Hi Tanya, link for the USB 1GB Ethernet adapter is n\a for Android, however, your advice is sound, buying an alternative from Amz. Faithful & very happy subscriber. ❤
Hello Tanya, Appreciate all your help!! What do you recommend for a power source for the OTC cable?
Thanks Tanya
Thank you so much for this!! I just had a new broadband installed and was baffling me about the Firestick's not getting the full speed, I called my internet provider and they were saying how they should be faster so obviously they're not aware of this either (I sent them photos when they asked me about the setup on it and they said that wasn't right anyway, however at least one less job here knowing speed isn't an issue). Really would help if the Firestick told you this while doing a test as I'm sure lots of people are baffled as well, not realising the adapters and firesticks in general cap the speed.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this video and it's really helped ❤️🙏🏼
That was a great explanation Tanya. I changed over to a wired connection a while back based on one of your other videos. The speed and consistency has been much better for me.
Makes my speeds worse when wired somehow
Thank you so much Tanya! Always great to get updates. I use a mesh system as well with a direct connection, but I will now get the USB connector and the OTG. Thank you
Hello Tanya, as I mentioned, the Fire TV Cube has its own power cord with a round cord that goes into the back of the Fire TV Cube. The OTG adapter has it's own power supply end. So I connected an extra power supply cord to the OTG adapter & plugged it in directly into a power source. This seems to have resolved the issue.
Hi Tanya, thank you for the video and links, I purchased the products recommended and have attached to my Firestick. My speeds went from 48mbps to 200mbps, I was almost ready to quit Starlink, your video saved my frustration and thank you.
Thank You So Much!!! I learned so much from this lecture.
I hope things are going well for you!!!
Girl, thank you!!!! I had the Amazon adapter connected for a couple of years now. I just saw your video and removed it but did not have to do the additional connections, and now im at 350mbs vs the 95mbs I was getting 😊😊
Hi, which version of Amazon adapter do you have? I have the "fire tv stick 4k" - 1. Generation.
Thanks Tanya , I've ordered both items from your link.
Was fed up with buffering.
Your explanation was brilliant as usual.
Thank you 👍👍
Thanks for the information and nice seeing you back as it has been awhile.
This video was an eye opener for me.
BIG THANKS!!!
Just a heads-up, I bought the Rankie adapter based on your recommendation, and I also got 5 more USB to Ethernet adapters, and the Rankie is considerably slower than at least three of the others I tested. The UGreen USB 3.0 Hub units got me up to 362 Mb/s over my Ethernet connection while attached to my 1.0gb switch, the Rankie only hit 318 mb/s on my system. I used the link you gave for the OTG cable and it works flawlessly; thanks for this useful and informative video! The UGreen adapters I used were off Amazon
I bought the Ugreen adapter, and it only lights up on my laptop
Do you recommend the ugreen 3.0 usb x3 ethernet adapter then 🤔🤔
Many thanks 😊😊
Ty...it's nice to have someone like yourself that is easy to listen to and knowledgeable about your subject matter ...very good description in easy to understand dialog...
Thanks for your videos, Iv been using the otg adapter with a ethernet 3 port usb hub since I got one, but always have a look at ur content too see what's the bet results 😊
Nice! I was hard wired to my ethernet but getting less than 100 Mbps, couldn't figure out why when I had 3 times the speed on my 5G wifi. Upgraded my ethernet adapter after watching, so much faster - thank you!! Also I run a VPN (I use Nord) and it does *significantly* lower the download speed, so every little bit helps.
Additionally, just about all TV sets have only a 100 mb Ethernet adapter . The Sony range has a USB 3.0 port so u can bypass the Ethernet port with a Gigabit 3.0 USB adapter
Yes - I checked my LG OLED and need to upgrade as well. Thanks.
Thanks Tanya keep the post coming appreciate you
Thank you for the helpful info Tanya.
Always Clear always informative👍👍👍👍👍
Muy buen video e información. Gracias Tanya.
Excellent... thank you sooooo much Tanya. You've helped me big time.
Thank you love... Really best info I've got today.Definitely will be ordered from Amazon ASAP. Take care 👍💖
Tanya I continue to be educated by your videos. Thank you! Love the t-shirt! Have you ever added any bloopers to your videos? I love some comedy too!
Keep the great content coming!
Hi Tanya,, your videos are very, VERY good! You make your explanations clear and understandable.
So I've got both the Ethernet adapter and the OTG adapter lined up in my Amazon cart, and
now I'm wondering which Ethernet cable do I buy? A CAT 6,, a CAT 8, or which do I need?
I'll need one about 25 feet.
Thanks, keep these very good videos coming!!
CAT6 will do just fine 😊👍❤️
Your video was is the absolute Best on the subject of wired ethernet for the Fire Stick. Very complete and presented clearly so that we can choose what is best for our needs. Thank You😊
Glad it was helpful!
