Welcome back. Have always loved your "no BS" approach to one of my favorite hobbies. Looking forward to more frequent content.
Thanks Deake ! I still practice the no BS gardening and hope to share some more ;)
I wanted to say thank you very much for the content. I can only imagine the effort you spent to make this happen. I rarely comment on anything but your videos have been so helpful that they deserve the feedback. I took the information gleaned from your zone 3 garden and used it to start my own. If you can grow in zone 3 then I can pull it off in zone 5.
Emanuel it’s so good to hear from you. It makes me very happy t to get I could help you with your zone 5 garden. You can likely do some pretty cool fruit trees I simply cannot.
Dude! You're back! I hope you've been well!
Everything has been well and it’s good to be back !

@@AlbertaUrbanGarden that's awesome! I imagine that filming gardening videos takes a long time 😂
👍
I just found you minutes ago. I see you uploading again. Just letting h know to don't give up. Do some fpj and homemade calcium etc videos bro. Or how to attract red wigler worms
Thanks for the tips my friend!
That's a lot more work than necessary for where I live. In Houston (which rarely freezes & gets 40+ inches of rain per year), I just made a 5' diameter ring with kennel wire & then add organic matter to the pile all year long. In early spring, I rake it all out & sift it with a 1/4" wirecloth shaker & I have 2 to 2.5 cubic feet of perfect compost to use in my garden, pots, & other plant areas.
Nature doesn't need our help at all to compost organic matter. The only valid reason for us to do any work while composting is to add the type of nutrient sources that we want into our compost pile--nature will easily do the rest without our help..
Man I wish I had your weather. The issue we have is a short snow free time to get the work done.
@@AlbertaUrbanGarden That would be a challenge. You'd have to turn your pile often to accelerate the decomposition process to get finished compost before it becomes too cold. Fortunately for me, decomposition works all year here.
Came here from Gardener Scott!
Did he send his community over here?
@@AlbertaUrbanGarden he mentions your videos often, last Monday on his weekly live stream he told us that you have recently uploaded a new video, so here we are 😁 nice to hear you are back!
x2 😄
Heeeeee's baaaack!
Iiimmmmmm bbbbaaaaccccckkkk ;)
Hello spring lake gardening here, this spring will be my second year planting my boxes are half empty I spend so much money making my soil so your method is great! Thank you for sharing. I have a question and it is very important.
I have so many ants on my boxes they eat all my winter vegetables I don’t use chemicals on the boxes. I try to do everything natural and still here.
How can I get ride of them and second Dino need to empty my planting boxes and fill them up again?
Any help will let be greatly appreciate.
Sad to see you don't have new videos
I’ll be doing a few this year :)
I also i wanted to know about the compost but in easy way
Long time on see!
It has been some time but I am glad to be back. Make sure to come back around 4pm mountain time ;)
Wow! what has it been 4 years?
About that :)
I like to put my soil out of my pots layered between my compost I'm not sure if this is beneficial or not but it seems to not do me any harm if I had more room I probably do the same method you're doing 😁
I’m sure it’s likely the same principal and as long as your plants are doing well then the method is likely working.
@@AlbertaUrbanGarden I haven't actually used the mix yet to be friends I kind of forget about it LOL it's at the back of my yard and it's been there for about 2 years I should probably steer it cuz I haven't done that in a long time I'm pretty relaxed about gardening
That is the best way to be in the garden ;) let me know how it turns out !
Have you tried the garbage can bio reactor for making compost?
I have this treeTamarix dioica. It shreds its leaves like product a lot. Can we use them as compost???
Where have you been?
Life got busy my friend. But I am doing a concerted effort to come back for series over the summer ;)
I thought a moose might have gotten you. Welcome back.
Lol it was close but the moose and I parted ways as good friends :)
Excuse me... something really bad happened to my ghost pepper plant. I brought it outside for the first time and the wind snapped the main stem like 4 inches from the base. Any tips on how to save it? I was thinking about putting the entire top part in water and trying to get it to sprout new roots so i can replant it, but idk. Also if i keep taking care of the bottom half, the 4 inches of stalk and all the roots, do you think it might start sprouting new leaves??
It depends on if there are leaf nodes below the break. If it does then they should grow branches. the part above the break is probably gone. I have never been able to successfully root them. Sorry for your loss.
Where do you buy red wiggler worms in Alberta?
I just looked on buy and sell sites.
So I’m a little confused...this bed with trench composting needs to sit all year without being planted?
Stay tuned for the next video :)
I was lamenting that gone are the days when you & One Yard Revolution made vids that were actually based on sound research, soil science & lab results.
Now, it's miasma of self-styled garden gurus & "personalities" who keep replicating each others' bad myth based vids or come up with wacky ideas they call a "trial."
I noticed Patrick had stopped too. I am glad though that we both did those videos and they remain relevant.
@@AlbertaUrbanGarden Did he make his move to the farm in NC?
I was hoping for a rash of vids on his set-up of the new place.
Welcome back!
Thank you
Dayum. I was just thinking about you a few days ago. Crazy. 👍
I felt the force draw me back. It must have been you ;)
Welcome back!
Thanks
