    My mechanic told me my headlights were unable to be cleaned, and the entire assembly would need to be replaced. You, my friends, have saved me probably $1,000 after installation and parts costs. Thank you guys!

    I've always found it helpful to go in one direction with one grade of sandpaper, then the perpendicular direction with the next grade and so on.

    Can the buffer be rented at Home Depot or someplace else? It's cheaper to replace the headlight covers than buy the tools.

      Headlights are at least $140 each. Harbor Freight has that tool for $30-40. Compound is another $20. Sandpaper is $5.

      You can buy new headlights but they’ll go dull after a while anyway sooooo where’s the logic in that? You can rent tools but the buffer is cheap anyway, they’d probably charge you the same amount it costs to buy a used one

    You need to put a uv coating on at the end, otherwise they will just fade and discolour again. The stuff you use will not do the job, also if you put UV coating on there will be no need to polish every 6 months.

    I'm not trying to be stupid but I believe The gloss works designation is a product line within the chemical guys brand. They have a few things called glossworks. Are you referring to the Chemical Guys GAP_618_16 Glossworkz Glaze (16 oz)? Because they have since changed their labels so I wanna make sure I am buying the correct product. I love how your headlight turned out.

    Easier to work with hood opened and use a smaller pad so you dont hit edges and risk to burn threw cleacoat as theres much less piant on the edges.

    GUYS GUYS GUYS! I have a 2013 Mazda two and the headlights are so bad that sometimes it doesn't look like they're on. They no longer feel smooth and glossy when I fun my finger over them. The thing is, I'm terrified of doing this; it sounds like you're just putting scratches in them and making them even more foggy. Even ruining them. Someone reassure me that this is the correct course of action for me. I'M SCAAARED!

      This is very common practice to polish all sorts of plastics, you wet sand and then polish to bring back original shine.

    Ouch it will create a crack in the long run... the surface will become thinner because of the sand paper

    • @spencer2721
      @spencer2721 4 роки тому +4

      Not at all, all you should be doing is taking away the discoloured UV coating, so should not affect the plastic. Where they are going wrong is not putting a new UV coating on at the end.

    • @gerardofollano8417
      @gerardofollano8417 2 роки тому +3

      What the hell are you talking about, its 600/1000/2000 wet sanding extremely fine barely removes any material.
