It was amazing what happened when you sanded that embossing! That was like a magic trick! The butterfly page was beautiful. You are so clever and creative! Thanks, Kathleen!
Thank you my friend! It feels like magic to me too, every time. I love sandpaper, haha! Thanks for coming by!
My favorite crafting is taking something and repurpose it to something else. This is wonderful
Thank you Stormy!
They are all very cute and functional! I just love watching you craft and listening to your calm teaching voice…thank you, Kathleen.
So kind Donna! Thanks very much!
I knew I saved my Christmas cards for a reason! I always enjoy watching you craft Kathleen!
It was nice to see Kate's face...I miss watching her videos. I hope she and her family are doing well!
Oh thank you Kerri! How fun that you recognized Kate, she is a sweetheart. Yes they are well, just really busy, as most young families are now. Thank you!
Kathleen, I love, love, love this! What a transformation from something most people would throw away! Well done!
Thank you so much Carolyn! I’m glad you like it!

@@tfntexas Thanks so much Tammie! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you, Kathleen. Wonderful results! I appreciate viewing how you achieve depth in all of the pieces. You’ve certainly altered the original cards so that they’re no longer just used for Christmas. 😀💞
My pleasure Keryn! I’m always relieved when the results are wonderful, haha.
Fabulous video! I do save and use my Christmas cards, but usually in Christmas journals. This video was great, as I hadn’t thought of altering them for use in other journals! Thanks for sharing. 😃❤️
Glad it was helpful Elaine! I had fewer to choose from this year, haha. I appreciate those who send me cards.
I love watching you transform these. I would have never thought to do this❤️
Thank you Erika! I’m glad you enjoyed this!
I have seen your emboss and sand many times but I don’t think I have seen you emboss after sanding and then sanding the embossed. So many possibilities. This has been great repurposing of cards.
Put a piece of sandpaper in my hand and you just don’t know what to expect! Thanks Alice!
I'm amazed at what you can do to those cards Kathleen! Wonderful friend!🥰
Oh thanks Nancy! Thanks for your time this morning!
Never seen anyone sanding before, its amazing. Off to raid my husband's sandpaper. Thank you for sharing such a cool technique ❤
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Love the end results. Very beautiful. I would never be able to cover up the page with the deer in the journal, though. It's such a lovely page and I would always know what I was missing.
I know, right! sometimes we make hard decisions, haha. Thankfully there are three more of those pages! Thanks for coming by!
Love the yellow and greens and the flip card. They all turned out very nice. Thanks for the video.
You are so welcome Karen! Thanks for watching.
Great as always, Kathleen! I can learn something new in EVERY video from yours. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful work :-)
Thank you so much Andrea! I’m glad to hear this.
Always my pleasure and you always get me excited to run to my craft room.
Oh that’s a good sign Dawn! I hope you have a crafty day!
These ideas are great. It’s a reminder to me to sand after embossing. Love the look. 💖
I can’t wait to see a flip through of this journal. It’s adorable! 💖💖
Thanks so much Deb! That little bit of sanding at the end really enhances the emboss, though I had to be a bit careful because of the napkin.
Such a great idea to use up cards, so creative. Love the over the page hinged pockets. TY for sharing.
My pleasure Chris! Thanks for stopping by!
Love, love, love! Great ideas for other cards too, like birthday or other holiday cards. I especially liked the over the page one. Gave me an idea :) Thank you, Kathleen!
Oh I’m glad to hear that Jennilee - that why I’m on here! Glad to spark an idea!
Thanks so much for sharing this fun and easy project!! Hugs
Thank you my sweet friend! I appreciate you!
I love using sandpaper, but keep forgetting about it. I really love how everything turned out. Very Lovely. Thank you for sharing these with us. I could cry as I got rid of 99% of my old cards a couple years prior to me starting junk journals. I did get more free ones from the tent not too long ago so now I now what I will do with them TYVMFS ☺♥
You are so welcome Joan! Don’t we ALL wish that we had known what we needed that for when we discarded it, haha! I’m glad you have the tent!
No kidding. All depends upon the weather tmrw if I can go check out the tent or not for more goodies. I'm lucky if I make it there once every 2 months in the last year.
What a wow of an idea! Love the results.
Why thank you! I’m hope you’ll try it.

🎉💜Wonderful, I love watching your beautiful ideas 💖🌟💝
Thank you so much Thania! I’m glad you came by!
I enjoy so much watching your process and tips, as new to this and watching journal makers it appears that junk journaling requires many expensive pieces of equipment and supplies so your methods like coffee dyeing simplify things thank you
I’m glad this is useful. Yes, there is a very wide variety of books we make, isn’t there and sometimes it is discouraging when we don’t have the right stuff to follow along. I’m pretty much a mixture here. I have some pretty cool stuff, but I also like using junk when I can. Thanks so much for stopping by. I have a playlist of using affordable supplies, etc. if you are looking for that specifically.
I love your upcycling ideas!
Thank you so much Kathy!

What you've created is really lovely! Unfortunately for me from the title I was looking for something to celebrate the actual Christmas cards in a journal that I wish to keep.
