I feel like it's hard to make a "what if everything went perfect for America" story without just repeating the current timeline.
Well, there were some mishaps that were addressed here in the video that were modified to favor America.
That's why the map didn't change too much.
@@toddhoward1892 its also pretty hard to quantify and visualize soft power on a map
The US dollars 💸 have been the Murica since France 🇫🇷 unsuccessfully send their warship to collect their sovereign gold unsuccessfully from Murica.. 😂..
well we did stalemate the war of 1812 and also ended reconstruction far earlier than we should have
It would be cool to see this with a weaker/smaller country
if everything went perfect Bulgaria taking the First Balkan War as the starting point, how strong could this small nation realisticially become? And stuff like that
Amazing idea!
Takes Prussia of the Balkans to a whole new level
Sounds perfect! I'll schedule Bulgaria next, always had a soft spot for the Balkan underdog.

"In 1914 the best case for the United States actually came true. Europe had decided to set itself on fire." lol 🤣😂
The funny thing about this is that it changes very little overall. The only modern day differences are that the U.S. has more territory in North America, China doesn't go communist, and North Korea collapses. Shows how the U.S. in our timeline still essentially had everything go right for it.
If things went perfect for the US it would have gone communist
And yet they've still managed to screw it all up now.
@@Nerdvanna98nope, believe it or not it’s still the most successful “empire”. Politically tho I’m sure both sides are probably going to say America is doomed
But china not going communist is a huge deal, considering that's probably America's great military rival currently
@@KoopstaKlicca Economic rival* China's military power isnt catching up anytime soon.
The US did attempt to purchase Cuba in the 1850s this seems like a change that could be easily achieved
Or the USA could have annex Cuba in the Spanish American war. No communist so then no missle crisis.
@@eidoneverchoosen1171 i think that was assumed in this scenario
Looking back at countries just being purchased is very strange lol
@@osheridan Cuba was not a country in the 1850s back then the US made offers to purchase Cuba from Spain
@@hs5312 you're right, I mean looking back in context
Isn't the story of the US already one where they did things right and/or were lucky?
yes this is just more luck
Basically they had no competition in their own region allowing then to exert influence outside of the Americas
the only thing that could've gone better for them and had a significant impact on history after it would be the war of 1812.
Luck is the strongest force in life.
Yes but this is going FURTHER BEYOND
I'd like to see one with Spain starting from the 1700s to the 1900s. Poor guy couldn't get a break at the end.
It could be a based timeline
Greater Spanish Empire!
Naw from the 1400’s
@@Mf_Slimeee That'd be amazing. But I believe it'd be too much time to cover.
honestly it would be cool to see if Spain could continue staying a super power, and sure while they were struggling, I think one way to change this is basically make spain unaffected by the napoleonic wars, because that’s why Spain lost a lot of it’s colonies and began becoming weaker and weaker, but if Spain avoided that then they could’ve been in a better situation
3:40 If I'm not mistaken the Northern Mexican states were underpopulated at this time so I reckon the USA could've possibly got Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nueva Leon and Tamaulipas too.
There was one problem with that, slave states.
Ew but you’re right
Those states would had been economically developed at the least.
@@eidoneverchoosen1171and no heavy cartel control
Polk and others wanted all of Mexico, the counter argument was racism.
Racism saved Mexico.
It's crazy just how close this timeline is to ours.
1 loss turned to a win (and some ofthe natural consequences of it)
And 1 civil war breaking in a different direction, seems to be all seriously separates them from us.
The crazy thing is that 1812 is probably the only real improvement to the USA's standing, since taking Canada would lead to taking more of Mexico. Everything past that is either relatively minor gains or delving into the realm of semi-historical fanfiction. As fun as it is to imagine the entirety of Latin America and Europe steadily offering themselves to become states following the Spanish American War and WWII, or Liberia actually being a foothold in the scramble for Africa, or a complete annexation of Japan and later Korea and Vietnam as an overcharged hegemony, disbelief needs to be suspended and that doesn't usually include Australia hopping on the bandwagon of former British colonies joining an alternate history USA.
I actually disagree. Northern Democrats and Republicans absolutely hated the idea of annexing half of Mexico because it’d give more power to the southern states. With Canada under the union, I feel the Mexican American war would have obviously still resulted in an American victory, but the US wouldn’t have taken as much land due to cultural reasons and the political climate in the US.
@@restitutororbis964Republican party didnt even exist then lol
Even an Imperialist USA wouldn’t annex Japan, Korea, Or Vietnam. It was never in there interest to do so. These places have WAY more native populations than the Philippines, infact, Japan only had around 50 million less people than America proper at the time. Not to mention all 3 (well atleast Japan and Korea) were industrialized. Everything else is atleast plausible, even if unlikely.
This series has so much potential

