+MrPungnylle b I'm sure he's not for them. I assume he would more so recommend a water based product. I say this because he uses a water based tire gel instead of silicone based, which actually you can use AMMO MUD tire gel on your trim; however, it won't necessarily be super shinny if that's what you're looking for. It will look good but not totally shinny.
I just bought my dream car and have spent so many hours learning about car maintenance, care, modification etc. Your videos have been so extremely helpful to me, I can't thank you enough. It's a really great feeling knowing that I have the knowledge to keep my car looking fantastic for years to come. I also really admire your passion for what you do, you clearly take pride in what you do and I have not found anyone that goes anywhere close to the detail you provide. Thank you so much for all the time you spend making great videos to inform others!
Larry, its great to see you openly promoting your products. Some companies have been ramming pointless products down our throats for a while now & Its a breath of fresh air to see someone like yourself share his knowledge & integrity with out an agenda. Kudos to you mate.
I'm 19, just got my first car, which is a 1998 Dodge Neon. I know it's not a really nice BMW or Charger, but it's a start. I've been getting really into caring for it, even more so because the previous owner didn't take much care of it (he sold it after he dented up the front from when it went under a trailer home). I've been trying to care for it and restore it as best as I can and your videos have been a great help. Thanks a lot!

Larry, I can't thank you enough for shooting this video. I'm currently very much amateur level when it comes to auto cleaning and detailing, although I have had a few "customers." It seems that I have no pattern for my washes and with so many different videos, opinions, and methods, I'm even more unorganized in the way I perform my washes. This is a well made video and really helps me to understand the importance of creating a pattern or routine when washing and detailing a vehicle. So again, thank you for this video!! Glad to see a new video that goes back to the root of your profession of washing and detailing. Have a great day!
Thank you for mentioning the seat position. I have even had details done where they have changed the steering wheel, mirrors, seat and radio stations. It's the small things customers remember.
Rice Crash that’s absolutely right. I didn’t go back to a dealership because they refused to give me an owners manual for a vehicle I just bought. When I went to buy another vehicle they were blowing me up trying to get me down there. Won’t even glance at the place as I drive by now. The details matter for sure.
Salty Honkz Why did they refuse? That is just stupid. I’m assuming they had one available- I can’t think of a single reason to do that which makes sense...
Just wanted to add my suggestions on things I've learned over time. 1, I vacuum the seats before the carpet. A lot of times things jump from the seats onto the carpet..it saves time. 2, I do the windows AFTER the tire shine. The smallest amount of wind carries that tire shine onto everything..also saves time. 3, I clean the interior first always because when cleaning/lifting dirt/dust from the inside, it can end up blowing around to the paint. It's comforting to know when I'm finished the inside I can close it up n not have to get back in.
I do this unless I'm extracting that way everything has time to dry but usually my extraction jobs i schedule for a little longer toake up for drying time i hate giving back a moist car .
This is really awesome. I started watching these videos a year ago when I bought my dream car. I started studying care taking for my car and I have almost the exact same process when I clean mine. With all the videos that Larry has made, I have been able to educate myself enough to maintain my car. Thank you Larry. Your videos are really nice. I appreciate them alot.
Hey brother, I can't tell you how refreshing it is to watch a video, plainly laid out and to hear "to each his own". Just wanted to say thanks.

So I’m going to say I’m very appreciative of this content for a few reasons. I don’t have a fancy expensive car but I do have a new fully loaded Kia Soul Exclaim that I love to clean and keep shiny and new looking. So having some free time for once in a very long time this weekend I want to clean my car again but this time I’ve got build up on my Driver leather seat and I found your channel on how to remove leather stains. Then I’ve found this video. And let me say that this video either reinforces what I already do or has shown me new techniques I’ve never even considered. So thank you for sharing your expertise with the world to see and learn. I don’t use expensive products to clean but I’ll definitely have an idea of what to do from now on. So thank you very much for making videos like these so I can keep my Kia Soul exclaim professionally clean 👍🏼
the tip about being mindful of seat and mirror settings before the cleaning is so on point. I have a weird eye for things like that and after a wash if I go to get in the car and the seat is left moved up it kind of stalls my appreciation of the fresh wash. i don't even know how i ended up watching this but great video!

