I have a good number of the suggested apps that you have mentioned in the video. I also highly recommend the local now app as it has quite a variety of normal TV stations unlike some of the other apps. Ads don't bother me one bit as they allow me know what is out there. I cut the cord way back in September 2019 and I had to figure out back then how to catch some actual TV. I tried having a TV antenna which did not workout as well as I would have liked it to have worked. It was not up until the beginning of this year that I had reliable internet.
So what channels are free to watch? I'm talking about for channels like BET Mtv Tlc etc. I'm literally only watching pluto TV on the firestick rn cuz all the channels says you have to pay for. I thought all the channels were free When i type in BEt or Mtv or the show I wanna watch it says buy rent or download. When i click download what happens after that cuz i never get watch the show i want

Ok, I admit, I have not went through the whole thing. I have a question. I have a Samsung crystal uhd tv. It has two hdmi outlets. I am currently using a home theatre system, one of the outlets go to the Denon, which then controls the whole thing, TV, satellite, blue ray. Unless I am wrong, if I go a Firestick etc, it has to be plugged into the back which eliminates my Denon, correct? That is what stops me from doing this, love the home theatre.

FIRESTICK! !Roku doesnt let you side load apps, and it doesnt have EVERY app you might want to look at. Firestick wins because you can sideload any app. Plus, with Roku trying to be greedy now it doesnt look good for them since there are way too many other smart tv's with thier own Os's that arent trying to get providers to pony up even more money to them. We had all roku's through out the whole house until we figured out you cant get any app downloaded, just what they have in thier store. We have replaced everything with Android and FireTv's.
A note, some of these channels are for United States ONLY. i think IMDB TV is US only and I can't find Crackle either, so I am guessing that it is US only as well.

What I've noticed, most of what comes on throughout the day on Cable networks you can find 85% of it mostly free in all of these apps.

You could get an HDMI splitter.