What are the Germans planning in here
@@orangfriut1994 They a just a viewer of mine asking questions here for some resason lol
What if Napoleon III won the Franco-Prussian war and the Second French Empire survived into the 21st Century?
Now that's an interesting story.
No German empire and Napoleon's legacy carries on.
He'd be seen as a higher being or god and people would mostly listen to him with no question.
that war was pretty much doomed from the start tho, napoleon had basically no proper army since they all died in russia and he was forced to spread his already poor army very thin, he had no chance. a better what-if would be what if he hadn't invaded russia at all
Edit: nvm wrong napoleon and wrong war thought you were talking about 1813

This is a great series, can't wait for UK, Austria-Hungary, Italy, Spain, and the like.
Austria-Hungary was already everything going wrong, really the Scenario where everything goes right would be Austria centralises the HRE, the Spanish keep there Empire together, the Habsburg Houses reunite, the French be given a Habsburg Monarch, the Western Roman Empire reborn, expanding into the east, World Conquest.... or along those lines.
Colombia with Gran Colombia would go crazy
Spain with their viceroyalties already would be awesome
@Not_even_known_yet yeah, facts man, a world where everything goes right for Austria-Hungary is crazy
@@not_even_known_yet3167 I would've also said Austria under Charles V would be a much better scenario. A world where everything went right for Austria-Hungary would be basically a partitioned Serbia, full Austro-Hungarian influence in the Balkans, and Italy being defeated (A-H had plans to attack Italy). However, A-H was an already declining country.
Not too different from our own timeline, even though the changes you made at the beginning could’ve butterflied into radically different timelines.
Dang, great work as always! In only a month or so, you have managed to become one of my favorite Alternate History channels! Do best case scenario for Paraguay next! I really want to see how far Paraguay could've gone if they won the war of the tripple alliance!
Best case for Paraguay is to attack Argentina only and unify La Plata. Considering how many years Paraguay managed to face off against the Alliance, it's not unreasonable to imagine a scenario where Solano Lopez marches on Buenos Aires and declares himself President of La Plata with the help of Argentinian Federales, assuming Brazil stands neutral.
he already made a video about Paraguay: What if paraguay became the Prussia of South America?
It's kinda like "what if everything went perfectly for the roman city state" it's basically what happened, but maybe slightly better
=United States of North America=

Changes:
1. Changed name from USA to USNA
2. Inhabitated territories + D.C. are now states
3. Added Official languages

DC was purposefully not made a state due to it being the capital, they didn't want one state to have the capital
Also some of our (USA) territory has a population of 0
What if when the US realized that Britain and France were increasingly unable to pay their loans after WW1, US decided to simply cancel the loans? In return for a lot of real estate, obviously. Maybe France having to give up Indochina, W Africa etc. while Britain giving up S Africa, Rhodesia, Gibraltar, etc.
Yes! I love this new series of yours. For the next one do what if everything went perfectly for Austria following Franz Joseph's ascension in 1848😊😊😊
Do it with Italy (or the Roman Empire).
Do the Roman Empire one but only after the empire was split by Theodosius the Great.
That scenario might much more interesting since the Romans would have to face much more challenges than say having the scenario start from Augustus
No, do it for mussolinis italy, and then africa will become a big brazilian style melting pot :v , I wanna see jolof rizotto rice darn it!

