Hey guys, in this video we show you how to change the oil on Mazda CX-7. We demonstrated on a 2009 with the 2.3 turbo engine. It is easy procedure but sometimes the oil filter gets really stuck so it will be better if you use the right socket tool. Make sure you add the required amount of oil to this Mazda CX-7.

why is my oil filter is not as seen in this video? could it be because I live in Canada? my oil filter, according to ID number from dealership is a middle tread screw on
@@jamiesumers I was thinking the same thing, I just bought a filter that has middle thread and has its own metal housing

I change the oil but was unable to change the little seal try to remove but it was unable to
hello guys i would like to asking you .. if we dont know the brand of oil transmission using before ....or as long as we using JWS 3309 or compatible is that okey mixing to other oil brand ... or have the same brand for this cx 7 turbo?? please tell me thnks ..appreciate a lot

I would not use an impact on the filter housing . You can damage the housing and cause leaks. This is a definite NO.
Hey! I’ve been having one hell of a time with my 2007 Mazda CX-7,first time doing it on this vehicle, tried it all, wrenches, cup sockets, paper, and an impact. The bolt will come off but the cap won’t MOVE! NOTHING is working. Please HELP!

I was watching videos on you tube about how to fix a common oil leak for Mazda CX7 and I change the circular rubber part. when I took off the hose I think the coolant fluid came out. I put new motor oil, oil filter and put more coolant fluid. I did a test drive and now my Mazda temperature going hot. what I did wrong? maybe I damage another part. what can I do?

Yes they can if they are damaged
all mazda cx7 still get sludge buildup even if you change the oil regularly
Interesting that you say that. Jiffy Lube acted like it was the most horrible thing they had ever seen and had no choice but to charge me $40 more for motor detergent 😄🙄
Is this car any good? I've been looking at one with 100 K miles on it. It's a 2007 model.
@Matthew Lomeli Yes, it's an AWD. I've been reading quite a lot of stories about issues with it, mostly timing chain problems, oil leaks, turbo failures, etc. All very expensive things. Common sense tells me to walk away but it IS a good-looking car though.
GymChess - Wondering if you bought the CX-7 after all? Bought my wife a two year old ‘07 in early ‘09. Now, with 120K miles on it, I’ve just replaced the original spark plugs. Will probably replace the front struts/rear shocks and brake pads. Had to replace the entire A/C unit a couple years ago. Still a good looking car and is very zippy to drive. Must admit it’s painful to have to use premium gas AND it gets horrible gas mileage. Am hoping the new plugs will help.

@@pre2222 - It was still holding up but I decided to trade it for a brand new 2020 CX-5 back in June. It was quite a step up - in terms of luxury & technology.
@@jrh11254 is premium gas a most? I have a 07 as well with 86k miles no problems, just been seeing a lot of bad reviews and comments on the turbo blowing and timing chain problems.
my filter doesn't look like that

There is a special filter cup to remove that oil filter.
