This video makes me miss my husband so much. We lived our dream in a cabin in NC before he died. He used to play guitar too, and we would sing together tucked away in our own little world. It was pure bliss. That time was too short.
    Cherish every moment together. ♡

It's super nice for 3 days. But down time to relax in the woods is only nice when you are escaping a busy life. When cutting wood and staring at trees is your life you start looking for ways to spice it up. Grass is always greener on the other side. Thats why best way is to build a bridge and migrate to the other grass when ever your side is looking grey for a day or two.

@Margie Herrera And one of these days we will end up having no choice but to live as this guy and your father did. They are the ones that people like me look up to.
When I started watching The Walking dead it wasn't until the 2nd season that I had an a-ha moment. Most of us will starve and freeze to death because we don't know how to grow our own food, live off grid, and cure ourselves with natural items. Maybe it's meant to be that way to make us appreciate people like your father. So hats off to your father and people like them. I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

I can't begin to tell you what solace I've found in these videos through the craziness of the pandemic. I suddenly found myself nursing in a Covid field hospital here in Europe and for a while at the beginning I was worried I'd never make it home. I'd go back to the staff accommodation and watch these and immerse myself in another life. Your narration is a joy, your voice has the most reassuring quality and the content you make is just beautiful. I'd put these videos on for my patients who were interested in the outdoors and I honestly credit you with the turnabout we saw in one particular patient who was truly on death's door for a while but ultimately walked out of that hospital under his own steam. Thank you for what you do, for sharing your extraordinary life, being so encouraging and helping us to see how achieving something like this is possible. I can't wait to have something similar one day, perhaps somewhere here in France or perhaps in the far north of Scotland like I've dreamed.

Carolyn, Bush, and @@pinkyvdt I know there's no guarantees on caring in this life but, am hoping one day I have children I cared and I teach them to care about me and the little I'd accumulated over the years for them to pick up after me in peace, not in war, and continue living using my things and my path. It's being hard to find a girl able to be willing to live a simple life at my side but, I hope. If not, maybe a generous Tenant or a good friend or neighbor may help me when I can not do it all on my own.

Best advice I can give you youngsters is to get some good job training, nursing, plumbing, carpentry - if you have a solid trade, you can always find work, unlike many office jobs where you sit at a keyboard everyday until you find out your job has been outsourced.
People will always need people to fix the plumbing, build a house, look after them when they get sick.
Save your money (NO joint accounts!) and someday you will have enough to buy a bit of land somewhere. Look outside your home country, too. It might be cheaper.

We weren't meant to be isolated from nature, but to be part of it. I wish beyond wishing that I had the money for a camp, I would spend so much time there. We had one shared among extended family years ago but sold off as it wasnt used enough... no one could value how much I wished I had it back, I would almost live out there.

Then, I came across this scripture: “8 Woe to those who join house to house, laying field to field, until there is no more space for you to dwell alone in the midst of the earth!” Isaiah 5
Now at 35 I have had country property for several years with an orchard, spring water & growing more & more of my own food. I love peace & quiet . The way we live today is totally against nature & the way God originally intended it to be

Too bad you think there are chapters in the Bible! Also, God put Adam and Eve in a garden not a city showing His original plan. He always told His people “Come our from among them & be separate.” He called Abraham from the city to move into a country land. I could go on and on.
Believe what you like it doesn’t concern me bc since I am not a cult leader, which by the way 99% of these pastors today are cult leaders no matter the denomination, I don’t get any money for sharing scriptures!
I can take Genesis 1:1 & knot that it was God who created everything. I don’t need to quote a whole “chapter” as you seem to think I should to understand that verse. You seem offended I hope you come to learn as the Bible says “11. For who among men understands the things of man except by the spirit of man which is in him? In the same way also, the things of God no one understands except by the Spirit of God.
      14. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2
Greek & Hebrew will not give you a true understanding( the Jews spoke these), hermeneutics will not give you understanding & neither will the most famous pastor but only God. Then when God gives understanding you can prove what you believe from Genesis to Revelation with no contradictions.