Interesting. Good point about "soft power" having a significant impact geopolitically.
In other words, basically every game of Victoria II I've ever played.
i really like this genre of yours!
A fun contrast to your Three North American Superpowers video.
I think the only thing that would make the US more dominant would be not if the nationalists won in China, but it came to more of a draw with the nationalists in the south and the PRC in the north. They could both industrialize and become more capitalist while still having tense relations, but maybe the US could play the diplomat and keep peace between the two while reaping good trade relations from them both, but neither could become a superpower.
Really nice video, very entertaining to watch lol. Btw I was wondering, could you perhaps do Czechoslovakia (starting with the Czechoslovak legions during WW1) someday?
I love this series! I think an interesting country to do this with would actually be Greece. I think having a Greece which completely wins the Greco-Turkish war establishing Megali Greece could have some really interesting impacts, especially during World War 2.
Greece becomes a great power with the annexation of Anatolia and established relationships with Armenians and Assyrians and possibly wage war against Arabs Muslims to support the Eastern Christians
If greece would achieve megali, germany would probably invade what's left of turkey as a way to strike at the middle east and caucasus.
@@alejandromaldonado6159 even for a “everything goes perfect” video thats MEGA delusion
@@oyungogdfrust4136 Yeah I can see them annexing the western Anatolian coast and later Cyprus, plus having all of their neighbors significantly weakened in some way, making them a regional power, but I just cannot see them becoming a Great Power, at least in the 20th and probably 21st century.
@@KaiHung-wv3ulThere's actually three points of history you could use:
1) mega Alexander doesn't die
2) The Byzantine empire doesn't get involved in the Eichonomachy .
3) The modern one where Benizelos doesn't lose in the elections
And the thing is that it's possible to imagine that since most of the time it was bad luck that lead to the downfall (Alexander dying and Benizelos losing) as opposed to actual bad descicions (Eichonomachy)
Here are some exciting ideas for future alternate history scenarios:
What if the Hohenzollern were the ones to rule the Holy Roman Empire instead of the Hapburgs? Since the Hohenzollerns were Margraves of Brandenburg, a principality of the HRE from 1157 to 1806 that played a pivotal role in the history that formed Germany and around central Europe. And there were monarchs and Kings in Prussia ( 1701-1772). In 1701, the title of King in Prussia was granted without having a duchy title. The Duchy of Prussia is usually placed higher as a kingdom within Poland but recognized as a kingdom by the Holy Roman Emperor due to the time when monarchs were believed to be given divine right to rule their kingdoms or empires, the highest sovereign in the West. Is there the slightest chance the Hohenzollerns will win the election for HRE
( Holy Roman Emperor) and become the new dynasty in the HRE ( Holy Roman Empire)? If so, how could the Hohenzollerns win the election for the emperorship for the HRE, and which members of the Hohenzollern dynasty are the best candidates for Holy Roman Emperor? What would the HRE under the Hohenzollerns instead of the Hapburg dynasty be like, and would the HRE be centralized and possibly united Germany in the middle ages?
What if Ethiopia, under the Solomic dynasty, manages to unify Africa during the pre-scamble of the African era? Ethiopia was known for resisting European colonization and was one of the first African empires to defeat a European power, Italy, during the Second Italo- Ethiopian War, resulting from the Ethiopian War winning the Second Italo-Ethiopan War. Similar to how the Japanese defeated the Russians during the Russo-Japanese War. Ethiopia was not known for that. Before Ethiopia was an empire before the Solomic ever took the mantle as Emperor, Ethiopia used to control a sizeable territorial state and access to vast trade routes linking the Roman Empire to the Middle East and India. What would be the perfect opportunity for the Ethiopian Empire to unite Africa or some of it? Is it either West, South, North, or East Africa? How could the Ethiopians unite the African kingdoms and empires to sway them to join their cause against European colonization? Would there be a united Africa under the Solomonic dynasty or a federation of African kingdoms and empires become states, similar to the German Confederation?
What if Joan of Arc had been rescued instead of being burned at the stake for heresy and had managed to unite all of France and the French people to drive the English out of France? Could this victory and her survival in one piece make Joan of Arc Queen of France? If you don't think so, please explain to me why. But if Joan of Arc was created to become the Queen of France, what would history be like, and what France be like under Jaon of Arc as Queen of France? Would there be a royal House of Joan of Arc in France? How would it be possible with the House of Valois being the current royal house of France, and how would the nobility and aristocrats see Joan of Arc as the Queen of a united France?
What if Novgorod became the leading power it was and could unify Russia instead of Muscovy? How Russia be like under Novogord as the capital, and what type of government would Russia be like? Would there be a Tsar of Russia or a Grand Prince of Russia? Because Novgorod did have grand princes, they were elected. And how this change for the rest of World History with Russia united by Novgorod, and what were the consequences of it?
What if the Marathas under the Bhonsle dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Mewar and united India during the 11th century instead of the 16th century? And is it possible for a united India to expand outside the Indian subcontinent to its next borders in South Asia or beyond its borders in South Asia? What makes this alternate time interesting is the Marathas forming an alliance with the Byzantine Empire by having one of the Chhaparti ( Emperor) marry a Byzantine princess from the Macedonian dynasty. The question is, what would be the purpose of the alliance, and how this alliance be beneficial for both the Marathas and the Byzantines? And how many people react to this marriage, and which ones will respond to it and be against it, and for what reasons?
Would the union between the Maratha and the Byzantines form an Indo-Roman Empire, a Maratha-Byzantine Empire, or just the Byzantine Empire with a different dynasty? And would the Marthas be able to rule both Constantinople in Byzantium and India at the same time? Would there be co-rulers of this empire, or you don't think a realm like this wouldn't be possible.
What if Joanna Elisabeth of Holstein, the mother of Catherine of The Great, had not died in exile but became a regent for grandson Paul I of Russia? There have been some speculations that Catherine the Great wasn't a good mother to her two children and only used them as a political investment and never had an emotional connection to them. If Joanna Elisbateh had returned from exile and made herself a regent for Paul or Alexi, possibly Paul? The question is, how would Joanna become the regent of her first-born grandson? Would she be the mother figure Paul wanted from Catherine, or she just be emotionally manipulative and exploit Paul's "behavior issues" to control him with her with real power or overthrow Paul and make herself the new monarch of Russia?
Which scenarios do you like best, Mr. Possible, and which are your favorites, and which ones have you never heard of in the alternate history community.
Also, have you ever heard of Rani Lakshimbal, aka Rani of Jhansi?
I would love to see a video about the Hohenzollerns too but it's because they're an inside joke with my friend from an EU4 game so I think it would be funny to see a video about them

