Big point to note at 2:22... Set your camera settings to 23.98 (NTSC) and NOT true cinema 24 in your global camera settings. This option to enable "HDMI RAW Data Output" was disabled for me until I did that... Thanks for the video, well done and much appreciated!
I sold my GH5s and a month later this came out. I'm happy with my Z Cam but fu***** the GH5s has a vintage look I love especially paired with the GHalex color.
Great video! Exactly what I needed for updating my setup. Have you actually made a video on shooting with this setup and / or working with the footage? This would bee a dream cone true :)
What kind of file sizes are you seeing with ProRes Raw and ProRes Raw HQ? We're trying to decide how much to invest in storage. Like, how big is a 60 second video? One hour of footage?
When you have set-up this configuration DOES the camera still record simultaneously to the SD card? If not is there a way to record to both the Nija v and the SD card at the same time?
Do you mean, that the files that the ninja V saves.... are 12-bit too? or are those compressed down to 10-bit? Previously if you scanned files provided by Atomos, those were encoded in 10bits.
I got a question since you are using the 0.64 speed booster versus the 0.71. Do you notice any vignetting on the sides whenever you're shooting anything wide?
Thanks! The couple of things I've learned about RAW recently is that it bypasses ANY camera processing which includes Noise Reduction, Sharpness, and even Lens Correction. I removed the noise from my footage using Neat Video Pro. It's the absolute best Noise Reducer in existence. You can try it here: neat.scrapyardfilms.com. They have 2 versions, 1 for 1080p and another for 4k. I bought the 4k version and it was totally worth it. Makes those shots look like they can be on Netflix lol!
@@StereoRevolte no I never did really get a clear cut answer but I guess I never ended up using that much as I still shoe in log. I suppose like other settings it doesn’t really matter because you can change your impose, but if you stick to the base ISOs, then you would probably get the most dynamic range, but there is no science behind my guessing.
Thanks for the vid mate. Can I ask what ISO u were using? The GH5s has dual native ISO at 400/2500 and 800/5000 for Vlog - I have been using the Vlog ISo's for RAW also, but it is obvious the 5000 ISO has WAY more noise than 800 and even more than 400 - do u know a bout this ? cheers
Great video! I only have 4K50p or 4K25p to choose from, not 60p, 30p and 24p as you showed. Is it a setting somewhere or is it that my camera is sold in Europe?

What type of hdmi cable did you use to record raw man? Because I heard that not all cables work well :) thanks

Can I shoot simultaneously raw with Ninja and video with GH5s?
Just what I needed . Thanx bro
No problem!
I cant figure out what in the world is going on, the HDMI RAW Data Output option on my GH5S is greyed out no matter what I do...
Hey have you figure it out?
@@artemus80j.4 Yes! You can't have your system frequency be set to 24Hz, it appears that RAW doesn't support that mode.
@@Artagah Oh really?? Interesting. So you have yours set at 50?
@@artemus80j.4 50 or 59.94 depending on your region. The standard if you're in the US is 59.94
@@Artagah Great solve, Artem!
The HDMI RAW is greyed out in my GH5s but I have the ProResRAw activated. Do you know why this is?
Update the camera.
Which SSD are you using, are you having any issue or problems recording.

No because he only is using Full frame lenses.
The sigma 18-35 is an APSC lens so it is cropped therefore will vignette with the 0.64x
@@KallusGarnet I see, thanks
Hi will Istill be able to record raw if I have no Vlog installed?
Exactly!! Thx Bro!
Great video! I see you work with the 24_105 L, have you tried the autofocus with this firmware? Thanks!
Great vid! How did you get your footage so clean? Everything I've shot raw has a TON of noise, even when lighting is perfect.

You may also be experiencing noise in your footage if it's not properly exposed. Under exposed footage is a major cause of noise in digital film.
@@Crahenvlog can you image having to use NV ( which I love ) on a huge amount of footage though. That would be a nightmare workflow
@@camcamwatt total nightmare but completely worth it.
What ISO are you suppose to use on the GH5S when capturing Pro Res RAW on the Ninja V?
Have you found an answer to that very interesting question yet? I would also like to know :)

Yes because you’re at 50hz - PAL. Here in Australia we are 50hz, so we get 24cinema, or 25/50/100/125/150/175/200 FPS :-)
change your frequency in the menu to NTSC
Awesome man thanks for doing this!
great stuff. cheers.
Appreciate it! I plan on doing more Camera-focused and cinematography videos in the future. Especially with the GH6
My footage comes out graded, not raw. We start a film tomorrow and I’m panicking
Amazing! Thak you man!
Nice video.
Thank you very much!
Damn thats crazy
does it also work with the gh5?
No. You get 4k 60p 10bit with the ninja v though.
is it possible in GH5 too ?
No. You get 4k 60p 10bit with the ninja v though.
are you dubbing over your videos your lips dont look like they move right with the audio
