my Daddy. Cling to that because he's better than anyone could be and without him, we'd all be lost, no matter even if Our parents might have been great. I send you sisterly love & prayers.❤

Satan is like a roaring lion seeking to devour anyone and, he can appear as angel of light.
You all have it wrong: these churches are not for God nor his kingdom. These preachers of whatever take business classes and teach according to what these masses WANT to hear, not according to what God expects. You all need to seriously invest in in time to give to God by studying and researching his word and opening up to The Truth, not your personal wants and wishes. "The Great Tribulation" will soon come and the masses opposing Gods kingdom may not survive. But you still have time to turn from lies and deceit, and find Gods true identity and his embrace.

It’s incredible to me that in a congregation of over 50,000, he knows my name. This man truly walks with Christ.

@trooolyHow can they background check people if they don’t know their name. Even if they did know their name they can’t just willy nilly background check people. lol
You obviously have never had a background check because they take over a week to get just to get a basic check done. There’s no program people can just background check people. Police can’t even do that. They can only see your arrest record. You have to fill out a specific form and send it in to Austin for them to background someone. It takes a week sometimes longer. So I don’t know who told you that lie. Is a pastor has an earpiece on they usually are communicating to other pastors, the sound people, media people, members of the church. To have a smoothly running church. It would also be for security in case something happened they all would be notified to take action. Where did you get these crazy lies and that is someone not smart to go on the internet spreading things you didn’t investigate yourself to see if it was true or false. You believe what people tell you instead of taking information, investigating it yourself before running around spreading misinformation. That’s naive.

The sermon which the pastor had prepared - no matter how great and powerful if may have been - wasn't anywhere near as powerful as what happened there with The Lord working mightily through His Holy Spirit right there. The sermon which the pastor cut short may have been remembered for a while by a few, but this sermon which we saw worked out, would be something which would be talked about and remembered for a lifetime. • @evanmbiter

      God is love.
We all fall short and sin.
      Love is just and merciful.
Because God is loving He must judge sin, we all stand judged.
Because God is merciful He provided a way out from under the weight of the law and for us to be regenerated.
If we trust Jesus shed His sinless blood, died and rose from the grave He forgives us of our sins and gives us a new heart that wants to look God as our Father genuinely and delight in Him, freeing us from being slaves to sin.
The rest is our mind catching up with that reality and taking hold of His teaching and truth until He returns, or we die.
We aren't saved or kept saved by obedience. We can only be lost through unbelief (trusting in our own righteousness, to be or remain saved) or blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (attributing clear works of God, healing/deliverance, to demons and Satan).
Commandments aren't have to's, they are what we do because we actually want God's direction and It's what fulfills us.
You can't be born again without the desire to honor God. (Works based salvation "Christians" and "lawless Christians" are both wrong.)
We love because God first loved us.
Jesus is God, the Son, "the first and the last", God along with God the Father "the Lord God", this title is mentioned with being tied to God in Isaiah 44:6-8, and that same is sent along with the Lord God's Spirit in Isaiah 48:11-16.
Jesus further claims this title also in Revelation 1:8-17.

Yeah I was in a church when a lady started yelling out during the sermon and a woman behind her started pointing like, "get her out of here" and that was exactly what 'security' did. It was an eye opener to me that that church lacked power, and the ability to see what the need was which was prayer and deliverance, as opposed to what they did. Sometimes it just is a test for the church to see what will we do in circumstances like those. No one was being harmed...seems they get so concerned about the pastor's well being that they forget about the people who walk in the doors.

On the one hand if humans do bad things, they are blamed. But if they do good things, God is praised but not them. Michael still chose to act as he did, even if it was at the Spirit's prompting. As you know we can walk in step with the Spirit or quench Him. Michael was doing the former, making that choice. The pastor was simply overcome by emotion given the good that someone attending his church had done.

I appreciate you saying that, BUT JUST REMEMBER, I do not think the Pastor or Michael want any praise because it was Jesus who loved his neighbor as himself and reached out to Pastor, Michael, and Anthony and me. Jesus is the one who sacrificed his time and resources. It is about Jesus.

What grace. In a world full of prideful pastors, I really needed this. Bless you pastor. I hope to come to San Antonio one day to join one of these days.

Wow, Michael is really walking with the Spirit there. Inspiring! Very tough moment for the pastor with everyone interrupting, but I'm thinking that might be partially due to the culture of the church and it's not necessarily bad. It's amazing watching him balance preaching truth, loving Anthony, and shepherding His flock.
