Whoever or where ever you are, thank you. I have a Juki DDL-8300N, am isolated thanks to this quarantine because I have asthma and cancer, besides being old. So I was seriously panicking when my tension spring went limp because my fabric stash and machines are my sanity! Your video was easy to follow and now it's happy and I'm happier. Bless you!
Thanks to both of you for the great explanation. My 8700 tension adjustment has been giving me all sorts of problems. Now, I finally understand why and what to do about it.
Great video! I have the Juki DDL-9000c-fms and have a problem with the tension disks being super loose. When I tried to fix that the entire tension knob came out and now I am having difficulty putting it back in correctly. At least your video gave me an idea of how it goes in (mine has a pin guide in addition to the spring) because I cannot find a single video on my model. Wish I lived in your area because finding someone who fixes industrials is hard!
Hi! Thanks for your videos. The base of my tension assembly broke off into my machine. I added WD-40 and tried to pry it out with pliers, but no luck. Do you have any idea how else I can remove it? Thank you!
I'm trying to replace mine from a used machine I have, it definitely didn't get the TLC it should have from the previous owner, but it's in good condition. Any suggestions to get one out that is stuck? I took the screw completely out, so I know it's not the screw holding it in at all. Didn't know if I could spray wd40 in there, I didn't want to do that without a professional saying it was ok. Is that an option? Having the same issue with the big cover on the left side of the machine that covers the wick and needle arm assembly. Any suggestions are super appreciated. Thank you 😊
Thank you for the good work.please was wondering what to do or the right way to replace the thread tension. Because the under thread keeps bunching up and not neat
The problem with my machine now is that that cylinder thing is like permanently attached to the machine...i cannot remove it even when i remove the screw. what should i do?
You guys are awesome. You just saved me from losing my mind. I have the engineering guide and everything but I need to be able to see things with my eyes. I can finally get back to work now. Thanks guys!!
Hi. My name is Shantal. Thank you for the video, I have a DDL-8500. My thread was snapping after every 5 seconds or when I would double tack. I tried to re thread it. Still happening. Then I tried to change the tension. Now the under stitch is bunching which never happened before. Would appreciate your assistance. Thx
Hi thank you for this video it was very helpful as is the video for replacing the rubber band (thats not the name of it but right now my brain just went blank...) ok i followed your instructions and Jose' too but my tension, after i tighten screw on the inside n outside and then i bring up the foot it all loosens up again, it almost pops out the when you loosen the screw on the outside to make the adjustment...the screw is still tight but the actual tension mechanism is loose again as if i never tightened the screw??? what am i missing? i hope you understand what i am trying to explain. thanks much..
@@Sewinggold i dont know, i pushed until it stops, as per jose, then i screwed the screw back in but when i turn the knob to adjust the tension it almost pops right back out and i have to screw it again..i so not happy..
@@Sewinggold thanks again for responding...i think i figured it out, well you gave me something to go back and check again and it worked!..now i have another issue, i attempted to test sew some leather and my thread was not right on the underside so i attempted to adjust the tension and unscrewed the smallest screw(thinking I was tightening it) and dropped it on black carpet, need I say more the screw is about the size of a period on a letter and dropped on top of black carpet it is a total lost sooooo i am back at square one which is no production on my project. i am sure i will be contacting you again, so until then thank you for your assistance and have a great day.
What is the spring called that goes behind the tension assembly? My used machine didn’t come with one and I’d like to replace it. I can’t seem to find it when I search because I don’t know the name...
Hi, i buy new one to replace my tension of hi speed sewing machine but i have problem when i put it same as what u demo here in this video mine pop out and the spring is not tight anymore hope u can help me thank u😊
Steve, I have this same problem. I was underneath the machine, adjusting the screw on the knee lift to get it to lift up higher - and all of a sudden the tension knob fell off! But it is as you showed Malcolm's - the inner piece is stuck in the machine, with the spring in it. I can't get it out! I see you just grabbed it with your screwdriver, but mine seems stuck tight and won't come out! Can I put the whole thing back together without removing that part? If not, how do I get it out?! Thanks...
Hi Amy, You have to get that part out of the machine. The slot where the check spring sticks out is a good place to wedge a slotted screw driver in and gently pry it out. If you want to wait until Monday, I can make you a video. Please email me because I do not check UA-cam as often as I do my email. info@sewinggold.com
hi i have a problem with juki ddl8700 when i finish sewing the thread gets stuck in the bobbin or tow strands of thread comes out I have to turn the hand weel to release the thread have you any help in this this matter Angela from uk
Make sure you turn the hand wheel (toward you) until the take up lever is at it's highest position. Then remove your fabric and the extra thread should not be there.
I let my neighbor borrowed my juki last year but when he returned the machine that tension is missing. Is their any reason why it went missing?? Can it just loose it screw?
I have a problem with my DDL-8700, the thread tension disc won't release after pulling-up the presser foot. I tried dismantling it and test it off to the machine and it's working perfectly alright. All the parts in the assembly are complete, but I when I tried ti peek into the inside of the machine, the cam that supposed to push the bigger pin which pushes the smaller pin in turn is not doing its job. Can you help me with this problem?
@@Sewinggold hi OH MY GOODNESS !!! this is a long shot but if you see this comment PLEASE, what do you mean it's not entirely necessary? Do you mean the thread spring?
