Various state governments in Andhra Pradesh assured that investment brought to the Kakinada Special Economic Zone would deliver jobs and better trade for the locals and the coastal belt of the state at large. However, people in Kakinada told TNM that none of those things have panned out. The SEZ was set up in 2003. Since then and especially in the last 10 years, several protests have broken out under the TDP and YSRCP led state governments when the governments attempted to bring in pharmaceutical companies. How will the pharma companies coupled with the lack of jobs affect Kakinada ahead of the Andhra elections? TNM finds answers.

I am a avid follower of state and central news... I always wonder even if andhra was spiralling down since last 5 years strategically no national media showed any concern... I feel you are the first one to talk about a issue that is not about who will win next election...

The amaravati protestes are in par with farmer agitation in Delhi, but sad, they didn't get national recognition.