Thank you for showing people the right way to clean a vehicle. I was so impressed with Larry's videos I bought products from him and his products are as impressive as he is. Products are great and his personal online support is fantastic. Larry Rocks!
I raise my own "using dishwasher detergent as car shampoo" and double raise it with "using wd40 and the jet steam spray wand and my dad's work place used for cleaning big rigs"
I used to put the cheapest carnauba wax on my car which used to be my dad's with an old sock that I'd set down on the ground between panels. #ThrowbackThursday
I had my last car for 12 years, washed it 5-6 times a year using the cheapest shampoo I could find and a sponge. And I had just one bucket. And after 12 years it still looked like new...
I so enjoy watching your videos. Im glad to see Ive been doing a lot of things right when I wash my vehicles. I, however, always vacuum first. I have an inexpensive Craftsman vac and the dirt on the garage floor gets blown around when I run the vac so I dont want that dirt, or "Gunk" getting on my car. Secondly, I NEVER put towels over my shoulder and then use them to dry or do glass. I find that sweat and/or oil from my skin gets on the towel and then on the glass or paint.
Larry, thank you for all your car care how-to videos. The procedures you use makes the most sense. I'm getting a new mustang gt soon, and plan on hand washing it no less than every 2 to 3 weeks. Love the idea of drying with hydrate.
Thank you for sharing with us your knowledge about car detailing. Your videos are always excellent and help me to maintain my car safely. I have purchased your products and look forward to using them.
Rommel Enriquez Most of the time all you have to do is cover up the air filter (if exposed) and the distributor if it's an older vehicle. Been spraying engine bays for 8 years now.. Not once have I caused any electrical problems or hydrostatic locked a motor lol
@@BadassEFdriver I usually use a pressure washer, or a self service car wash lol But I am a mechanic, so I know where not to spray... But generally, unless something is wrong, you can hose an engine down with no problems. Run it for a while afterwards to warm it up and make sure everything dries out so nothing seeps into connectors.
@@steveneumeyer681 I assume that you also don't drive through puddles, or when the road is wet? And be careful, if it's foggy outside and the fan turns on, it will blow moisture directly onto your engine! Lol
Bought my first real sports car a few weeks ago and got hooked on your series from Drive, another happy subscriber and soon to be customer when I switch to your products!
Larry. Thanks for the very informative wash video. It is really great to see someone who takes such pride in doing a job well. I learned that even though I thought I was washing my car correctly, you can always learn something new. Thanks again and I will continue watching.
Larry, first off, thank you SOOO much for your comments, tips, insight, and your valuable experience. I have to tell you, I was laughing a bit during this video and I'll tell you why. . . . . because that's how i approach my weekly wash n dries too :)). I mean almost to a T. The funniest part was when you got to the fabric cleaning of the seat. . . you know...when you pulled apart the seams to expose hidden dirt ! ! ! LOL I do that too. It's good to see someone else that's "anal" about detailing. I mean, afterall, that's how you got to the top of the detailing food chain. Even still, I'm going to watch this video a few more times and then take notes. I am always looking for ways to improve my technique. I know you probably have already heard this a million times but Thank YOU for helping me take care of my cars (I have a 2012 Mazda3 Sedan in Crystal White Pearl, and my wife's is a 2015 Mazda3 Sport in Soul Red). They're not Ferrari's or Porsche's, but they are an important investment to me. And I love to detail cars, so I consider myself a serious enthusiast. My polisher is just a Porter Cable 7424xp but I like it. I have all the necessary foam pads and cleaners as well. I will be watching your videos on your products to see if they are what I can use. In the meantime, keep the videos coming. By the way, I noticed in another video, someone posted some dumbass comment about you talking too much and not enough info ?!?! O say screw him and keep doing what your doing ok? I like your style, I like how you explain things, and I like your personality. You have a way of explaining things so people get it. Ok, enough rambling, have a great 4th of July ling weekend ok bud ? :)) Mike
Meguiar's gold class soap. Works well. Use more than directed to make sure you have plenty of lubrication. Double the dose for your wheels. Armor all wheel cleaner. Spray it on your wheels like the "plum" pre spray. Use it as a pre spray yourself. Then, using your over-concentrated gold class soap, clean the wheel like normal. Get his "skin" defense coat. Easy as pie to put on and buff off, and is amazing stuff. Yes, it's 65 bucks....but I've kept my car skinned to the max for over 2 years, and have about have the bottle left. It's actually enjoyable to apply.
