My 2013 Dodge Avenger has the 62TE transmission. I tried using a coat hanger to check fluid levels, but was never sure if that ledge was the stopping point or not. I ended up spending the $60 for the tool you showed, and it was worth it for the peace of mind to know that the fluid levels were correct. It was actually low about half a quart, and now it shifts smoother with the proper amount of fluid.
Does the oil dipstick tube go all the way in and fit flush in the transmission tube like it does in the oil dip tube? Or does it just go in/so you just put it in until it stops or bottoms out on that plate or whatever it is that you showed?
Question for 2012 jeep grand cherokee srt8. For the transmission fluid level, how many inches down does the dipstick go? When I put mine in, it feels stuck, then if I push a little further it actually feels bottomed out but not sure how far down is "bottom of pan" ?
I just used this method . Nothing came out on my stick 😕 I have a 6.4 Hemi and been to the dealer multiple times & of course my car shifts hard !! Because no fluid
@@HooptiesGarage Nah, they know what they’re doing when it comes to car technology. They’re doing it on purpose because they don’t want people to be able to work on their own and they want to get rid of as many back yard mechanics because they can’t afford to invest in the new tools or scanners required!
Thanks for the tip Sir. I very much appreciate it. As far as them technical idiots out there, don't pay mind to them. You just can't fix stupid. Best regards and have yourself a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Hi thsnks for the video! Quick question what scan tool is needed for this? I have a 2012 dodge avenger. Thanks!
I use the launch and autel you will need a midlevel scan tool with decent data stream
Should the fluid be checked with the engine at idle ,or with the engine off? .thanks in advance.

It bottoms out on that little plate
@@HooptiesGarage Yea, I get, know and understand that. But I was wondering how much of the dipstick sticks out when it does bottom out?
How about dodge challenger 2017 I don’t see anything under hood
What u do first check. Cold and warm up little check again refill same back lvl way u see no need scann tool
Be better to check it warm to be 100% you need scantool but this will get it in ballpark
@@HooptiesGarage why u can read gauges once fully warm up 😂
Is this on the 4.0 caravan?
Any chrysler with a 6 speed autonatic
Can I use a temp gun to check trans temp?
Not sure how accurate it would be but you would prob get it close

I don't know off the top of my head on those but if it's a factory dipstick it should be right
Thank you!
Will this work for Pontiacs as well?
No this is chrysler only. Gms using a bolt that you take out like a manual transmission depending on the year model etc
Where’s the transmission fluid sensor?
Thank you bro
Bro you need add comments in Spanish to this for increase your views, I really appreciate the video ;)
Regards from Mexico.
I thought all the videos could be translated I'll have to look into it
What happens if it’s over filled?
Depends on how much if it's just slightly it won't hurt anything

Yeah it seems like for every thing we advance in we take 2 steps back in other areas

It's Chrysler Vehicles, Dodge is not a Parent Company, therefore they're called Chrysler Vehicles, not Dodge, you're going to confuse people
Well if you want to get technical it's not even chrysler anymore Fiat owns them.
