I do like that k&n filter the way u cut it out. I've seen guys do that but yours it nice and tight.but the oil filters can last a week as long as it gets blown out outside of it..but man they keep fines out .couldn't go back 🔙 to anything else .on stihl saws anyways..the little echo 2511t does most or 70 percent of removals .especially with a hernia .
My first everyday prosaw was an old 038 then I went to a 362 and made ALOT of money with it. 25” bar and sharp chain lol. Ran it for a long time and it had been used before I got it too! Still runs to this day!!
Doug, enjoyable viewing as always. Both yourself and Richard Flagg both extol the virtues of Red Armor, and I plan to switch to it as soon as my shoulder injury clears up. I have asked a few guys here in the UK about issues with the Stihl oil but nobody seems to be aware 🤔
@Indiana Doug I tore ligaments in my right shoulder, and although I am itching to get my 462 and 660 into some wood, I know that I could potentially do more harm than good in the long run. Over in N Ireland, this is our wettest time of year, so it could be worse 😆
Good video Doug. A muffler mod on a 362 is an absolute must in my book for some really good gains and also heat dissipation. Couldn't agree more on Red Armor. For the cost and availability nothing touches it.
Thanks for the video. Do you have one covering the K&N filter mod? I’ve been wanting to do this mod but haven’t found any info on how to interface it with the saw.
@@IndianaDoug I have a couple of filters that require me cutting a hole in my engine cover. One of my concern is how to line up where the hole goes? I want it to look good and centered. I tried putting chalk on the top of the UNI & KM filters but it smears making it difficult to see where exactly to lineup my hole-saw. Also, fitment can be an issue pending how you interface the filter with the carburetor plastic thingamajig. If the thingamajig is removed there are two holes that need to be plugged to keep unfiltered air out. If the thingamajig is left on those holes are covered but all that plastic on the thingamajig is restricting airflow. I promise you no one has done a video on those topics because I’ve ran every keyword search there is on this. Sure there’s plenty of guys like yourself sporting exposed cold air intake via velocity stack but no one is covering how it magically appears on their saws.
@@rix350 I apologize that I haven’t made time to make a video on it. It’s been a crazy last couple of weeks. My best advice is finding an approximate center point. Then drilling a small hole. Put the cover on and look throw to see if you need to reposition the center point. I use a flashlight. When you find a center, make a hole smaller than you need and work your way up. The other bit of advice is use a filter with a rubber boot you can cut on. You will likely cut a slight angle, or cut it shorter.
Love red armor use it my saws..have 4 year old 2511t. Use it daily .on entire trees.hsve to disagree on the bark boxes, wouldn't run a stihl without them or the west coast oil filters..and definitely suspension kit.its different saw entirely..462 oil filters are best ivecseen .in 30 years..if someone can afford a 1600 dollar saw or 1000 dollar saw they can afford few hundred to bullet proof it.every stihl saw needs those 3 things and doggs ..thanks
@@IndianaDoug me neither first time using them and was disappointed bigtime but with thise adjustments and only a sthil dealer near me ,I maid the switch run a small tree service and landscaping business plus took on commercial mowing so do all out door services and trees year round.more predominantly in winter .just because I love cold weather from Illinois and Wisconsin..I would love to do my 462s like you have the 362 set up .afraid to .mess up cover need it lined up or I would dremel it out..thanks
3 min 45 sec on hot air and red armor propaganda ? cmon man . Any good 2 stroke motocross oil is just as good ...for example, i've ran amsoil Dominator inn all my chainsaws, weed eaters, snow mobiles bcuz i had it for the dirt bikes. 2 hour races pounding the piss out of 125cc and 250cc dirt bikes never a prob. Top ends look like new and never a prob with 5 chain saws 3 oz per gallon in everything .... 4oz/gal in the YZ125 and the leftoveer would run fine in the chainsaws . Never any problem . Also used Amsoil iinterceptor and Motul 800 . Ya dont need expensive BS chainsaw specific oils . Motocross racing oil is better
I don’t disagree, there’s many great oils out there. When I make videos on chainsaws, I try to give viewers my opinion on a product readily available in any town. Amsoil and Motul ain’t that.
Bro, your camera work.....holy fuct!
Top notch dining room table footage, don’t be jealous.
One of my favorite saws. Great videos on it man. Loving it!
That's turning into a sweet little saw!
Thanks man, it’s a blast
I like that. I've got one that's been sitting around. I think I'll need to tinker around with it. Great video. Thanks.
Opening the muffler and a timing advance makes a stock saw fun to run.
Definitely wakes em up!
@@justinweaver8107 Yes indeed brother.
Great job sir she comin to life lil by lil huh.
Looks good.
Now, dremel out the spark arrestor bracket and really open her up.
😊
I like the muffler mod there, nice work on this mod 1st I have seen it done.

They’re good saws if treated well.
@@IndianaDoug no doubt, I’m sure the 400 will replace this saw but for the time being it’s still a VERY viable option
Nice, might have to try that on my 362
All i did was grind out the exhaust port and drill 4 holes in my muffler, it opened up good
I in my opinion like Husqvarna XP+ synthetic blend seems to do well with my Stihl San husky’s it’s not bad I buy it in bulk

Thanks for the kind words. Interesting, I have been battling a shoulder issue for some time. I’m just glad it was my left shoulder.

You will melt your chain break handle with that muffler mod
Nope, been deflecting right under it since I’ve had it
@@IndianaDoug Wait till you use it more and longer times.
I have same saw and did the same thing and it eventually melted it.
@@TANGO22222222 that’s nuts. Ya I kept this in mind as I was opening the deflector, but you never know
so wonderful beautiful video friend i love it so wonderful much see i like you
Thank you!
Stihl makes it so easy to modify their mufflers, I don't understand why people go out and spend all that money on aftermarket mufflers.
Not having the tools, or maybe the knowledge. Not sure.

What is the air filter you’ve got on it?
K&N
@IndianaDoug - do you have a part number for it please?
