@@eSingCZindeed as the QNH is 1026 that means that standard pressure 1013 is 13 HPa less 13 x 30ft = 390feet that they will lose when changing the setting Idk if this is enough for the clip or that it’s just an editing mistake
One of the very best detailed pre-flight briefings I've seen. Also, the rapport and respect that the Captain had with his fellow flight crew and cabin crew, was exemplary. Finally, flying that beautiful A340-300 was simply the icing on the cake! A big thank you to all of the Swiss crew, for making this exceptional video.
What a great video, thank you for allowing us to see what happens behind the curtains. Just speechless, the level of professionalism shown by the captain, copilot and first officer is indisputable
I really enjoyed listening to the flight planning and in-flight discussions on fuel consumption vs other factors. Beautiful scenery during the arrival phase into the Bay area!
I did literally devoure the entire clip in one solution without any interruption. Things like this can enreach one's addiction in aviation. I enjoyed it way more than a lot of boring movies out there. It's fun, it's professional, it's in the sky. Thanks for the amazing experience.
Such a pleasant flight with a wonderful crew ! I'm starting the Swiss selection process to become a pilot in a few weeks. I hope to have the opportunity to fly with them one day. :-)
When listening to Pilots communicating with each other it reminds Me of My Ex-Partner in regards to having to repeat things all the time. These Videos are Brilliant as it shows the average person of what it's really like being a pilot and when You are sitting on a Plane going on Holiday or travelling on business you don't understand how much effort has happened so you can travel to your destination.
Great video!!! Loved seeing my ex-hometowns (San Francisco and San Mateo) from high above. Captain and his flight crew were outstanding and much respect for all of them!
This experience for me was so perfect. The crew, what can I say!! The best. I loved every second and believe IM learning something each flight. This captain is extraordinary. I so admire what they do. So brilliant, so cool under extreme pressure.
So enjoyed watching this flight 😊. Lovely views of Frisco and the airport, reminding me of my previous holidays there. The captain obviously enjoyed going back there!
Wonderful Cockpit (Crew) Resource Management. Great atmosphere, calm, communicative. So much of what the pilots do is planning for "What if?" scenarios before take-off and en-route. The workshare and decision making exemplifies the legendary Jurgen Raps words that an ideal cockpit team has a chain of command but it shouldn't be too strong.
*I hate to be the odd one out on this wonderful flight, but I must say that the view of San Francisco from eleven thousand feet on a clear and sunny day is the most beautiful sight in the world. However, at ground level, it can be quite unpleasant and even hazardous if you don't watch where you step.*
Excellent,or should I say that was just...well,excellent!Kinda emotional though, which reminds me Jurgen Rapps last flight, also the weather was a part of it,so this flight has been perfect!
The professionalism exudes from all pilots, so much technical information I now feel I could fly that 340 beast myself, LOL. Oh, BTW, the gentleman pilot is soo classy!
I love the way how this captain and his board make the Job. Quality need Time to be prepare and make well the mission or a good job. it is not to do something, we speak about doing well, that s another vision of a practice. Congratulations cptain
So if it cost fuel to carry fuel why is saving fuel already in the tanks during a goal ? If you land with too much fuel that means you miscalculated and made the plane heavier than it needed to be in essence requiring more fuel to power
Because flight plan fuel has to include a % extra for contingencies such as, for example, ATC not being able to allocate your requested flight level and/or inaccurate winds etc. ETOPS planning also has to include such contingencies as emergency descent in event of pressurisation failure requiring flying well below optimum level which means higher fuel burn. Another reason for arriving with “extra” fuel is shorter ATC routings but the plan has to assume full track mileage. Also professional and experienced pilots can manage the aircraft in many ways to reduce fuel burn.
J will continue to follow us next for now I have to do other congratulation at two pilot and good arrive at airport of San Francisco from the south of Italy ❤❤❤❤
Swiss precision and craftmanship in the cockpit. A couple of years ago, I flew in economy with Swiss on a long haul night-flight to Asia. A code share with SIN and a brilliant expirience. After dinner service, the cabin crew placed a few bottles of water and a few apples in the galley and they all disappeared. Puff! No one to be seen until the next morning. (Or they had just a good way of hiding.....) The year before, I took the same flight with Singapore Airlines, operated by SIN itself. During the whole time of the flight, we always had a very friendly and welcoming crew available. Along with fruits/-juices, a variety of sandwiches and water. Go figure!
The FO is not listening to or answering the Captain's questions on final approach. Yes! Communicate with ATC but for Pete's sake answer the captain's questions to his concerns! Also what's with the "yup" for an answer? In closing, what a fabulous captain!!

I'm amazed how calm and professional the pilots are! They make such a complex procedure look simple and routine!!!

One of the best in-fight Videos. The detailed technical and operational explanations by the Captain are very hepful indeed and appreciated. Thank you.
Pilot (POC) knows his stuff and is a great pilot. He still loves flying after 30 years. Can only hope to have pilots like this guy.

How old is this? Swiss flies a 777 on this route now don’t they?
They do, yes. I guess the video is probably more than 5 years old, maybe even 10. Somebody mentioned the United 747 in the old livery.

I heard the FO respond to all the Captains queries, sometimes with slight delay due to his speaking with the ATC. Appeared to be good communication.