@@FireTVSticks Very much so. Thx
Outstanding. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for such great information my beautiful lady from across the pond n blessing to you
Hi Tanya another useful video, useful for fire stick , always wire my sheild much better than WiFi, looking fine😉
Great set up Tanya. I can see the perfectionalism in yr mentality showing in it. Glad everything is coming along. Always stepping up n above 🔥Killing the algorithm wif classiness. Love it bbygirl 😘
Thanks so much! 😊
This is perfect timing Tanya. I've just signed up to full fibre broadband and was thinking of hardwiring via ethernet cable. Invaluable information about the high speed ethernet adapter add-on you've shown here. I was also looking into ethernet cable speeds and one of the best is cat 8e (speeds up to 25-40 gig) although cat 5e (most common) is good for speeds up to 1gig. I've now also saved this video in my firesticks folder. Great work yet again Tanya 🤩🤩🤩👍👍🎉🎉🎯
Another great useful information, thank you .
The internet providers are quite different here in the U.S. as well as our routers. My router (T-link) doesn't have the ability for that setting you suggested. Our internet providers are also increasing prices for even the minimal of speeds too. It's getting worse!😱 Thank you for all the various methods you share with us. Hope you and your family are well and gearing up for X-mas and 2023! Missed you....your fan~beth in FL🌴
That's why you go with TMobile internet, 50 dollars a month and if you set up direct withdrawal they can never raise the price.
@Scott Shelters oh they CAN raise the price! AND, I DID speak with them! Only a few spots are available in each area to get their internet service. 🤔
I would swap that over $11 a gallon for petrol (Gas)! 😬UK
Hi Tanya ,
I live in Istanbul TURKIYE and my internet speed is 100 Mbps. It doesn't matter what I do my speed never excides 100Mbps . But I thank you. Hope soon IP will bring the Giga internet to where I live in Istanbul
absolutely brilliant I went from 84 / 92 mb to 318 mb with the new set up thank you
Can't believe the fire stick doesn't have an Ethernet port. This is beautiful.
Thanks for the information.
Glad you are back. Started to worry about you. Love your content ❤️
Thank you so much!
This is brilliant thanks.. I have tried this method and use this to speed up my Fire TV in the front room.. it works well when I plug the line directly into the router.. I have also, changed my fire TV recently in an out building connected to the same electrical source that worked well with a wifi extender now it doesn’t seem to work anymore and now unable to either pick up my memory stick or directly wire to the internet. For information I am using new splitter and a usb extension but to joy.. is there ANYTHING that you could help with in the settings in the new 4k stick I may have over looked. I have also tried to reinstall my older 4k stick but it still dosnt pick up my memory stick or direct internet.. signed Mr Frustrated 😂
Have you tried factory resetting all those sticks and starting from scratch?
You also need an updated router, cat 6 ethernet cables. Updated mesh system or better wi fi extenders
There are some settings you can change on the router. But distance is always a problem.
Have any of these tips helped resolved your issue?
Thank you!!! Made a HUGE difference. 😀
Glad it helped!
@firetvstick my firestick I have to one by my router is ok I have another which is in another room and it shows sometimes no internet as it’s so far from the router 😢do I need a booster I have those other connections you showed on both I have a low wifi package so that doesn’t help
Yes, it could be an issue with a bad signal as it's so far from the router. You could try a Wi-Fi booster - ua-cam.com/video/hLjuvmZV9bU/v-deo.html
Great tip on the 100MBps cap for the Amazon Ethernet adapter. I had no idea that was the bottleneck.
I have my Ethernet Cat5 connected to the back of my Nvidia Shield. Do I remove it and plug it into the USB Internet Adapter?
My mistake, this is for the Firestick. I'll have to run the Ethernet wire from the bedroom to the living room. The Firestick is in the Living room.
Tanya, can we also add a usb splitter to the other with female ends to connect both the Ethernet and our storage devices for the add storage???
I don’t wanna loose all my additional apps!
Please advise all!!!
Tanks Brad

Now what would be the configuration and what wiring adapters are needed if you want a wired connection at the same time have a 128gb flash drive configured as internal storage of the firestick?
Try this: ua-cam.com/video/MxIEsPwaqec/v-deo.html
Thanks 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 for all your hard work
Merry Christmas Firetvsticks.
Thank you much Tanya!
Tanya, hello! Thank you for the information! I have a question. My Pluto App use to work just fine, but now it is slow and barely works. I did hardwire my firestick through ethernet, but I'm still having problems with Pluto. Have they updated the app perhaps?
Are you running it off external storage by any chance? If so, move it back to the internal to see if it runs better.
Also, have you cleared the cache?
