- Al is taking a break from WWI Imperial German Feldkanonen for now and has moved onto a new project! A Steyr 1500A 😲
This beauty was supplied to us from our good friend Dimitry Bushmakow 👏
All parts we need are here. Now its just a matter of cleaning them up, assembling them, tuning the motor and giving it a few coats of paint 🧹✨
Good luck Al and stay tuned for more updates!
Thanks!
Steyr is from St. Valentin, Austria. (Ostmark)
Greets from the Alps
Never fails to amaze the variety of vehicles and history that are on this channel. Really amazing content. Thanks for all of the hard work!
So smart to stamp the Zundfolge into one of the parts. Makes it so much easier in the field without manuals
"spark follows" neh? so it's the distributor cap, showing direction of rotation?
@@chemech the Zundfolge is on the black part, The dirstributor cap is the red bit with the wires. It looks like the black part is a fan to force cooling air through a radiator?
@@FrancSchiphorst I just did a quick Google search, and Zuendfolge translates as "firing order" from Zuender = igniter, and folgen = to follow - my high school German was right...
Following up, it appears in still photos that the engineers in Graz, Austria stamped the cylinder numbers 1-3-6--2-7-8-4-5 below the word Zuendfolge on the shroud of the fan which forces air across the front half of the engine block (there's a second such fan behind the carburetor) of this air-cooled engine.
But, without the multiple still photos, this would still be confusing, because the video image was a bit on the short side.
The music behind this video is really cool. The Steyr is beyond cool. Thanks for both!
Love to see it when it’s finally finished!!
Don't you mean that you love to see the process of it becoming finished?
@@laurisikio yep, looking forward to that as well
Brilliant, looking forward to seeing more
What an awesome project !
Well done Austraslia.
What an amazing museum and so full of such great and passionate people.
Let's see some more videos on this one too
Wow the vehicles Rob is buying are fantastic i cant wait to see it .
Cool. The vehicle was manufactured very close to me many years ago in the city of steyr as well as the vehicle name. Looking forward to the videos.
An air-cooled V8, nice!
Never seen a flat 8 before! Cool!
Great video!
Can’t wait to see that on workshop Thursday
Wednesday...
Very Cool.
Shes in good shape
Back in the day it was real easy to wonder around a Mag looking for the water tank, while doing your daily inspection!!!
Where do you find these gems? Amazing any of them still in existence outside museum collections!
amazing
Great with some different vehicles being restored besides tanks
Looking forward to this. One of my favorite German vehicles.
There is at least one restored this truck in Japan.
The Germans like air cooler stuff.
Steering by Armstrong!
cool
You guys should restore an LRDG Chevy 😂
Those Trucks look badass
2 videos in a week again... can my heart take it ?
Awesome 👌
It resembles an IKEA flatpack!
Aww this is gonna be great !!
I'm curious to learn more. Reading rapidly on the model, it would be a earlier version with the spare wheel inside the body. But, the air filter could be a late accessory. Let us know more!
Those blowers for the supercharge are incredible! Looks like they came out of a central air-conditioning system
Those aren't supercharger blowers - they are cooling fans, its an air-cooled engine with the cylinders arranged in a V configuration. Air cooled Steyr engines can still be seen in Germany, although most of the ones I saw were 4-cylinder air cooled inlines, used for powering construction equipment like generators.
Awesome, are we going to get regular updates 😊
It's in better nick than I am.
Waiting to see Beau turn this into a King Tiger.
No german Steyr … it‘s an austrian manufacturer ☝️
Anschluss means "You're German now".
What ever happened to the Goliath mini tank mine?
The workshop team got it started, it immediately drove off and no one could catch it. Then it blew up under their Grant tank, that's why they're restoring it at the moment.
Looking forward to this one. Could live without the cowboy music though.
any new videos on the steyr?
fuel tank at face height, NICE 1.
I was checkin out the Jagdpanther.
And damn, it lookin fine,
Then it pulled on out it’s 88 gun,
And it was twice as big as mine.
Points for trying to make a tank poem (it's not actually terribly bad)
Air cooled like my Pinz712......a Steyr relative
👍
Steyer is Austrian not German
Can't wait Gents. Love the channel. My best to all the guys and Lottie. 2 of my 4 dogs are pit bull sisters named Dolly and Lottie. Keep up the great work.... All the best.