One day I must have you detail my car. The attention to detail and time you spend is definitely the best I've seen of anyone in the business. Keep up the great work!
Damn man. I spent 5 hours this weekend washing, claying, compounding and sealing my car and it doesn't look anywhere close to as sharp as your Subaru after a "Sunday" wash.
A car is the second biggest purchase only to your house (for the most part) Larry has a lot of things to teach about detailing. I have learned a lot. Nice job.
@@barristanselmy2758 wonders why his paint is magically coming off.... watch any detail video. When do they ever use a “pressure washer..” = no thinking to his “BS.”
I'm not a detailer nor am I particularly fanatic about cleaning my car. However, I really enjoy your videos. Lots of good content. My favorite was the Irish Green 912.
+carlos boudry I care about my car but it will be constantly dirty because where I live there is mostly dirt roads and going out for a drive will make it instantly dirty
Amazing video! A lot of great information. Thanks. I didn't even notice how many times you said "Gunk" until you pointed it out. Don't worry about that, your knowledge and perfection speaks for its self.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing! loved the idea of filtering water for no water spots. by far one of the best step by step how-to videos I've seen!
shouldn't you rinse after the foam gun to take off all the loose debris then you start washing? I've always done this.. I just think more scratches will occur while the foam is still on the car?
574 dislikes? While Larry is fanatically crazy about the quality of work (and pushes his product) the guy is a natural and it's obvious this is his passion. Keep up the quality work Larry!
so glad i'm not the only one to enjoy the vacuuming so much and i follow almost the exact same process....getting into the seams.. mats.. etc. my wife doesn't get how i can spend a whole day cleaning a car :)
60 bucks??? I paid 40 for the wheel woolies, and I got 3 of them. Bought them when I got my 15 around July of 2015. Still work fantastic. The woolies rinse out the brake dust very well. Highly recommend. As for his products, you're right. The "foam" paint wash, and the "plum" wheel spritzer, and the "brute" wheel soap is a bit much for what you get. Solution?? Get the Meguiar's "gold class" soap, and use twice the directed amount to baby your paint. Do the same for your wheels. It's cheaper even when you use dumb amounts of it!!! LOL GET THE ARMOR ALL WHEEL CLEANER. Works just like the plum pre-spray (but I think it's better) You spray the wheel cleaner on the wheels, and it feels super slick on the wheels. And it's the same price of the plum, but you get more than twice the amount..........and no shipping. The "skin" protectant is theeeeeeeeeee shit. GET IT!!!! Yes, it cost 65 bucks, but again, I've had it for over 2 years, and still have more than half the bottle left.
Thank you for making your video Larry. I get everything you do 100%, even the thought of cleaning the drivers side area of the window first! Watching your video helps me ensure I have done everything to keep my paycheck.
Wow! You care about us! You still answer your to old videos! Much respect. Anyhow - Why do you suggest skipping the pre-foam step "if your car has hard paint?" and Bless your little heart for your generous thirst of knowledge! Thanks!!!
I try my best. my suggestion is to always do what will help prevent damaging the surfaces you're working on so if a pre-foam helps, then do it. Thanks for watching
Hey Larry, don't mean to be rude but do you think you could put the link to your website in the description? There is an option for it in the UA-cam settings but you probably know that c; and yes I understand how incredibly lazy I am.
Awesome video Larry, I like you know the importance of washing a car and how to properly wash and detail. I have been doing it for about 15 years as well and everyone always comments on how clean my car is. I never understood how someone can purchase a vehicle for crazy money and not take care of it. I have been following you for a while now. I am also looking into buying your products to keep my car clean. Thanks for the videos man!
you workman ship and quality is amazing reminds me of me! lol check out some of my how to videos. you input would be appreciated admire your work a lot
Thanks for the great vid! @11:44 I'm curious as to whether you've ever put foam on the car, bottom to the top. I used to work in a food processing plant and that was how the operators were trained to clean the machines before they were sterilized. The reason is that the foam would coat the bottom and stay on that area the longest. Subsequent layers of foam applied higher up would cascade downward in sheets over the entire previously foamed surface. Foam tends to travel downward over wet areas, not dry (‘legs’ will form @11:45). If you foam the bottom first the foam applied to the upper part will work it’s way all the way down to the bottom. Washing and rinsing would then be done top to bottom as usual. A small thing, but I find it gives more bang for the foamy buck. Great tutorial, i look forward to learning more.