Hey Tanya, I was wondering if you could maybe share some advice on starting a UA-cam channel please? Do you script your videos or do you ad-lib it? Would be ace if you could do a video on how to get started and maybe show some of your setup etc? Anyway, hope you have a great Christmas, thanks for all your videos!
Hi Baz. Most of the time I script my videos. This makes sure that I don't go off topic and keep the content relevant. It also saves time as I don't make as many mistakes so recording content is quicker.
Good luck 😊👍❤️
@@FireTVSticks Thank you so much. Great advice 👍😃
Hey Tanya so good to see you been a while good video to.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Hello, which version of Amazon adapter does your configuration support? I have the "fire tv stick 4k" - 1st generation.
Yes, your Firestick is supported.
I love watching your videos. You are always so informative. Hope you and your family have a great holiday.
Thank you! You too!
Hello, I had those adapters and didn’t know what to do with them, was getting57Mmps before, hooked up the adapters and my speed is now 324Mps. Thank you.😊
I have that adapter that came with the firesticks too! I put it into the HDMI port on the TV and then plugged the firestick into the adapter because my modem and router are further away in an office. It has done nothing as far as speeding up the firestick. I have a VPN on too. I just think these internet providers have become "wise".
@@1BethMcBeth I get throttled all the time. As soon as I call about it they dent it but magically I am back up to speed a few hours later.
Hi Thanya.
I love all your videos they are grate and have being a big help.
I have a question for you, I have 2 fire sticks one in my living room (3rd gen) F 0S 7.6.6.4 Storage 1.916 G of 5.35 G. and one on my bedroom (2nd gen) F 0S 5.2.9.5 Storage 3.286 G. of 5.94 G. both are wire to my modem using a STP ETHERNET UP TO 40gbps and 2000mhz. I am using the after-marker adapter that you recommend (Rankie 3.0 to Gigabit) and on my living room after running a speed test I can get up to 275.43mbps download and 204.37mbps upload but on my Bedroom, I can only get 81.88mbps download and 130.52mbps upload. Is this because this is a (2nd gen)??
My internet plan is 300mbps.up and down
Wonder if my problem is the fire stick 2nd gen and get a new 4k max ? do this fix the problem ?
Tks and hope you can give me and advice.
yes, I would assume so.
Great video thank you!
My pleasure!
Nice 🙂👍 Thanks 😊
Damn, i really need to read what im buying 😂, didn't know the official Ethernet adapter was capped.
Thanks tanya great video and info 👍
My pleasure 😊
Just bought the cables you suggested and my speeds have gone up to 182mbps, thank you so much! Football in UHD instead of plain old SD
Hello will these adapters work on the old and new Fire cubes for faster Ethernet speed?
Yes
Thank you for this video. Are the speeds only increased when connected to fast fibre ? I don't have fast fibre and my usual speed is around 52 Mbps.
What speeds are you paying for?
@@FireTVSticks Thank you for replying, I'm getting what I pay for but just wondered whether a few more Mbps is achievable.
Thank you, Tanya!
Such valuable information!
Btw, you look fabulous, as usual!
Peace and Love to you!
✌✌ and 💕💕
Thank you. I would still be having problems with my tv if not for you thanks again
Hello Tanya thanks for the info as always. A while back you provided us with a website where you could watch sports replays somehow I lost my bookmark, can you please give me the URL again for sports replays thank you
Hi Dorian, I can no longer post videos of that nature on UA-cam. Please refer to my website firetvsticks.com Thank you
@@FireTVSticks Ok thanks I love your website use it alot. Is it possible you could tell me the url for the sports replay site ? 🙏
this is very useful information!
Very usefull. Greetings from Belgium.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!!
Just reading about the Rankie adapter, looks great but at the bottom it says" Does not support Windows RT or Android" So will this work with the Firestick as that runs Android?
The Rankie adapter is what I used in this video and the speed test results shown are the results I got using the Rankie adapter. It worked for me!
Hi, I tried it, got the kit from your links but the firestick wouldn’t open, it just cycled through the logo, I then went back to the original cables, worked fine, tried again, same failure, guess it’s not for me but it looked good, I’m 55mbps but when I turn off the vpn it’s 230 so it’s probably okay, thanks, Rob.
It works, I had another issue, I’ve now sorted and it genuinely increases the speed, excellent and thank you very much.
Awesome! My problem solved. Leads ordered! Can you recommend a great lab cable for 4K fire stick? I am wary of some of the Chinese ones.
Any CAT5 or CAT6 cable will do the job :)
Tremendous information.
