During the Third Age, few of Noldorin Elves remained in Middle-earth, with most of them living in Rivendell with Elrond (Glorfindel being one of them). Little by little they set sail to the West, until none were present after Aragorn II Elessar was King, and the Dominion of Men started.
As Leonardo said, most had either been killed or sailed into the West by the time of the 3rd and certainly the 4th Age. Galadriel was of course one of the great 3rd Age Noldor (although technically she was only a quarter Noldor, the other components being quarter Vanyar and half Teleri) and we know she left Middle-Earth for Valinor. Perhaps the main legacy of the Noldor is the remaining - and dwindling - Dunedain, especially those descended from Elros who (along with Elrond) had significant Noldor ancestry. I don't think that Sauron surrends after war with elves (1693-1701) - he fled to Mordor and hasn't been talent to Numenor. After attack on Minas Ithil when Isildur fled to Arnor, Anarion didn't stay at Minas Anor or Osgiliath ? Thanks for the video 🙂
Sauron withdrew to Mordor after the War of the Elves and Sauron. Sauron did not surrender to the Númenoreans until over 1500 years later in a completely different event.
Sadly something like this will probably happen. They really can't help themselves. Personally I'm just sticking with the wealth of books and the LOTR movies that already exist.
@@truthisparamount8992 Yes, but we will have to listen to family and friends and classmates and coworkers, etc tell us loved the scene where Galadriel single-handedly take on the Numenorian Queen's guards or other stupid stuff.
They did, as Enerdhil said, but they were essentially always going to be doomed. Even if the Valar had not invoked Iluvatar, the idea of the Numenoreans taking on the Valar, Maiar and the Eldar (some of whom had seen the Light of the Trees) in their own land is ludicrous. Defeating and capturing one Maia, Sauron, was a great achievement, but that's a BIG stretch.

Wow. Just wondering if you did research and if so did you stop short. First off the wars of the Elves and Sauron Tar-Minastir did send a naval force to help the Elves, they succeeded in driving Sauron back but "NOT" capturing him. He swore revenge on the Numenoreans for this action. Ar-Pharazon was the king who captured Sauron and took h back to Numenor. I will probably find time to listen to this again, but I truly hope you do better research before making a video that has some incorrect info in it.
I would say Elrond had every right as the chosen successor of Gil-Galad, despite not being fully Noldor himself....although Galadriel might beg to differ being older and more powerful arguably and as one who had seen the Light of the Trees. I still think though had there been enough Noldor to rule over, it probably would have been Elrond had he wanted it.
@@sweeperboy I was not talking about Elrond being full Noldor. It's more to the point he was not from masculine right. Sure, he was second in command after Gil-galad in certain aspects, and he was one of the most important Elves; still, not a perfect fit.
I know this is a random question, and has nothing to do with Gilgalad, but is there a reason that Sauron need help to make the rings, and couldn't just do it himself?
He could make rings, he just knew they would not necessarily be accepted if made by him, even in his Annatar form. So, by using someone like Celebrimbor, who is related to Feanor, others are more likely to accept those rings! Meaning, it would be more unexpected when he began the forging of his own to corrupt all others :)

Unfortunately, all of your excitement about exploring Gil-Galad's history in the Amazon Abomination was for naught. The vile desecration that is this atrocity of a show does nothing but destroy the lore, ruins every character and self-inserts the writers and their ridiculous woke politics that sh*ts on every character, makes every elf a total idiot, makes every man either a weak coward or completely evil, turns every woman into a warrior that can do everything better than a man and makes Sauron just a misunderstood incel which the show tried to force into a relationship with Galadrial, oh and her rejecting him is why he goes full evil. Just another mythical beloved franchise destroyed by the ever encroaching intersectional woke leftism/liberalism. Lord of the Rings now joins the ranks of destroyed legacies, which includes but not limited to, Star wars Star Trek Dr Who The Wheel of Time Indiana Jones Everything Marvel Everything Disney before 2010 James Bond Superman DCEU And many more. All lost to the realm of woke remakes, reboots & remasters... They can't make anything original, so they corrupt ours. Tolkien said it best. "Evil cannot create anything new, it can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have already created....."