I had my last car for 12 years, washed it 5-6 times a year using the cheapest shampoo I could find and a sponge. And I had just one bucket. And after 12 years it still looked like new...
Best 25 minutes ever spent. You're amazing Larry!!
I wonder what this dude's shower routine is like....
hah omg best comment haha

Carefully apply soap into the crevices of your toes..
make sure u get all the gunk from the cracks as it can build up there
Thank you for sharing with us your knowledge about car detailing. Your videos are always excellent and help me to maintain my car safely. I have purchased your products and look forward to using them.
I am nervous about cleaning inside of the hood. Can you make a detailed video about how to properly clean the engine and the DOs and DONOTs for it?
Rommel Enriquez Most of the time all you have to do is cover up the air filter (if exposed) and the distributor if it's an older vehicle. Been spraying engine bays for 8 years now.. Not once have I caused any electrical problems or hydrostatic locked a motor lol
@@BadassEFdriver I usually use a pressure washer, or a self service car wash lol
But I am a mechanic, so I know where not to spray...
But generally, unless something is wrong, you can hose an engine down with no problems.
Run it for a while afterwards to warm it up and make sure everything dries out so nothing seeps into connectors.
pretty much a bad idea to spray water in your engine bay, not worth the risk.
@@steveneumeyer681 I assume that you also don't drive through puddles, or when the road is wet?
And be careful, if it's foggy outside and the fan turns on, it will blow moisture directly onto your engine! Lol
@@BadassEFdriver you do that in a Pontiac you're fucked lol.
Bought my first real sports car a few weeks ago and got hooked on your series from Drive, another happy subscriber and soon to be customer when I switch to your products!
I've been binging on all these over the top detail videos lol
The only other car cleaning tutorial I saw before this was the one in pulp fiction. This is way more useful for me. Thank you
Facial expression at 16:22. PRICELESS!!! Love it! Hahaha!
Mike
Thanks for the kind words Mike! Glad to help and glad to hear people appreciate it.
Wow! Love how thorough you teach. Please don’t change your style, it’s motivating!
Love your videos man, they are so relaxing to watch and contain so much good information, sadly i just found your channel
Bro I can't afford all these products lol
You can always start washing cars with a Thong so you earn money to buy these products lol 😂

One day I must have you detail my car. The attention to detail and time you spend is definitely the best I've seen of anyone in the business. Keep up the great work!
Shout out from Toronto, Canada!
Damn man. I spent 5 hours this weekend washing, claying, compounding and sealing my car and it doesn't look anywhere close to as sharp as your Subaru after a "Sunday" wash.
hes using professional detailing products. much more exspensive.
A. N. Thanks, I'll give that a try.
A. N. lol, but you look good when you hit the streets and the looks make it all worth it! =]
Might have something to do with the time frame, 5 hours to wash, clay, compounding and sealing? think you went way to fast!
Compound will haze the surface without a follow up polish
I love Larry's video's. He has taught me to really take car of the paint on my black car. Best car detailer I have come across. Thanks Larry!
Pause at 16:22. Thank me later.
😂😂😂
Thats probably the best shot of how its inside Larry's head. Awesome!
He should use it as a thumbnail! Omg gunk! Lol
Cheers Dan
+Alberto Pettine Died laughing.. lmao
+sleepybird09 if you stop the video on the late end of 16:22 hes making his (OCD) face about how much he loves vacuuming
I've watched a few of your videos now and they're absolutely outstanding. The level of detail you take into account is unreal.
thank you!
Hey Larry, I wanted to hear your opinion about Chemical Guys, as another professional detailer.
Hmmmm.... Not sure it matters how I feel about them. Sometimes it best to hold ones tongue. :)
A car is the second biggest purchase only to your house (for the most part) Larry has a lot of things to teach about detailing. I have learned a lot. Nice job.
If you came to Calgary (Canada) in the winter, you'd see our definition of a dirty car.. It's absolutely horrifying
I never thought I would watch a 25min video long but I watched the whole clip and I foumd it useful, thanks for the tutorial
I use the 12 bucket system
I use a no bucket system because i have a pressure sprayer. No buckets = no bullshit.
3 grit guards per bucket or it's a no-go!
@@barristanselmy2758 wonders why his paint is magically coming off....
watch any detail video. When do they ever use a “pressure washer..” = no thinking to his “BS.”
Larry is my Yoda when it comes to car washing/detailing.
The OCD of this guy is great, almost like a perfectionist its wonderful to see haha
This is not OCD.
Being neat and tidy =/= Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Dude you do not have to be so literal come on now
I'm not a detailer nor am I particularly fanatic about cleaning my car. However, I really enjoy your videos. Lots of good content. My favorite was the Irish Green 912.
That's considered very dirty? Lol
+Darnihx if you care about your car(s) yes.
+carlos boudry I care about my car but it will be constantly dirty because where I live there is mostly dirt roads and going out for a drive will make it instantly dirty
He's a car detailer living in New York, yes sir that's dirty.
I saw lots of good reviews about this ceramic coating sites.google.com/site/SupremeNanoCoating and it's quite cheap

