- This was from Anime Japan 2021 and it's my very first (and most likely my only) non-radio sub. I'm quite nervous of how the end product turned out.
This is one of 6 (if I'm not mistaken) parts of the entire video where each VA chose one scene they find the most memorable to share with the audience.

Well Eren dying was one of the most anticipated endings.
Kaji thanked Isayama on 9th April , on some social media platform, and also said that he will do his best in voicing the character.
He couldn't stop crying
but imagine Yui voice acting the last panel of 139. just thinking about it makes ME cry

Ishikawa Yui's reaction is really adorable, she's just really enjoying the voice acting to the point that she became Mikasa herself.
She is not much like Mikasa actually. She is just very meek. Even her voice is different from the tone she uses for Mikasa.

you can just feel kaji-san’s emotions. every interview I’ve seen of him lately when he talks about eren he just gets so somber. his connection with that character is so deep and I’m grateful we get to hear his performance. part 2 is going to hurt so much b
Yeah, even in one of his gaming streams done during Eren's birthday, the mere mention of Eren just gets him feeling somber...he even said that it doesn't feel fitting to congratulate Eren on his birthday but instead he wished Eren a "thank you for being born" which IMO was just touching, shows how attached and understanding he is of this character ;_;

Kaji also talked about the other day where he came across and took a picture of the purple flowers(I think it's called bellflowers in English?) similar to the ones in AoT
Funnily enough the flowers mean 'sad farewell' and 'enduring love' also the birthdate associated to the flowers is Mikasa's birth date...idk if all this is coincidence but yeah... ;_;

I personally don't think so, for one, he tweeted that he cried reading the final chapter...and two, he already mentioned in his gaming stream(the one with Reiner's VA) that even he doesn't know the ending, he might've had an idea of what could happen, but that's about it, IMO

@@Nic_Ryuu Knew that the last chapter would explain why Eren acted the way he did in chapter 112. Yuki Kaji mentioned having one chapter left and in another moment during this event, insinuated that Eren will talk to Armin.
The last chapter must be makes them really sad, everyone is sad, but i think it’s an another level of sadness for Kaji Yuki who voiced the most important character in this masterpiece

The voice actors relate with their characters so deeply, that somehow they see themselves as the characters in real life. It's really nice and interesting. Meanwhile thank you for the sub🙌☺️.

They grew so attached to these characters. Seven years of dedication, dubbing it and talking about it in their radio. Now it feels like everything is falling apart
Kaji-san genuinely feels sorry for what Eren did to Mikasa, you can hear it in his voice. Ishikawa-san is so invested in Mikasa's character and her feelings for Eren and Marina-san, just like Armin, is fully aware of both their feelings and struggles and is trying to support them through it. It's amazing how in character they all are
As i expected, Yuji Kaji didnt record the scene in the same room with Marina and Yui (usually the VAs would record in the same room) bcz they are really close actually (the 3 of them)and it might affect their performances of the table scene... wow the length [redacted] goes through to perfected the anime is astounding... MAPPA still cool though
As cute as this may sound, no, it had nothing to do with that.
Kaji already talked about how, because of COVID restrictions, they can only come to the studio in small groups for recording sessions and there can't be a lot of people in the same room or recording booth. In this case it was more likely a combination of COVID restrictions and Kaji's schedule, though. He's in like 20 recording sessions a week sometimes.
@@lionward8634 but the table scene only had 4 people and they still separated YK from the other 3..and if u look into the list of Japanese cast, YK's name is not grouped with MI, IY and SA. His name was on top alone. I think MAPPA did that
Yep! They talked about this in the radio show too.
MAPPA is responsible only for animation production, NOT sound production. That would be the responsibility of Masafumi Mima and the team at Techno Sound.

I'm really looking forward to the day where he gets to discuss his opinions on it, I'd like to get his perspective...simply because he deeply understands Eren's character(Deniers go away, have you seen this man being so deep in character that he just randomly speaks like Eren at times whenever it's on a day where they did AoT recordings)
He never said he liked it, he just stated that he cried and thanks Isayama for the series. It could also mean that he cried after reading such an unlogical and dumb Ending to his beloved series
@Nikki yea Yuki kaji indeed understands Eren's character. He said along the lines that "manga isn't ended yet, there is still 1 chapter left, and to say that things are like the way it seems, feels off to me". So even he had a hunch that Eren is probably putting this facade ever since timeskip, and this is not how he really is, or feels. He sort of predicted here that it's early to make judgement on Eren's character after timeskip when the story is not finished yet, and it indeed become true. Eren internally had always been this unsure tragic character who cared very much about Mikasa and his friends.
It's great to see that even the Voice actors are able to understand and predict certain things in the manga, which became true, cause they themselves were able to relate to them at least a bit, after voicing after them for all these years
@Matteo Tejo the ending was mostly logical, with some pacing issues. But overall it wrapped up the story well with close to almost no plot holes.
And as for Yuki Kaji, I'm sure he tweeted because he liked the ending. Cause the ending is in no way dumb as much as your comment is.
@@tejuspotatus I ranted enough on other socials regarding some parts that I felt could've been done better but I've just reached acceptance at this point, it's not the worse, but I would've definitely liked more build-up
This is Eren's voice actor, and Japanese culture is such that they tend to avoid conflict whenever necessary...also there's this thing called 'marketing' / 'publicity' soo even if some of them have a few doubts over some parts, it'll never be voiced out
At most, I can see them 'roasting' some parts in their radio, kinda like how Kaji teased Floch's hair on whether it was detachable or not, or Erwin's eyebrows xD

I mean Kaji-kun might’ve felt as sad as Ishikawa-san, if not more sad than her, right? He really loves Mikasa, it’s obvious by his twitter posts and how he talks about her in radio shows. Funny enough, his feelings mirror that of Eren’s and that’s why I think his acting in that scene was spot on. He could empathize with Eren, so he clearly portrayed what he was feeling.

All the characters adult voice is so perfectly well dubbed. It's great to hear the voice of these three specially from being a kid to adult. Not to forget that table scene where Eren's voice is so empty and cold but yet feels hurt.

Mikasa has always been the one. I read through chapters many times and it was more obvious, I never understood how some people just denied that fact with paragraphs of explanation which didnt make sense.

I'm glad that Kaji, Ishikawa, and Inoue were casted for the roles of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. They work so well together that the roles were specifically made for them. Even their beliefs and feelings about Eren in the final season are very conflicted.
I can't wait for their final performances in the rest of the finale dropping in Fall. Kaji, Ishikawa, and Inoue dedicated their hearts to their characters. ✌🥺😭
Man watching this after everything ended feels so wholesome. Thanks to the voice actor Kaji Yuki for taking the Eren's role. His trust in eren when without knowing the ending he already suspected something is off when eren said those lines about mikasa. He really is connected to eren so well.

I think it’s pretty obvious if the audience understands about Eren’s goal well without even reading manga. But as a manga reader, the final chapter is really a final nail to the coffin, confirming why he did what he did.