Funny thing is, in 1812, the british that arrived to "help" arrived 2 years late in 1814. The war in Canada was already over and ended with the burning the Washington DC. So, the British not willing to return without doing anything went to invade Florida and suffered a humiliating defeat.... Your version of the Florida landing was actually pretty accurate with reality.
This channel is really underrrated.
I like how this timeline is mostly just "what if the war of 1812 wasn't a draw"
3 part Alternate Post ww1
What if Imperial Federation formed.
What if the US of Austria formed.
What if the Ottman Empire was Partitioned, allowing for a Resurgent Byzantium.
I wonder what a “What if everything went TERRIBLE” video on the US would look like
The Usa doesn’t win the independence war and Poseidon skins the entire American continent into the sea almost certainly causing America to never rise to power.
US lost to the British, the end
If they kept the Articles of Confederation and broke up soon after.
I mean there would just never be a USA. Without French support and propaganda, any attempts at independence would be quickly shut down by the UK.
Even if we start in 1812, in the worst case the USA pisses of France enough that the English and French temporarily stop fighting to instead take care of the USA. Then quickly the USA is attacked from multiple sides by different colonial powers and divided between them in a scramble for North America.
😅
Britain would now be the largest nation on Earth🇬🇧 🇬🇧
1. I think it’s interesting that you have Canada joining the US after the war of 1812. I personally think it would’ve been more likely for those colonies to join the American revolution instead because they had the option to at the time.
2. I thought that the US made an offer to purchase Greenland in 1867 but they declined. I also didn’t know Iceland was also up for grabs at any point.
3. The US also talked about purchasing Jamaica, Belize, and the rest of the West Indies Federation in the early 1900s, so I agree it makes sense that they might’ve bundled them with Greenland instead.
4. When the US won the Spanish-American war, this is also when they got Guam irl!
This is an awesome video and I’d love to see more! One thing I’ve wondered is what would statehood look like for those territories, and currently controversial territories like Puerto Rico and Washington DC.

