      Ya no problem, also I forgot to mention in normal cases with a muffler mod you want fatten it up a bit, Mine was really rich so it needed a bit more lean after the muffler mod. Also thinner oil like winter oil helps the oiler from plugging up. Stay safe bro. 👊

    I’ve got the 150 before I got the echo. Over here you can’t take the deflector off so I banged a 10mm hole in the side and trimmed the chain cover. Livens them up big time! The trouble I’ve had with mine is the oiler, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t! If I was to compare the stihl and the echo I’d say the stihl is a nice little saw, the echo is an angry little saw :)

    the problem now with even the best premium gas station gas to make a mix is that it has a lot of toxic filler like benzoyl and and Vinyl that also are very toxic, ( started happening oddly just before the pandemic). the spark arrestor getting plugged is not a design flaw, yet is letting us know what also is getting also in to our lungs. I have to prune thousands of large cherry trees and realized that with so many cuts and exhaust was making me sick. Yes the pre mix is expensive to use, but also will help avoid a very expensive repair to the piston. I also have to use the spark arrestor because at times I am working near public forests. what I did was invest in the 161 T electric that is heavier, and lacks torque for certain cuts, yet has the speed and balance for more fine punning. yet when you have your health with no exhaust and not the loud sound even with ear protection your going to stay productive and happy. I just use the 150 now only for 30 min a day, rather than for 6 hours like in the past.

    Rich and maybe heavy on the oil? Stihl is 50 to 1 where some other equipment is 40:1 so the stihl needs a little less oil. On mine I run the stihl synthetic oil which also may help and as a precaution I always use 90+ octane fuel. I never have a problem with that combo though and if it cost me an extra buck here or there its not a big deal for less hassle. :^)

    • @PoplarMechanic
      @PoplarMechanic  4 роки тому +1

      Ya I run 40:1, But it was set way rich, It sure runs good now, hasn't missed a beat. But your right the extra oil probably didnt help the tiny opening especially with the screen. I just like 40:1 it's what I run in everything.

    Love to see not everyone is in such desperation to work the weekends. You have an excellent business model if, most of the time, you’re able to spend time with family on the weekends. I would like to know how well the 2511 holds up. Because I would imagine that would be the factor in the price difference. The echo is good saw but will it rattle apart over time. I do think it’s necessary to have a smaller pruning saw. Unless you’re lucky enough to only accept removals. (August). Btw you are a class act. Educated, well spoken, pacified. You should have many more subs.

    • @PoplarMechanic
      @PoplarMechanic  4 роки тому

      Appreciate that Brian, The echo does have its quirks, What I love about stihl is that it starts so consistently and reliably and idles all day. The echo is a power house for sure but the quality is lower for sure. Overall I like the echo it seems to run better since I tweaked it but it still has its moments. I'll let you know how it does over time. Have a good sunday 👊

    Older tree guy from Ohio here. So I've been running the echo 2511t for couple years now. But liken these light weight saws alot, and wanting to try something else. Should I buy or save my money? I also thought of husky 525.

    • @PoplarMechanic
      @PoplarMechanic  2 роки тому

      So the 2511t is going to be the lightest option wich you have, then you could go with a 151tc wich is fairly light as well, you could also look into the 194t wich would be middle ground, as far as the 525 goes it looks decent but I have no experience with it, I believe huskys battery saw is their most popular saw right now, stihl is comming out with a new battery saw very soon so im holding out for that one because I have 2 batteries for stihl already, personally I would go with the 194t, Although its a pound heavier you get more power for your money in my opinion, I may actually get a 194t myself, hope that helps! I'll leave you the 194t link so you can have a look m.en.stihl.ca/STIHL-Products/Chain-Saws-and-Pole-Pruners/Arborist-Chain-Saws/2102606-1528/MS-194-T.aspx?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwY-LBhD6ARIsACvT72MW3q5vxAJ7D2cCwLrMfsGOuwBq0cBEfoDP2Frw-riROyVA6z9UOZcaAuuKEALw_wcB

      Update, after two and a half months of waiting, they found out that the sealant that used between the cases was too much, it broke off inside and ended up scarring the cylinder within the first 5 minutes of use, since the saw was back ordered and they no longer make the 150, they finally got around to sending me the newer 151 TCE.
