  • I'm sharing how I select and alter trash to make journal cards, papers and tags to stuff in pockets and tuck spots.
    Pieces like sales cards and flyers, note cards or postcards, junk mail, etc. all make a great foundation for junk journal ephemera.

      We think alike Sandy! Haha, I thought the same thing when I saw you crochet the edges of your journal cards…we think alike. It’s wonderful. Have you tried the acetone? I’m glad the TUBE has brought us together.

    • @BeAgainBooks
      @BeAgainBooks  11 місяців тому

      Yes, you are right! Sanding will create a “tooth” in the paper for the adhesive to grab. Thanks so much for watching.

    0:00 I'm new to your channel. I enjoyed your vid very much. The sandpaper use was new to me.... I will be using it. Believe me. What grid sandpaper do you use? I would think the grid matters, no? Something I'd like to mention. You used only part of a sticker or washi tape, then, cut off the "overflo". Looked like you tossed it. A couple, one, was washi tape, another, the label, I thought could still be used. The backing had been removed, so, just attach to paper (of your choice for backing). Voila! No waste! Of course, the smaller ones, you'd toss. But, those couple, I thought, were salvageable. I noticed this, watching you. I always just toss, thinking, well, the back is off, and it's sticky. So, has got to be tossed. Wrong, kemosabe! 😆🤣... Thank you. I learned two, valuable tips from you today. And, I had fun, which was even more important! Love and Peace. 🌹💕✌️☺️
    *I'm back. I started reading the replies, once I finished mine. It was then, I realized that this is about three years old! O Doamne! (Loosely translated, Romanian, for Holy Moly!!) I'm sorry for bringing this up, again. Three yrs, can you believe? O DOAM.... (Although, I must admit that I'm glad I stumbled upon it! Daddy always said, Learning is a good thing.) And, I just realized... I didn't start this video, rolling, again. Resurfacing. Someone else did. I just happened upon it, AFTERWARD! And, moved it along,🥴 again! 😳🌹...Lucky, for many, new to junk journaling! 🥴😏🤗✌️

    Hi Kathleen~I've started going thru a lot of your past videos~they are so good. Question: Do you do a master board for each journal. I have never done one for a journal~but I notice that I stray a lot from the main colors I have in my mind. I would think that a master board~would help that not to happen. I'm doing a journal for my youngest daughter and her favorite colors are deep red, blue, and black....and I need something to help me stay within those colors. Thank you for your response. Blessings....

    • @BeAgainBooks
      @BeAgainBooks  4 місяці тому +1

      No, I don’t do one for every journal. Often I have a clear “theme” in mind and that keeps me on track, haha. I usually do a mood board when a journal is more conceptual - more of a feeling like “spring” or “rural 30’s kind of depression era” kind of thing, or “dark forest” or “rainy”. It’s kind of hard to explain, haha. I do think it will help you stick with the “picture” you have in your mind, right? That’s when I would use it. Good luck with your project!

      @@BeAgainBooks Thank You for getting back to me! I am an eclectic person…my house is shabby chic/victorian/country/with a touch of modern. Haha!!! I guess that’s what my daughter’s journal is starting to look like. Maybe I need a sign in front of my workspace to remind me to ‘stay on course’…..whatever that is. Ha! Have a wonderful weekend.❤️
