  • The dryer was working fine, I opened the door and it would not restart. I replaced the thermal fuse and now it works great. The fuse is hidden in back of the duct. DO NOT TAKE THE REAR cover off. There is nothing back there. It is all serviced from the front.

Part #? How does the bottom front cover come off? (that's where the issue that needs to fixed is located)? Not sure why this video is so long and goes over everything but what is needed to be fixed? How does that bottom tube come off? How many screws and where are they located? Are there any screws or bolts under the dryer that are holding that tube?

Would putting a heavy load and or wettish blanket in the dryer make it blow a fuse while running the dryer?

Fuse can blow for any reason. Their made to pop easily to prevent dmg to the motor

I'm so glad I found this video..Like you said... "15 to 20 mins if you have the part" and that is true.. Saved me a call to a repair guy and the most important $$$f$$. Found the fuse under $6.00 thru Amazon. Again Thanks..

I had a thermal fuse blow on our old Kenmore dryer and replaced it with a car fuse. My Kenmore fuse looked exactly like that one. Just check the amperage on the $17.00 fuse and use a cheap fuse of the same amperage. The wire leads fit the car fuse perfectly.