Basically a video on a country which could never become a super power or evan influencial irl but in a perfect world could become a great power.
Nice video. I would like to see the same happening to Austria in a future video. It would be great as Austria was pretty much the great power with the worst luck ever.
The remarkable thing is, this doesn't even change very much. You could say that things already went 90% perfectly for the US, aside from getting large swaths of mostly frozen wasteland.
Yes. Besides what was stated in this video I would have also added America having a nuclear monopoly for an extra several years.
The only major changes I can think of here are the US gaining Canada from the War of 1812 and China being under control of the Nationalists. And really only the latter has major consequences for today given Canada and the US are enough allies that whether Canada was under direct US control or not doesn't really matter. China being under the Communists is what allowed the occurrence of the Korean War (and the 38th parallel split still there today), Vietnam War (and the fall of Saigon), and the current looming second Cold War with China and Russia.
@@gameragodzillahe new cold war between China and US will happen even in this timeline simply because of china's sheer size and manpower. They still will want to be the ruler of Asia and will not like America's dominance in asia.
What might be different is a democratic china would be less expansionist, improving it's relations with its neighbours (particularly india). Allowing it to be seen more friendly and welcomed in southeast Asia and india significantly reducing american influence here

5:50 Bit of a correction, but there actually has been at least one proposal from the U.S to buy at least Greenland from Denmark. It was after WW2 where the U.S occupied Greenland, and the U.S offered about $100 million for it, Denmark refused.
There were discussions in 1867, 1910, and 2019. With an actual proposal in the amount of $100M ($1B inflated) in 1946 that was denied. So you are correct there.

Can you consider the following scenario: "Alternate United and Peaceful Balkan nations in the 19th and 20th century"
For example:
-No Bulgaro-Serbian war in 1885
-The Second Balkan war doesn't happen, because there are slight border changes of the treaty(Serbia gets Adriatic coast, Bulgaria gets undisputed part of Macedonia promised in the Treaty, Greece gets Southern Albania, Albania gets parts of southwestern Kosovo) and thus the Balkan union is preserved
-In ww1 the five Balkan nations fight on the same side and vecause of that we get a different treaty, that means Trianon is not so harsh and Hungary keeps parts of Southern Slovakia and Northern Transylvania, Bulgaria gets the entire region of Macedonia and Eastern Thrace, Greece gets the part of Western Anatolia(which it didn't preserve in the OTL), Serbia makes Yugoslavia without Macedonia and parts of Kosovo(as discussed earlier) and Romania gets Banat, Southern Transylvania and Besserabia;
-In ww2 the only possible candidate for the Hungarians Might be Hungary, hungry for old land, but I digress, because they don't want a repeat of ww1, four against one, so the borders will probably remain the same after electric boogaloo;
-If Hungary didn't join the Axis, the only communist nations in the Cold war might be Hungary(75%) and Romania (99%, and they will be stripped out of Moldova), because the Soviets will bring Communism to the closest nationa to them, while Bulgaria, Greece and Yugoslavia join Nato(now that I think of it, Hungary might become the Yugoslavia of our timeline, the neutral state together with Austria, very funny😂)
-After the cold war we get the same picture, no bloody conflicts on the Balkans hopefully in the 21th century and everybody lives happily ever after, for now!

In this scenario, wouldn't it be better for the US to keep the Philippines just in-case they needed a forward base in Asia? Two of the largest nation, population-wise, are in Asia, so surely a huge territory there would be nice to contain the possible rise of competition.
In reality the US already has ports and bases in several countries in East Asia.
Not saying owning the Philippines would be bad or good, just realistically the US wouldn't need to own them to build up a substantial force in that area, as our reality being the proof.
my brother in crist... the us does keep the Philippines, the us navy, airforce, army, marines all have their own bases in Philippines.
And that two countries are the only countries that would probably beat USA in every field. Russia is gone case. EU is already a puppet. Japan not powerful enough same for Indonesia and Brazil
i’d say the russians would actually probably be allied to the united states, assuming gorbachev does what he needs to do
Very interesting - I totally agree with most of your assumptions. One thing that I would change in your rosy history is the time of acquisition of Cuba. During the lead-up to the Civil War, there were several groups who wanted to annex Cuba and make it another state. In the real timeline, one of the main reasons for rejecting that proposal was it would upset the balance between slave and free states... this was also why we didn't acquire more of Mexico during the 1840s. Since your timeline shows us expanding farther into Mexico and having all of Canada (presumably as free states), I think the chances that we would annex (or just buy) Cuba would be near certain.
this is just real history with a couple very minor changes
True, bascially how it is today but with small changes in the past like the war with Mexico, the outcome is the same today

