My Mom was my guide in the early days of my marriage. She taught me flower arranging, colour choices, a love of plants and gardening, sewing and baking. That was a platform for me to work with and over the years I developed my own style and I now have a beautiful home. So to criticise this loving Mom is unfair she is doing a great job and her daughter will look back and thank her parents for their help.
The more Homeworthy features Ruth and her family the more I really grow to like them. What a blessing to have parents that that consider their children’s needs and don’t hesitate to step in and help them flourish.
I love that she corrected her dad "when I bought the house." Can't be easy all of the time to operate under the shadow of her parents, so her assertion of herself in that moment made me proud of her and I don't even know her:).
I’m SO careful about not overstepping in my son’s home… this made me squirm a bit for the son-in-law but I’m sure they’ve work out boundaries. I’ve remodeled and built from the ground up so I appreciate the work put into this home. I love that they’ve chosen to retain original materials where they can. ❤
The blessing at the dinner table by Chris shows how serious he takes being the spiritual leader in the family. I'm impressed and the mother in law and father in law know their daugher will have a blessed marriage. Im sure they are joyful about this strength Chris brings to the marriage.
I truly understand how things can become overwhelming to someone who never did any kind of renovation. But he is such a good sport to stick it out and to have the courage to stick it out. They all did a wonderful job at renovating this gorgeous house. Congratulations to Chris and Alex.
Amen; you've raised lovely children and as they take the torch may they go farthest as you've done with five children in tow. Stay blessed and thank you for sharing.
Oh, Homeworthy…thank you so much for continuing to feature Ruth and her beautiful home and family! What a truly special episode featuring the love and hard work that went into creating this beautiful home for the newly married couple. I enjoyed it so much!💛
Love the charm of the house and the rugs in the kitchen look great. Maybe you could add a chic curtain in the powder room to hide the toliet from view of the dining area. Victoria🌹
I absolutely love Ruth’s videos! She’s so natural in front of the camera! So thankful she is sharing her wisdom and life experiences for others to learn and appreciate!
So happy for this sweet couple to have a wonderful home to start their life together…do feel a little bad for Chris though. He took a lot of hits (albeit lovingly) in this video.
I love your daughter’s passion for her home, she is delightful! What a great project for father and daughter. Ruth, I love your book and your Homeworthy series. Keep them coming!
Oh Ruth…I just LOVE you and your precious family….you have so much energy and love to give and you do it all LEFT HANDED…..you are so awesome with the sweetest calmest voice….hugs carolyn from Columbus Georgia….why don’t you have your own tv show??????
Wow, Amen!! I love how you included their meal blessing! This is one of my favorite videos you have produced. Genuine, real people doing the hard work and yet, keeping it simple. MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE!
Ruth is sensational she is my new Martha Stewart; never cared for Martha; but adore Ruth! ❤ Just one thing that I would change and in easy to do is that the refrigerator door could be changed to open on the other side.
Alex said from the get go that she can get down and dirty doing the hard work but she doesn’t have an eye for design like Ruth does. That’s why she welcomes her mom’s expertise in this area. My daughter and I will be very similar when she has her own place. She and her boyfriend have already asked me to help them decorate in their future home someday. Not everyone is blessed with the same talents so why not help out your child in that way? It’s so silly to hate on her for this. Alex and Chris aren’t incapable. This was lovely and all in good fun. They have a wonderful family. Nerves probably played a big role in any of the comments that were possibly a little off. I loved the video and am thankful to Homeworthy for continuing to share Ruth and her amazing talents and lovely family. ❤️
I love Ruth's enthusiasm with her daughter's home. Some say it's intrusive but I think she and her daughter have that special kind of relationship. I could be like Ruth with one of my daughters but not like that with my other daughter. But let me tell you its great when you can.
I’m making those cookies 🍪!! It’s admirable that their daughter had the vision to buy a home. That her fiancé/husband was on board and happy to learn and this project was done with her Dad, priceless.
So kind to her son-in-law! I live about 40 minutes from Ruth (near Lancaster!). I wish I could be her neighbor! Hoping to go to her barn sale at Christmas!
What a blessing to watch the family connections you've shown us. Great example of passing on the legacy. 🙏💞 Embracing each person's strengths, working together in harmony, and learning new skills along the way makes life so much more fulfilling. Thank you for sharing!
Wow, what a beautiful transformation. The kids' home is lovely and I love the gift from the McKeaneys. It's perfect in the living room. The powder room wallpaper complements the dining room wall and is such a nice transition. So pretty! It's always fun to spend a day with Ruth McKeaney for inspiration and recipes.
I Love the relationship the parents have with the daughter and the son- in -law. The daughter trusting her mothers expertise In decorating and even where to place the art. My relationship with my daughter is the opposite. I told her if i build a home i will just turn her loose and she can totally decorate my home. She is that good and of coarse i will add my own touches but i trust her choices because she knows (my) style . Love the videos! Keep them coming!
What wonderful parents! Love how your daughter and son in law have worked so hard and now have a beautiful home. What vision! Love the kitchen ❤ great job, thanks for sharing
I think the house turned out so pretty , and your dad and husband helping out made for great memories , and to have your mom help you decorate it is also very special . And I love the brick your grandfather gifted yall for your flooring . Yall are very blessed .
Watching this family makes me yearn for being close and sharing the lives of my loved ones. They all live a plane ride away, so I am here in my home of 52 years . Treasure every moment. as I can see you all do. And being 5 minutes away form Hillside Farm is a true blessing.
What an exciting and fun time watching this video with you. Ruth, you are so like my daughter-in-law and I love how you bring us in to your lives. More than a few WOWS. Can’t wait for more. ❤️
Y’all are the sweetest family ever! How I appreciate your love and faith and desire to help each other make dreams come true Saying the blessing at dinner was the highlight ❤
This woman has zero bounds lol “We snuck in and got measurements for this Picture the size of your entire house and here I want you to hang it where it’s the first thing people see when they come in” 😆
What a beautiful story...a beautiful home and family...thank you for honoring our Great God in praying together, praising Him for His goodness to us...
Great job parents & children showing that love, support, respect for each other & giving thanks to God always reflect good results. Beautiful home! God’s blessings for a happy life together.🙏🏽❤️
I have always enjoyed watching Ruth's videos of home cooked meals, family and friends gatherings. Now to experience this wonderful new chapter of their daughter and her husband's home renovation and transformation. What a loving family. I will be looking forward to watching more videos of Ruth and her family.
I love these videos… and what a transformation in the house. Thank you for sharing and for being real about your faith. Loved seeing the family pray together. I’m looking forward to another Ruth McKeaney video they are one of my favourites. God bless you and your family Ruth as I’m sure He already has.
I wish I've had her parents. When you are at that age you think you know everything but later on you learn that you know nothing ... beautiful family ❤
I loved this video. Congrats on making such a beautiful home and to have the help of your dad and hubs. Really special. I loved hearing your husband and daughter talking to us. Love all your videos, keep it up.
Loved this video. So wonderful to see the love of this family. I was so touched at the Father daughter relationship. Beautiful family. How awesome that this young couple were blessed with this home to start their life together. Thank you for sharing.
I love beautiful curtains. They frame the room and afford privacy. They can be opened in the daytime to look in light. But it's wonderful to be able to remodle your own beautiful home.❤