I would love to see Gilgalad in the Amazon production.
I learned again. Now find room to remember it 😬
Whoa, so the ring wasn't cut from his hand in a desperate act but was just cut off it after he'd been knocked out?!
Sauron was defeated by the Númenórean army at the end of the War against the Elves during the Second Age.
And yes, Anárion stood at Minas Anor.
Sauron withdrew to Mordor after the War of the Elves and Sauron. Sauron did not surrender to the Númenoreans until over 1500 years later in a completely different event.
As much Gil-Galad as possible 😁
Even if LOTRonPrime shows Gil-galad, it will be him doing something lame or he will be the first openly gay elf. Can't wait to see which it is.🙄
Sadly something like this will probably happen. They really can't help themselves. Personally I'm just sticking with the wealth of books and the LOTR movies that already exist.
@@truthisparamount8992
Yes, but we will have to listen to family and friends and classmates and coworkers, etc tell us loved the scene where Galadriel single-handedly take on the Numenorian Queen's guards or other stupid stuff.
@@Enerdhil A Noldorian elf as old and experienced as Galadriel should be able to at least hold her own against skilled Numenorian guards.
@@aarondemiri486
For sure, but she was never put in such a ridiculous situation in the books.
@@Enerdhil Ahaha that is true.
Gilgalad is my favorite character so…. Any screen time of his would be welcome.
I may be too powerful/strong to be a big character in the show so, I think he's going to be mentioned and slowly presented
A question I’ve always had, do you think numenor could’ve taken the undying lands if that is they ever landed?
They did set foot on Aman. Ar-Pharazon and some of his men even set up camp near Tirion.
@@sweeperboy Well Sauron let them take him so a fully powered Sauron with the ring would have went ham on them I am not sure if any Numenorian would have survived , just think about it , In the battle of the last alliance Sauron single handedly went through almost 30 miles of troops if I remember correctly just to fight Gil-Galad and Elendil , and he actually killed both altough he got so weak that he almost died , if isildur didn't cut the ring off he would have recovered , and this was Sauron after his body got destroyed and keep in mind that he only had about 80 years to grow back his strenght , and the last alliance army was altough weaker than the Numenorian army but it still was probably the second most powerful men/elf army in history , Sauron with the ring in his original body was an OP mf
Where can we find those maps?
Why geekzone had not upload a video in the past month ?
My area I live in looks exactly like the Shire. Green rolling hills and springs. Beautiful. Looks just like it and the way my house is I always have rainbows 🌈 across the hills. It always looks Beautiful I’m so blessed. Southern Star. Concerning Hobbit’s and concerning pipe weed
very good
Great video as usual guys, although i doubt we'll be seeing much if any of these stories or characters at all in the amazon show. Ride firm and strong!
Thanks! And hopefully we do get to 🤞
Do maedhros who soul burn 🔥 brighter ✨ than feanor
I want to see Gil-galad
He was almost in the LOTR trilogy and should of been in it.
Who would be next in line as King of the Noldor
By perfect right? None.
Elrond could try to claim the crown, but not only he was not a perfect fit, also there were too few of the Noldor to rule.
Gilgalad Gigachad
I know this is a random question, and has nothing to do with Gilgalad, but is there a reason that Sauron need help to make the rings, and couldn't just do it himself?
He could make rings, he just knew they would not necessarily be accepted if made by him, even in his Annatar form. So, by using someone like Celebrimbor, who is related to Feanor, others are more likely to accept those rings! Meaning, it would be more unexpected when he began the forging of his own to corrupt all others :)
@@TheBrokenSword alrighty, that makes sense. And i gotta say I didn't expect to get a response that was actually from y'all, especially on an older video, so thank y'all, I appreciate it 👍
Really hoping I'm wrong more corporatized Legendarium content comes out like The Hobbit movies (like forcing a government to pass anti-labor laws, for example), merely chasing profits instead of caring for the source material.
If the High Kingship of the elves was hereditary then Gil-galad would have to be Fingon's son, noy Orodreths
Love your videos, but pretty sure Celebrimbor was Feanor’s grandson, not his son
Where is the History of Middle Earth channel? This is the same guy, different channel. . . Right?
The lead is going to be a female character that Amazon made up. It will not focus on any character we know.
Is this confirmed or just an educated guess?
@@fingolfin9086 Just a guess. But with what they were saying. It seems to be where they are going.
Azog sent me here
It's yo man pistachio roy
I’m pretty sure I’m part hobbit?? I believe it
Why do you pronounce elves like it's alves? Or even "owlves".
Still waiting on the video about the most powerful character Lobelia Sackville Baggins 🤷♂️ 😆
Side character that has a good amount of screen time, we already know their doing politics so going to see made up characters with no lore take the front so hopefully there isn't to much politics to the show!
Video 55
I'm sticking to the books as I don't like having others' agendas shoved down my throat.
Amazon has already said they were going to put more "diversity" into their LotR show, so I'm going to avoid it.
I was actually apoplectic when the early leaks came out. Now I'm am numb to the them. I now know it won't be JRR Tolkien Arda but AMAZON's Arda, so I will probably watch the series just to mock it here on these boards and correct friend and families misunderstandings about the Second Age.
The blasphemy that is amazons rings of power butcher every character named in this video
The Woke series will probably make Gil-Galad a half black, half hispanic female lesbian with a disability.......
Lord of the Rings now joins the ranks of destroyed legacies, which includes but not limited to,
Star wars
Star Trek
Dr Who
The Wheel of Time
Indiana Jones
Everything Marvel
Everything Disney before 2010
James Bond
Superman
DCEU
And many more.
All lost to the realm of woke remakes, reboots & remasters... They can't make anything original, so they corrupt ours. Tolkien said it best.
"Evil cannot create anything new, it can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have already created....."
Please, just try to pronounce "el" some other way than "owl" in the future. Really annoying to listen to a story of an owlish hero gil-galad and hear of his friend owlrond.
How did he come up with all these gay names for the elfs?
You know their going to ruin Tolkien's story with woke garbage right?