Omg its true that every alternate history channel has the same voice xD nice video
This is great
Please do what if everything went good for the Netherlands! Dat zou erg leuk zijn!
Do one for the Qing Dynasty next!!!
Interesting perspective and the timeline doesn’t require a major shifting of events. Though, two important events I think would have gone differently.
First, the annexation of Canada. While I know domestic affairs were kept the same, the incorporation of Canada would have greatly impacted the domestic politics and the fate of the civil war. A different set of possibilities would have appeared, first anti-slave states would have gained political advantage in the legislature to not only prevent the expansion of slavery, but also start passing laws to outlaw or restrict aspects of slavery impacting other states (I.e. abolishing fugitive slave laws, imposing taxes on goods produced by slave labor). The South at this point would be outvoted on everything by the late-1820s when the Canadian states would be admitted. Either a peaceful resolution would have been worked out (such as gradual emancipation) or it would have forced a conflict by the late 1830s. The annexation of parts of Mexico would be too far off in the future to be used as a compromise for maintaining the North-South legislative balance. If, according to the video’s scenario with Mexico, the result of the Mexican-American War is getting more slave states in former Mexican territory, it would be a lot harder to impose. Mexico abolished slavery gradually starting in 1821 and then fully by 1837, the population that the US is inheriting would not only not be super welcoming of the new rulers, but bringing back slavery would not go over well. The new Mexican possessions would be rebellious despite their sparse population, and those regions are known historically as being a great place for rebellious activity.
The second major even that would have played out differently is the post WWI settlement. The interwar period had a lot going on and if the US were to roll 20 in every geopolitical scenario, then the US would have joined the League of Nations. This would have put more power behind the organization and might have prevented aspects of the rise of fascism in Europe. This would warrant an entire video for just this situation.
Otherwise a great thought experiment and very interesting.
I know this has been out for a while, but a date in the corner, even if its just the year every so often, would be nice
It honestly went pretty perfectly. Or at least as good as you could expect without cheats
The rest of the world: Dude... Uncool
Do this for the Kingdom of Italy from unification to the late 20th century
Surprised you didn't touch on the Filibusters in Central America, or William Walker's near conquest of the area.
If the US Congress had given Walker troops, then the region would have been, if not US territories, then under the US sphere.
I would like too see this scenario for North Korea, the Qing Dynasty,Roman empire, and Yugoslavia. :)
Very cool video, however I'm disappointed you haven't considered US influence after WW1 possibly turning WW2 on it's head. The US supported the idea of deciding borders based on ethnic lines. This would make a possibly stronger Germany probably still falling to a political extreme over Alsace-Lorraine but most likely putting Hungary on the Allied side for WW2 and other stuff I'm too braindead to think of. This american WW1 peace ideal would be more easily achieved if the US was a colossal power like in the video. I get it though that these are super hypothetical and unnecessarily complicated concepts which is why they are not explored, but would've appreciated if you mentioned the wacky possibilities.
Great video. Can you do a What if Canada got everything it wanted
Maybe you could make a video if history went perfect for Italy starting maybe from its unification with Sardinia-Piedmont after the Napoleonic wars
Hope you do this for britain or france
Counter-proposal for the “best case” scenario for the US, regarding post-WW2 China.
Mao is able to establish a communist regime in Manchuria, but not push beyond there, and an armistice is reached, with a red “North China” and a western-aligned “South China.” The conflict also results in Chiang Kai Shek being unable to secure Xinjiang or Tibet, so those regions are independent.
As the Cold War goes on, Mao leans into a Manchu identity to help distinguish his regime from the rest of China. By the end of the CW, its obvious there is a “Republic of China” and a “Republic of Manchuria” and, even if Manchuria liberalizes, nobody seriously thinks about them rejoining China.
8:06 Kaiser Wilhelm II jump scare
Please do this scenario for: Japan, Spain, Hungary and Morocco.
Do it for France, they had so many opportunities to become the sole superpower but obviously wasted those opportunities
I’m waiting for what if everything went perfect for Brazil
Me too
😎@@Joao_Victor753
Maybe try Napoleonic France next
Please make one of these about Brazil