Incredible podcast of a family who “LOVE WELL” 💞 This is one of my top 3 Homeworthy podcast. KUDOS for a job well done. God Bless your new home and your life together. Sending you much love from my home here in Parker, Colorado 🩷👆✝️👆🩷
I always love Ruth's videos!! Her daughter's home turned out beautifully and how special to work on it with her dad. 😊 I must try these cookies soon. 😉
🌹🌳🏡🌳🌹 This spirited family- journey, reminds me of the proverbs that teaches us to think on the good things life has to offer; remain in gratitude & always remember that in life - Family is the most important treasure we've been given. You have guarded your family well. Applause. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I planted a Wisteria, our first spring in our front yard in Toronto, I also planted Giant Allium 32 years ago. The Wisteria has bloomed every single year and I, going to propagate it for my sisters, the Allium has self seeded itself down the block and around the corner. I do love Volunteers! Those are rugs speaking are so nicely to each other.
I love 💗 to see families like this, Alex is a young woman who speaks up, love that, mom is for sure a wonderful homemaker, dad is a engineer absolutely 💯 , wonderful taste in decorating mom, your home is beautiful too and you are a great cook, teaching your daughter how to cook. But maybe Chris will show her how 😂😂😂 I also loved the way Chris just was ready to go and take part, and grandpa added beauty with those bricks, everyone shared something 😊😊😊 I love the way you all get along, please stay that way, you’re a beautiful family, enjoyed this video, thank you!!!!!😊😊😊❤
Ruth - You’re a star! I Your book is fantastic. I predict incredible blessings coming your way. Not only do you share house and garden knowledge, but also a philosophy on how to live well without being preachy. I love your casual style. Thank you for sharing your daughter and son-in-law’s beautiful house. Your family has transformed it into a home. In terms of spent allium you can spray paint them any color and they look dazzling in centerpieces. Gold or silver is best. The idea appeared Christopher Spitzmiller’s book, however, Martha was the very first to do it. On Homeworthy, Barbara McLaughlin (owns J McLaughlin) shows her painted allium (during a Christmas episode).
College students purchasing houses and going on not one but two honeymoons… Let them eat half-baked cookies I guess. (Also lol at the Dad’s Freudian slip, ‘when we bought the house…’)

Deb here. How lucky to have parents that are willing and able to help.
I truly understand how things can become overwhelming to someone who never did any kind of renovation. But he is such a good sport to stick it out and to have the courage to stick it out. They all did a wonderful job at renovating this gorgeous house. Congratulations to Chris and Alex.
That prayer at thr end, just touched my heart. Beautiful homes and beautiful family. May the Father turn his face towards them and give them peace.

reminds me of how i am with my mother always looking for her guidance in design and letting her take the lead cause i love to learn and observe 🥰💜
It's hard to stop mothering, when you have adult children, but a little boundaries go a long way.
This woman has zero bounds lol “We snuck in and got measurements for this Picture the size of your entire house and here I want you to hang it where it’s the first thing people see when they come in” 😆
Don’t forget this is a show, I’m sure they had it all planned out ahead of time!

He’s very patient for intrusive in-laws
Very true! It seem like he was paying for the house, but his young wife keeps saying "my house", "my bedroom",...
@@a.p.8330HER parents bought it for them thats why the mom decorated it to her liking and puts son in law in the corner.
It’s only the beginning- lol