Amazing video! A lot of great information. Thanks. I didn't even notice how many times you said "Gunk" until you pointed it out. Don't worry about that, your knowledge and perfection speaks for its self.
Top quality and very useful.
You´re my personal hero man. The inner neurotic neat freak in me, purrs like a little kitten when I watch your vids. Keep it up!
OCD porn lol

Ark Wood lmao 😂 so true
Thanks for taking the time and sharing! loved the idea of filtering water for no water spots. by far one of the best step by step how-to videos I've seen!
shouldn't you rinse after the foam gun to take off all the loose debris then you start washing? I've always done this.. I just think more scratches will occur while the foam is still on the car?
Tony F i also thought of this question whilst watching.
You are obsessed! That is why I know you are the best in the industry.
This is the bob Ross of car cleaning
You mean Martha Stewart....lol
574 dislikes? While Larry is fanatically crazy about the quality of work (and pushes his product) the guy is a natural and it's obvious this is his passion. Keep up the quality work Larry!
This is ocd to the MAX!! I'm surprised you don't wash the car inside of a filtered air room!! Lol
And it because of that he detail very expensive cars
so glad i'm not the only one to enjoy the vacuuming so much and i follow almost the exact same process....getting into the seams.. mats.. etc. my wife doesn't get how i can spend a whole day cleaning a car :)
I'll pay ANYTHING for dust extraction. *itches nervously*
You are a man who giving us knowledge and carzy thing is this you are giving us knowledge freee
What did you cover with the bag and water on the alternator and battery isn't an issue???
Brilliant. You are a natural presenter; I have enjoyed every video you've produced and find the information very informative.
Keep up the good work!
Best detailer by far but man his products are expensive! Like seriously 60+ dollars for a fucking wheel brush really!?
fuck his products
Go onto ebay and you will find everything you need from china dirt cheap!
I'm not sure how good that wheel brush is but the Brute wheel soap and Plum brake dust remover do work as advertised.
LOL
GET THE ARMOR ALL WHEEL CLEANER.
GET IT!!!! Yes, it cost 65 bucks, but again, I've had it for over 2 years, and still have more than half the bottle left.
hes based out of Manhattan, NYC. fucking cigarettes are like $14 (seriously) and you hardly can smoke them anywhere.
The SPOTLESS system is worth every dime. I love it!

"most of you clean your engine every couple of months"
who does that? I would never pour water in there..
Wow! You care about us! You still answer your to old videos! Much respect.
Anyhow - Why do you suggest skipping the pre-foam step "if your car has hard paint?"
and Bless your little heart for your generous thirst of knowledge! Thanks!!!
I try my best. my suggestion is to always do what will help prevent damaging the surfaces you're working on so if a pre-foam helps, then do it. Thanks for watching
Hey Larry, don't mean to be rude but do you think you could put the link to your website in the description?
There is an option for it in the UA-cam settings but you probably know that c;

you workman ship and quality is amazing reminds me of me! lol check out some of my how to videos. you input would be appreciated admire your work a lot
