I Have as well. I watch Red Poppy Ranch and think, dang, wish Dave Whipple would do a homestead channel as well. Heath Skinner has done an amazing job with his property.
I love that double drop D guitar tuning in your vid's !! I like your stuff, esp. camping, but the background music is just what I like to play. Does Dave have a soundtrack ?? Because ... sometimes I just sit and play (for 50+ years) and that drop D music Dave has playing is just the type I like to play when the party's winding down and I'm just sittin' there playing in the background. Dave's background music is beautiful!
Dave has got to be one of the best YT narrators of his own videos! You can watch and listen to him the whole day. So refreshing while his work is so satisfying! Always 100% quality videos!
I've been watching you since like four years ago and since then, me and my dad been looking at land to build a cabin on, and now it's so weird watching your videos after buying land and building our first 10 by 12 shed on it. It's a weird sense of accomplishment, and during that entire journey from dreaming of owning a nice plot of woods up north, to building our first structure, I've just been watching your videos, but now it hits different. Past me from four years would have been so proud! Dave, You've been a huge inspiration throughout my journey!
Dave I absolutely love watching your video's. How you put them together and narrate them, they just flow so smoothly. Whenever I see a new video posted I watch it right away!
Love every one of your builds Dave! As they say… you have a voice for radio, clear, deep, articulate. And you clean up pretty well too! 😂 Thanks for another interesting video.
Did I just wait a month for a new video? Yes. Did I just enjoy the last 16 minutes watching Dave build a place to sleep? Also yes. Welcome back, Dave! I love the new content!
Love this! Dave, your videos are the perfect blend of carpentry, outdoors and relaxing audio. I appreciate the talent and the knowledge sir. Thank you for what you do. Be radical aye.
We really missing your videos Dave they just seem so interesting and entertaining and you have the voice that is so hypnotic I bet the kids love having you read them bedtime stories
Dave I really have to thank you for your videos. We have built a cabin similar to the first one, same outhouse and many other whipple inspired masterpieces. My wife and I have really had to do things on the cheap since we both lost our income and appreciate all your ideas for surviving Canada on the cheap. My largest expense is now Insulin and food. We are really scraping the bottom to build our one bed house, finish our outdoor kitchen and shower. We absolutely love this lifestyle but the mother in law thinks I am doing her daughter wrong. Oh well. Wife and I are incredibly happy and learning new skills and ways to save money or make money however we can without the nonsense of cities. We are surrounded by fantastic neighbors and people in general and have you to thank for a lot of it. God bless you, kind SER.
@@Controlled_Insanity_003 Sad , but true . However , with the availability of you tube , etc , even those who were not taught (and therefore couldn't teach others) can find videos on How To do just about anything . Dave Whipple's style of explaining while he is doing something is so valuable to us all ! Thank you for bringing up a good point !
The wife built us two queen sized beds from some rough cut pine we had. She found a couple of designs she liked and in a few hours had one bed built. She used a gray paint wash so the wood grain shown through and it looks amazing. We built our entire home ourselves using rough cut pine from our 30 acres. We had some Amish sawyers cut it for us and we built the house ourselves. Saved SO much money on just the wood alone. A Big box store was going to charge us around $11,000 for the wood which was inferior to begin with. The only thing we ended up buying was the subflooring and zip siding/roof sheathing, plus some custom made floor trusses for the 2nd floor loft. We started our project two years ago and are just about finished now. We documented the process and can now go back and see where we began and all the steps along the way.
Hey Dave! Excellent video! I really Iike the fact that there is room under those bunks for storing blankets, clothes etc etc. At the end of the bunks is storage space too! Really like those little lights! AWESOME! Thank You! Until your next video~~~Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🏠
Love Dave’s videos. There’s no challenge in throwing money at things. But being frugal & resourceful in way where you still have a great, functional setting is a thing of beauty. TY, Dave.
So glad to see your videos again! It brings me peace in this crazy world we live in! Keep on doing what you’re doing Dave we love seeing all your adventures! God Bless!
You are my favorite to learn from. You’re non-intimidating, encouraging, easy to understand and you don’t over explain or under explain processes. You’re very talented and willing to teach and share, which encouraged me to star building and I’m loving it ! Thank you.
My brother and I had bunk beds in our room. I slept on the top. They did NOT look as awesome as this build. Maybe I wouldn't have whined so much when it came time to go to bed. Such amazing talent!
Dave … Just saw your wife’s latest video; y’all are both an inspiration!!! Very nice build!!! Enjoy!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita (Houston), Texas. ✝️🎣👨🌾🦌🙏
Hey Dave. You have no idea how much your content inspire me to take action... About 2 years ago we bought an abandoned land with a 300-year-old stone house to be restored. This year I moved to the land and start the restoration work. What a shift in in my life. All started from watching this cabin built video couple of years back. I am very greatfull for everything you do and for you the content you put out. Thank you
Thank you for showing all the steps and for telling us things like "broke off the prong" so we don't feel alone when things like this happen to us and HOW to keep going without it. Sometimes our brains get stuck when we have to change it up
😂 Noticed you turned and grinned at the camera as you were carrying in that first piece of plywood. Glad you don't edit out the things that happen to me all the time too. Nice project Dave. 👍👍
You were perfectly built for UA-cam Dave, your video content is always superb, it never gets boring no matter what you get up to. Many thanks David in the UK.
This dude seems like the real deal, guessing he makes a decent living off UA-cam but still keeps things real... doesn't go buy flashy tools, and my favorite parts is always the old ford pickups! Just keep buying properties and building cabins, I want to live like you someday.
Just wanted to thank you for all your efforts Dave; You (and your whole family really) seem to put out the comfiest videos on the platform. You and your wife seemed to do a great job with your kids, which is never easy. You specifically inspired me to grab some tools, grab some wood, and start building things with the eventual goal and dream to have my own little cabin like yours when the time is right. Might sound silly, but you're an inspiration and make a genuine positive impact in the lives of others, and heck that's pretty radical, so thank you.
Nice to see you back. We have missed you and your awesome videos. You have great talent and did a fantastic job. Don't stay away so long lol thanks for sharing this great video. Love from Ohio

@@Bushradicalyou have a way of making “thrifty” cool and I absolutely love it. I turn 50 in October…..and growing up, I had bunk beds, slept on the upper bunk. Old WW1-era U.S.Army barracks bunk beds to be exact, built solid as a rock. Another great DYI video, Dave. I totally agree about the rustic furniture. Many years ago, I helped a good friend build an all cedar bed frame, king size.
