The amount of adjustment and detail with this is insane, should be a huge asset moving forward 👍
And sideways.
Can’t wait to hear the engine at full noise!!! You, like me, have tasted how good PDM are and it’s going to be difficult to go back to fuses and relays!
I didn't realise quite how many different inputs you could include into a switch function that you can with a PDM and your intro is just spot on.
Getting closer, well done Matt
Great stuff Matt ...that motor sounds so sweet can't wait to see it charging around some tracks!....good shout out for Millers oils they are local to me and I've used their stuff for years.
That throttle response was quick. Sounds good Matt.
This Mini just keeps getting cooler and cooler, love ya work Matt, very nice clean build😊, watching from The Real Down Under Tasmania Australia🍺🍻🍺🍻 🇦🇺🤝🇬🇧😎👍✌
Thanks mate
Weirdly, I'm just as excited to see this fire up as I am about the Volvoghini first start that showed up one video above in my subscription box.
One thing to note with the green indicator lights, that indication is only valid while the PDM thinks the output is on, it doesn't account for physical issues for example a pump failure, you'll want to include some protection logic around engine temps or oil pressure, if engine temp is higher than your engine can withstand then limit max rpm to 700 etc, that sort of thing. Looking good though, it'll be a beast.
Looking great, sounds great. Lots of good info about the PDM too, thanks
The engine does seem very responsive, your engine stabiliser must be good too, no pitching at all. The PDM looks very configurable, really looking good.
I’ve just got into the aim stuff, thanks to videos like this I’ve made the right choice
It’s definitely quality kit 👌
Cant eait to see this on the track, great stuff.
The engine sound like bike!!
Super work
Hello from France 🇫🇷
LOL I was waiting for the flames!
Sounds sick dude! Nice one!
The engine sounded strong and quick to rev... Awesome. Going to be quick..LAG
Love to hear a mini tickover…unless it’s very cammy sounds saweet!!!
Sounds great
The build is coming together you should have some good fun in it, love the quality of your work not sure why you chose a Merc not a lot to weld to on them
It was a cheap late night impulse buy followed by immediate regret 😂
Awesome build
Sounds a lot like my ZX-1400 Ninja with a Hindle full stainless header.
200+ HP at rear wheel. 🏍🏎🚗😃
Atleast it started there's a good thing..
Well done Mr 😎
Fantastic
Impressive 😎
Great video
Wow!
Great stuff
Always like you videos!
Good job on the tumbnail 😅😂👌👌
merci très intéressant....très beau projet
Золотые руки!
Awesome 😎
Bravo!! 👏 🧙♂🧚🧚♂🧚♀🎶
running with no exhaust reminds me of the time i was moving an allegro on the starter, with no manifolds on. unfortunately the petrol pump [which is below the open head] supplied lots of petrol straight down it's neck, full throttle across the main dealer workshop, + luckily i missed everything... but run my ankle over...
Dang
these flames!
Wow 👍🏽👍🏽
Lovely bit of kit, wish it was around years gone by farting around with old looms and ecu’s for days
Sounds like a Renault 10
If you need recommendations for a good exhaust guy in your area Matt, drop me a PM. 👍
Um I came to see fire
I thought all my content was fire 🔥 Sorry
😕 No Racing this year. Something look forward next year.
Kewl!
Call it the petit pois
I used a heavy duty hydraulic line for my engine once, pipe didn’t have enough flexibility, half way through a rally the fitting on oil cooler snapped off. End of rally ☹️
I think I will get another one as I’m not happy with the routing. 👍
matt, for some reason youtube has hidden my sub and notification?....you only appeared on YT recomendations....
Press the notification bell 👍
@@Urchfab Matt, I did that before and have had no problems till now. I am just hoping that its just me and no one else. UA-cam unsubbed me, dont know why. All hooked back in now. Thanks Matt....
I hate living in NZ when it comes to car stuff, in our pesos that is over 4 grand landed here.
Jeez, do you earn 4 times as much over there?
@@Urchfab WE wish! most are on 20 ish bucks an hour, equivalent to 10 quid. So car guys here are pretty dedicated.
sounds balsy! what's the redline on that wee tractor motor?
I’m not actually sure.
@@Urchfab lord hates a coward! 😁
like number 420 W00T
Any reason you picked millers over valvoline
It was recommended to me.
What degree of timing you running
No idea
C&E Plant?
Yep
Nice photoshop... err, flames!
ahaha what a clickbait on preview like it :)
Sounds awesome but all that electronic stuff would fry my 68 year old brain.

I’d be interested to see what weight oil you’d get away with because that treacle has got to be responsible for loads of drag in the gearbox ??
What is the fastest guy using ?😂
My mate uses miller's 10w60 on the track in his Mx5 turbo conversion ,thought the same but it does make sense, he's flat out all the time the oil degrades quickly the engines sound mint, the engines are from the 323 turbo many moon ago
Miller's 20/50 CTV has been developed for racing minis, it's what most of the grid use and many of the best engine builders, that or Valvoline. Important thing is high ZDDP content to help protect gearbox, the oil has two jobs in an A series.

Seams really counter intuitive doesn’t it ?
But what works , works.
Cheers boys
That’s what was recommended to me bud.

I now know it’s right because of the gearbox inclusion. Wild setup. For 60-70 year old design. Cheers dude