I bought a 4K max Firestick for my LG C9 tv. I have cat 6 hardwired throughout the house. Sky Superfast fibre has a speed of c145 mbps. On the WiFi I was getting 90mbps, with this 145 mbps. Yet to be seen if I upgrade my broadband it will keep up but it’s due soon so watch this space
I learn something new everyday thanks
Running the firestick speed test in Network settings I consistently get about 30-50 Mbps on 5G (about the same as the 2.4Ghz speeds), but Analiti says it's around 200. Ok to assume the Analiti speeds are more accurate?
Try using a web browser (Silk or Downloader) and go to the fast.com website. This is how I test my speeds.
I agree ..i hard wired mine over year ago.. Hardwire is always better ...
I have two 4k firesticks in the house on 500mb vodafone broadband I've 270mb speeds the one furthest away from route but my personal one right by the router has only 50mb am I missing something they're both on 5ghz setting 🤷🏼♂️
There could be something interfering with the Wi-Fi signal to the Firestick that's closest to the router.
I dont hsve the option of 5g on my firstick so do these adapters still make a difference
Yes as they do not connect via the Wi-Fi signal (5 GHz).
The Fire Cube 3rd gen has a usb 2.0 port, can I connect can I connect this type of ethernet connection directly, will I still get up to 480 mps download? Same applies to a usb 3.0 hub with gigabyte ethernet. Does the USB 2.0 port on the firecube provide enough power for hub with gigabyte ethernet
I'm not sure, I'll take a look.
Love the new studio you had built Tanya 👍👍🤩🤩
Thank you!

Hi, I love your videos. But I still have buffering problems. I have a wireless router (5G). An OTG cable w/USC-2 256G SanDisk. FS- V07. I watched you demo but still can't seem to get either 50%-50% or total FS memory. I removed the SanDisk and reformatted is again, but I never see any more storage on the FS. Hi Tanya I've use the adapter and the otg cable on my tv but for some reason there is no Internet connection on the fire stick any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
Are you plugging the ethernet into your TV or the Firestick? It needs to be connected to your Firestick as shown in the video.
Omg I missed you beautiful. Hope you are doing well. I have a question, lately my 4k Max has been doing updates every other day so is this normal?
Yes, there have been a lot of updates recently. I'm not sure what they are though sorry!
@@FireTVSticks thanks
Hi. I am an avid fan, love you 😏, your channel and all your advice. I purchased an otg cable and currently have a usb drive connected for additional memory and use wifi. My question is...The otg cable is usb 2.0 which maxs out at 480mb. Do you know of any otg cable that is usb 3.0 so i can get the full speed of my network and a gigabit network adapter i can use but has a usb port so i can continue using my sd card as external memory? Thanks in advance for your response. 👍
The Firestick's micro-USB port is 2.0, meaning the maximum speed you can achieve on a hardwired Firestick is 480 Mbps.
Hi. Found your fire stick speed video very good. I use Bt full fibre internet. I checked the speed on my fire stick through my router and it’s only 2.4 ghz. It does say it’s suitable for 4K streaming. I Carnt see how to change that setting to 5ghz . Any ideas how to do that? Thank u
You'll need to look up your router settings and turn on the 5 GHz range if supported.
Ugreen gigabit 3-0 usb device is far better with an additional 3 usb 3-0 ports for same price as Amazon stock one , and gives you far better speeds and the support to add more devices
Great thing while it work for a week, now back to how it was...back to looking on a fix again.
If your speeds have dropped after a week, I might not be the fault of the adapter. It could be your ISP throttling?
Would you be able to tell me or show me how to creat kodi builds so I can watch poverty, movies ect if you have a link on how to do this please
Sure, I have detailed tutorials on my website firetvsticks.com 👍
Awesome Content, Thanks
Hi, I followed your video on how to add a USB memory stick and added the extra cables to my firestick. So do I now only need a split USB connector? By the way GREAT SITE..

Great work once again beautiful ❤❤👍👍
Yes :)
Thank you. Friends do not believe wired connections are still useful, blaming my age as "tha'ts the way they did it in the 1980's boomer" Yes, but as Scotty of Star Trek (the origina series sayd) "I can't be changin the laws of physics. " Wired RJ45, thunderbolt or new USB C gen 2 are faster than multi access WiFi (particually during the holidays with famiy and guests all using cell phones/mobiles , laptops, ipads, etc)
Basic videos are still really helpful. I just hope my family and friends listen to you.
if Firestick is running on direct plug ethernet, does it make sense or can you even change the DNS ? Thanks
I'm not sure, sorry.
Question, I get around 200 mbps on wifi but still get occasional buffering. Going to 100 with a direct connection, although slower it should solve the buffering because it’s more stable…correct?
Correct. However, buffering can occur for other reasons that can be fixed with these tips: Fix Firestick BUFFERING With 5 SIMPLE Tips 2023 UPDATE - ua-cam.com/video/sfGCCpBLEn8/v-deo.html.
Just bought both the adapter and lead.
