There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.

The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I was born in France, and grew up in a North African family, and unfortunately at the age of 21 I experienced Islam which really made me very bad, I had fallen into hatred of others.
And following a journey that lasted more than 10 years through the different sects that exist in this religion (Ash'ari, Mu'tazilite etc etc), I finally succeeded, thanks to God, in freeing myself from this religion. after reading the holy gospels in which the figure of jesus christ really struck me.
The goodness and love of Christ is truly incomparable.

Aside from that, we actually have far more in the way of historical documents and manuscripts from eyewitnesses about the life, teachings and resurrection of Jesus (including from non-Christian, Roman sources) than we have for literally *any* other ancient historical figure (including any of the Roman emperors or even Alexander the Great).
If you can't accept Jesus because of lack of papers penned directly by Him, then, to be intellectually honest, you'd have even *less* reason to believe in *any* other ancient historical figure (given that most of what we know was written about hundreds of years later; by people summarizing their own history books).

My husband and I both accepted salvation close to one another. On the brink of prideful divorce. We learned of Jesus' forgiveness of us, and how to forgive one another at that time. Though it's a long process of course to be better at that...but it's a true life changer. All of it, not only the forgiveness and grace but that's the start. ❤ People even have such issues with Genesis....yet it's still forgiveness and grace. I don't know any person but God that would forgive people like we see it in the Bible and our lives. ❤

We strive for good works not to be saved but because we are saved. We were saved from sin, we don't want anything to do with sin!
❤ We shouldn't* want anything to do with sin. Aren't we all tempted at times? That's wanting to do sinful things, even if it's for the most brief moment...Just being real. God is good all the time. ❤ If we keep our spiritual armor maintained and etc then we have an easier time sticking straight on the path, but I think we all fail. I do agree though...it's about overwhelming desire to BE of good works and to know Jesus, to know YHWH and the Word. Conviction. When people choose to deliberately give into sin that can be a sign they aren't truly saved. Especially if they consistently do so vs study the word etc.

We don't work to salvation we work from it.
We do have to do good works to merit eternal life. Eternal life, it's a reward not just a free gift.

In one sense you are correct as at baptism our past sins are forgiven, and many call that being 'saved' as they are in a covenant, and good works are the fact of living by faith for salvation. OSAS is one way of looking at baptism.
However having past sins forgiven is a promise not confirmed until those baptised die, those who backdlide into sin break the contract and give up their promise.

I am a Christian because…
1) I am reborn (John 3:3)
2) In rebirth I have been given a heart of flesh to replace my heart of stone (Ezekiel 11:19-20; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 10:15-18)
3) The Holy Spirit dwells within my new heart (1 Corinthians 3:16 et.al.)
These 3 spiritual truths are what set Christianity apart from all the world’s religions.
NO OTHER RELIGION MAKES THESE CLAIMS.
Each religion makes its own claims that make them unique.
I mean, Buddhism does the rebirth thing. But they don't work with grace ...it's works-based only. Also Buddhism and most other religions say they believe in Jesus in some way. Lol That is what's interesting to me. ❤ And all religions I know of have ideas that mimick Christianity/Judaism in substantial ways. Or they seem to worship fallen angels. It's one of the other, or a mix. There's records of the Jewish people honoring God with animal sacrifices before the Paegans. Catholic here, and it is about grace. Goesfastandfar is not far off. The Catholic Church has never taught that we can be saved by works. The speaker’s analogy is misplaced as representative of Catholicism. We don’t work our way to heaven. That said, works definitely matter.
Please don’t hold me to this but I believe scripture speaks about good deeds/works being accounted for at death some 10+ x’s? To me its only fitting in justice that in our bad deed, the vise of sin, we must repent. So too, in virtue of holiness, good deeds are required by the denial of self in action for love of God and neighbor. God knows our heart and our walk with Him.
As a Catholic who is grateful to be moving deeper into the love of God and stronger faith, my desire to be more virtuous is growing and by his grace my sin will be lessened because grace perfects nature and He is perfecting me if I am willing to cooperate.

As the Bible says, there will be those crying out to Jesus "we did so many good works in your name!" And he will turn them away saying "you never knew me!" 😢 Many Catholics are choosing pride and deception over truth and others that are into "works-based" don't KNOW the Word. It's very sad.

I am an atheist living in a Muslim country. Even though I have no faith, I find Dr. Lennox's explanation very moving. I think, if one day I begin to have faith, I would follow a similar path to what he describes.
Perhaps you would consider reading the Bible to get to know Jesus in his own words? I highly recommend The Books of Matthew and John.

Food for thought: The point of Jesus waiting until a certain time to return is to give time for as many as possible to come to Him before that time (after which it will be too late).
Right now, there are more people currently alive than the *combined* total of all people who have ever died! The harvest of souls (both good and bad) is exponentially growing with each year that He mercifully delays.

I have truly found I knew love for God and Jesus, and 3 weeks ago, I felt like I was called back to him after stepping away from my faith after a bad break up and relapsing from my drug of choice.
It's been 4 weeks that i have not touched it again after having hands laid on me, and I'm feeling crazy pressure from the enemy to do it again..im discouraged..
I can hear my thoughts tell me it's not a big deal if I do it again for just 1 night to help calm myself, and to have a break, and that God will forgive me..but I also do not want to disappoint him, or myself, or my new Christian friends..
I'm so conflicted within myself the past 2 days and it wont let up. The last 3 weeks have been such a blessing..blessings on top of blessings..
I'm not looking for sympathy but some wisdom from fellow brothers and sisters in how they have overcome this type of thing and the thoughts that I'm having.
If God forgives so easily, how is that going to help me stay away..Im afraid, but also feel like I need a break from everything that's happened to me in the last 3 weeks and I just want to not feel what I'm feeling.

