Winning over south India is high on BJP’s agenda. While we speak a lot about how Kerala and Tamil Nadu resists BJP, there is another southern state- where the BJP has hardly made any inroads- the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is BJP's own making. BJP central leadership systematically cut the roots of the local BJP leadership and sold itself out to the charms of opportunitst non-bjp party leaders at the cost of hardworking and dedicated local cadre and leadership.
See who heading AP BJP . Smt Purendeshwari, a strong and devoted congress lady and 10-year Union Minister in UPA government. And Sri N Kiran Kumar Ready another loyal congress man and ex-CM of AP, now a key player in BJP. They would be among the first ones to jump back to Congress in case of hung parliament in June 2024.
In contrast, see the treatment given to GVL Narasimha Rao who has been nurturing Vizag during the past 3+ year.
Again some thing goes with Eluru ; Tapana Chowdhuri was denied LS seat. He wasn't even given assembly seat.
Why should the cadre vote for the alliance? Either they remain absent or vote for YSCP or even Congress.
Added to that, no one here likes Hindi chauvinism and disregard to Telugu and other Non-Hindi languages of BJP Central leadership.

What you heard from politicians across is right. Forget Muslims, any neutral looking only at issues (like myself who's born in a Hindu family but can't digest the communal venom that BJP spreads, the only thing they do) wouldn't want to vote for anyone linked to BJP. The Congress/INDI Alliance and the TDP together would have been one side, but most probably to get out of jail and avoid arrests they had to with BJP. Even if the relationship is transactional, say the BJP cannot form the govt at the centre, TDP is unnecessarily losing seats to them as part of this alliance.
Rohit's comments don't make sense because the BJP under Vajpayee, who formed coalition govt, is not the same as now which has an absolute majority and have all institutions under its control. Modi is no one in comparison, he is openly spewing to incite communal divide. Also forming an electoral alliance is different from just supporting on issues. TDP was stronger back then comparatively, it didn't need BJP back then, or now if not for the cases.
PK gives a very naive reason to your question. He says that he's the first to condemn SRK's son's arrest. It was a good opportunity for you folks to have counter questioned, did he condemn any incidents from Manipur/Hathras/Unnao/ any and more recent and past crimes when he met Modi multiple times? Historically the anti-Brahmin feeling was strong in Andhra, though this was not commented upon. RSS, Jana Sangh and BJP have been considered as Brahmin organizations.
And BJP is seen as responsible for the division of Andhra Pradesh into Telengana and Andhra Pradesh and seen as responsible for not granting special status to Andhra after the division of Andhra Pradesh.

Simple. In First Past the Post system it is difficult for 3rd party to get chance. Unlike in Proportional representation system where if a party wins 30% vote then they get 30% seats in Parliament.
