Dude Yui Ishikawa is one of my absolute favourite VAs ever.
Her voice in Violet Evergarden was when I really started to take a interest in her VA skills and now she's literally everywhere.
From AOT,Violet Evrrgarden to games such as Nikke, PGR and Nier, she's really talented!
Now whenever there's a kuudere role that needs filling in some anime/game you can be sure she'll be one of the first names!
I can't imagine anyone else doing Mikasa's voice. She's so skilled

Coz you can barely hear him in that song it is just a back singer ,the second part when is linked horizon to sing I mean he has made some of the most amazing opening like opening 1,you can just hear the first part I'm sure they have made some video with only the mikasa VA part

Ishikawa Yui has voiced some of my favorite characters so i have a lot of respect for her
As someone who is really insecure of their voice it warms my heart to know that her work has been so well received. I loved Ishikawa’s voice as Mikasa. Especially when she is screaming while charging into a fight, you get a sense of frailty that goes so well with her character. And that rooftop scene 😩 you really feel like she doesn’t want to be violent but will do so out of love for her friends.
She nailed it perfectly and I’m so proud of her.
Mikasa is by far my favourite fictional character. And Yui is such a big part of what brings that character to life for me. For a character who's fairly quiet and focused, she does a lot to show her emotion.
I remember hearing her voice in A Silent Voice as she voiced Sahara. I literally love her voice sm 😭❤

Yui's voice is the most recognizable to me. One day my brother was playing a game in his room and I heard Yui's voice. My first thoughts were that he is watching scenes from AoT, but I realized that weren't the lines from anime. It made me playing that game which was Nier Automata and that is how I discovered that masterpiece of a game.
Her role as Voilet Evergarden was fucking insane man

Not to detract from our appreciation of her, but voice actors needing to work part time (or even full time) jobs in unrelated industries is super common, even highly demanded actors will still need to hustle to make ends meet. In fact I’d be more shocked to find a VA who only works as a VA
Well, big leagues like Yuki, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka now definitely don't need to work as anything other than seiyuus and singers and I am sure that they also created their own businesses to secure their future in case they stop getting work or they decide to retire from VA industry.

Mikasa was my first crush in aot. She's best girl and always has been best girl. Love her she's so cute
People usually have crush on girl's look and appearance but I have crush on her(Yui Ishikawa's) voice like I can listen to her whole day and still won't feel bored. Even though I am not japanese so I don't speak japanese but still I started learning japanese a couple of months back and someday may be I will be able to listen to her VA in AOT with more delicacy and emotions without subtitles :)

I fell in love with her in Violet Evergarden and I was already watching AOT around the time VE came out. However, I didn’t recognize her voice at first in VE when in fact I’ve heard her from AOT. It’s so crazy when I found out I was dumb enough to not realize that sooner. Lol. I love her voice and when I heard she could sing, I loved her even more! Now that VE and AOT are done and she recently voiced my favorite characters Elise (Doctor Elise, manhwa adaptation to anime), and Stelle from HSR. She’s a gem in the industry 😭❤️

I'll suggest everyone to give Fate Grand Order Lostbelt 6 Dramalogue a try. There, she play Morgan Le Fay, from an alternate history, where the Arthurian character is ruling the world. She manages to hit all the right notes and bring humanity to Morgan.

Honestly, I don't understand how people think Ishikawa's voice is "generic". Maybe it is hearing her speak normally for a long time might give you a false impression or something because her voice while being remarkably "Japanese", has such a deep resonance to it that her characters always stand out if given a chance. My two favorite Female Seiyuu are Mai Nakahara and Inori Minase and neither of them have such resonance when they perform.

Yeah Japanese work culture is really hard. Jobs like voice acting don't pay much so even the best voice actors often have to do extra jobs

I only ever heard her as 2B, Mikasa and more recently in Undead Unluck. (Incredibly small role) She has an OK voice, it’s a shame her other projects look like to be such uninteresting animes.