I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. As a fellow addicted myself, I have been where you are and I know it is a very difficult time and thing to go through. By the Grace of God I have been able to stay away from it for 15 yrs. Now, the only thing that kept me from going back in those first few days, weeks and months was to realize that nothing good will come from using. It will give you instant gratification but at what cost? My advice is to reach out to your new found Christian friends your mentioned or any close friends that understand your situation and are willing to help you avoid relapse. These are my go to verses when I am being spiritually attacked or tempted by evil thoughts. Keep on the narrow path friend!
Just pray, It will help for sure.
Take a 30 minutes every day and be persistent, focus on the prayer and be humble in the prayer.
Also that might help is to think what would Jesus do in that situation.
He is the way, truth and life.

You are saved by God through your faith in him. If you do your drug of choice again you are forgiven. Being that you are “struggling” with sin is already positive. You know it is wrong. The question is how to now stop. It’s hard - super hard! Pray on God as I will now for you as well, and if you feel as though you are succumbing to the desire to give in, I would call on your Christian friends instantly to pray for you. I would also make the decision go get as far away from the drug. Throw it our, break it, run away from it, whatever it takes for it to not be near. There’s a rule in nutrition coaching, that whatever is in the pantry will eventually be eaten. So do not let the drug “be in the pantry”. I hope this helps

R C Sproul once did a term paper in seminary and quoted the hymn line Infinite grace of our loving Lord, and got a C on it. Why? 1. You quoted a hymn not Scripture, hymns are not the Word of God. 2. Grace is NOT infinite, it has limits.

What exactly makes Christianity a religion and not a way of living a life of the Spirit with Christ Jesus, in God, is simply because a religion is observed with many different sets of rules and rituals. Whereas, being just a Believer makes fellowship easy and accessible with God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ the Son, by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. Salvation/justification comes by believing (having faith) in the blood that Christ (the Lamb of God) shed for the forgiveness of sins and the finished work that Christ completed on the cross also that he rose on the third day conquering death. Works come after we are saved and once we are saved we are always saved, because nothing or no one can snatch us out of his hand.

Actually your good works do play a role in your salvation. The part you missed and many Christians miss and don't understand today, is that your salvation is not just a free gift..it is also a reward.
Therefore you do have to do good works. Because only faith working in love will complete your justification. It's not by faith alone.

He touches on a subject I find comforting. Most people (now and then) know and wish for the golden rule to be one of their moral codes of conduct. What I dislike, at times, is that some of the different faiths will proclaim that their faith alone owns this rule, when as he said, it was well established long before those religions saw the light of day.
I still don't understand why there must be an angry God king ready to punish for minor infractions of rules told to me by other men (and men lie all the time)... but I am appreciative of the sacrifice Jesus made for us. John Lennox's explanation here is quite brilliant.
The mercy of God is beautiful in light of justice. Would God be good if he looked at everyone who sinned against you and said who cares it's not a big deal. No. He is good because He is just - as seen in His wrath poured out on Jesus. He is good because of His mercy in sending His son to bring you back to Himself. Same God. Loving. Holy. Just. Merciful.
Curious: Who establishes the severity of an infraction according to the word of God? Is not an infraction actually sin?
Sin isn't minor infractions but the consequences of unrighteousness. You wouldn't wouldn't consider murder, harm, stealing, lying , manipulating and rape to be minor infractions of anyone would you especially if they're done to you or someone you care about.
You are the one punishing the Lord when you sin, not the other way around.
Sin is literally anything that is outside of, or opposed to, the nature and character of God Himself. God is literally the *source* of all that is "good" or wholesome.
In one of His parables, Jesus compared Hell to Gehenna, the garbage dump outside of Jerusalem that was constantly on fire. Those who cannot accept Him, and His holy nature, are sent to the only place where He is not present.
To force those who reject Him, and who cannot abide holiness, to remain in His presence for eternity would be unjust and cruel. Much of the actual suffering of those in Hell is simply a result of turning away from the source of all that is actually good (God). If the only thing left for them is ashes, that is not God's fault! He did, after all, pay for a way back to Him, should they not refuse it!
Jesus is king of kings and Lords of Lords.

I wish this could be preached in every church. The burden it would remove from people would be tremendous. In its place, we'd know that we are loved and saved by Christ who calls us to have relationship with Him. From that relationship, everything is changed, our thoughts, actions and vision of ourselves and the world.

As a person brought up in Catholic Faith, I can say there is an identity to it, which makes one feel like they belong somewhere. More so than the other denominations. My hold up was Mary, I could not imagine not having nightly prayers with her. LIke who am I to bother the big guy?

My wife was protestant and I started going to her church and that's when I started reading the Bible and noticed many things the Bible said that were really different than what the catholic church taught. If I was to predict the outcome of that I'm going to imagine that you actually didn't understand the point that was actually being made. I think it just depends on where you are in life. Most people that watch these videos that don’t believe secretly want to believe so badly, at least that was my own spot. And from what I’ve seen so many others. One day I looked at the cross at it hit me like a semi what it really meant, it was the most powerful thing I have ever experienced. I was looking for an answer in a way and it was given. I think these videos affect many who just lurk in the comments.

The gospel is for all but not all receive it. People who are acutely aware of their guilt, wretchedness, depravity and moral bankruptcy tend to embrace eternal and perfect forgiveness. Self righteous people who believe they are good enough and I innocent don’t see any need for forgiveness.
