You've achieved a great result with a difficult kit. I have this one in my stash, so I appreciate you providing a heads-up of the potential pitfalls with the kit.
This kit has a lot of potential, like I mention in the video, a lot of the resin parts with regards to the rotors will need support/strength, but in the end it looks like a Wessex!
That was very nicely done, I was surprised that you didn't lay down a white undercoat prior to putting on the yellow, on the upper fuselage and there was no loss of vibrancy, very impressed.
Great build and a very nice touch with the custom numbers for the client's father. When you mentioned all the additional parts like the fabric belts and all the photo etched parts that came with the kit I was curious because I haven't heard of this manufacturer before. I found this kit on the internet with a price auf about 240 euros. I don't want to say that this is too pricy because with all the aftermarket parts that come with whis kit (I saw some Eduard bags when you opened up the box) it is a reasonable price but with a premium kit like this and such a price tag the manufacterer should make sure that the packaging is solid. Damaged resin parts are a no go in my opinion and a pity for such a kit. But you did a fantastic job. I Like the colors and I like the very subtle weathering. Subbed your channel!
Interesting, I can find the kit available here in the US for about $120. Far less than your 240 euros, but I agree, regardless the price, the resin should be more carefully packaged. It really is a shame, because on the few parts that weren't broken, the resin quality is top notch, very fine details are represented. Thanks for watching and the Sub!
i remeber using those cloth/fabric belts on 2 different kits, there in the 1/12 f16 cockpit and the 1/12 f104 cockpit both by italeri, i find its easier to cout them with scissors as they can tear up the strands with a knife
Excellent build of a superb aircraft. Limited run kits certainly present some interesting challenges but unable us to make some great examples of less mainstream subjects, and you've certainly done this kit and your client proud. I was surprised given the level of PE parts that they didn't offer you the windscreen wiper blades? Fantastic job and a great video as usual.
I've really been enjoying some limited run kits recently, specifically the sword kits, and while challenging, I did enjoy this build as well. Come to think of it, I don't recall any mention of the wipers in this kit.
@@HammerheadModelMaking it’s very odd that they forgot the wipers and the fuselage aerials on such a nice kit. I posted the 1/72 Matchbox Wessex on my channel which they included these parts on what was an inferior kit. In fairness though the wipers were massively over scale so I replaced them with some stretched sprue! These details don’t detract from your beautiful build though and I’m not surprised that your client was delighted with the end product. ua-cam.com/video/8XjjbLgEteI/v-deo.html
Yes, I was using the regular Tamiya Extra thin and the Tamiya quick drying glue. I’d use the quick trying glue to tack in some of the more stubborn pieces, then use the regular extra thin to solidify it.
Hi just visited your model of your Wessex can I please make a few positive points the Royal Navy decal is too high on the side needed to be moved down secondly the tail rotor should have red and white stripes on the oleo there should be a white flotation bottle on each side and lastly the horizontal stabiliser should have a black and white walk way on it
Mainly trial and error. I had some reference images that showed the roughly how large the numbers were supposed to be, and with some crude measurements I was able to get close, then just refine the size until they looked right.
That is a BIG kit… I enjoy building models, I can do a pretty good job… There’s no way I’m good enough to be commissioned to build something for someone… I like to do research on a subject, detail it up, scratch build interiors, even the smallest details makes a kit come alive… I find any kind of resources I can to use.. I watch your videos and techniques, they’ve helped me build better models… Some of the OLDER kits MONOGRAM or REVELL are good challenges… I’ll keep watching CHRIS from OHIO 🇺🇸

Nice build, pretty impressive size. Love the yellow!
Thanks Kevin!!

That was my original plan, but I had heard so many good things about this yellow and was curious to see for myself. I was not disappointed!
Great jobs 👌

Looks like you are using a roll of wire to place glue drops into really small spaces? Just regular super glue or the jell super glue??
Yes, just a roll of floral wire as my low budget super glue applicator! Nothing high-tech. It’s regular CA glue.
Also, looks like you use 2 different types of Tamiya glues? Can you explain?
Yes, I was using the regular Tamiya Extra thin and the Tamiya quick drying glue. I’d use the quick trying glue to tack in some of the more stubborn pieces, then use the regular extra thin to solidify it.
Heck yeah, very nice.
Thanks!
Nice.

Hiw long is this model?
You are best builder 🙌
Thank you, I believe this kit was about 20-22 inches long.

What's the dimensions please? ...gr8 build btw
If I recall correctly, nose to tail was about 20 inches, maybe 55 cm.

sounds like the seat belts was made out of cotton paper.nice build even with the issues you had.....

Commish?😳
Jman
Are you asking what a commission is?
@@HammerheadModelMaking east coast shortened word!🤔

1/32 what a pitty they couldnt have pushed to 1/35
Would have good diorama potential in 1/35 scale.
