I was in college when these terms got popular in the media. In my experience, anyone who uses these terms in the real world unironically could not give a good example of what they were talking about.
Haven’t watched the entire video yet, but there’s an incredible UA-cam channel called the Distributist which has a great (if old) video series called “Magical Words” which really breaks down Left wing rhetoric, it’s origins, and how it’s often used in dishonest ways
While this is a primer, I think you may be doing yourself and the audience a disservice in saying that feminist concepts come from the 70s. The idea of feminist thought - more specifically, women receiving rights without the corresponding responsibilities, making those rights into privileges and excess - goes all the way back to the suffrage movement with the insistence that women universally be granted the vote without any of the requirements placed upon men. And if we want to be even more accurate, the suffrage movement didn't really take off until the writings of Marx and Engels began to circulate. In any consideration of those two, I always place the blame on Engels. Marx was a lazy and bitter jew who was angry at other people - and especially other jews - for being successful, and originally was writing a religious document rather than a political one. It was Engels who convinced Marx to make his writings agnostic if not outright atheistic. Many of the more extreme aspect of Marxist theory were proposed by Engels, including setting the sexes against one another along with pitting the races against each other. In general, you can trace most of what's wrong with the western world back to Marx and Engels, and from them to the Frankfurt School in the 1910-20s and their theories of cultural marxism, and then from there to the US media and academia where their banker relatives bought positions for them. It's definitely possible to go back further, but at that point we're getting into stuff so bizarre it sounds outright made up, like cultist nobles from Eastern Europe traveling southwest with the intent to summon demons with blood sacrifice.
Personally I view "toxic masculinity" as any man using his power (physical and metaphorical) to harm the weak instead of helping them, but I agree with your take too, RJ. Thank you for the video, and have a Triumphant week: God Bless 😇✝️
I think toxic men are a thing. They're a result of single motherhood. Boys never able to grow up because they had no male adult guidance. As such, they take on the negative traits of the feminine. Same is applicable to toxic feminity. They take on the negative aspect of the masculine, because they have no positive masculine force to serve as an example of what men should be.
You have been manipulated, "Toxic" and Masculine together is an oxymoron, NEVER use their language because they will manipulate you whit it because you conceded ground, there is NO SUCH THING as Toxic masculinity.
That's what the Woke WANT you to ASSume... It's also what they'll claim, if you push them on it, and get them to answer it... RJ is right about what they actually MEAN though. Edited... removed a paragraph that mentioned "IF"
Diversity of Thought, Ideas & Opinions IS Important, but they need to be thunneled through the Marketplace of Ideas by means of Reason and Debate in order to weed out the bad ones while allowing the good to thrive The Woke want a superficial diversity while shutting down reason and debate in order to enforce all their ideas, no matter how bad
Ayn Rand wrote of the tyranny of language in Anthem. Rand claimed to be an atheist and was very much against the religion of collectivism--did that make her a feminist or anti-feminist? Dagney Taggart in "Atlas Shrugged" was of the opinion that railroads didn't care about your feelings--railroads worked because of scheduling and engineering and how well the market funded railroads. Someone pointed out to me that "DEI" in ancient Greek means "god." Woke is a cult. Failure to adhere to that orthodoxy is blasphemy and apostacy and the traditional punishments apply beginning with banishment.
Feminism is collectivism. It's also become socialist... feminists need men like fish need bicycles, or so they like to delude themselves, but they still need someone to prop them up... so... "Uncle Sam"... "Big Daddy Government"... Socialism. Ayn Rand also proposed "enlightened self-interest"... which is a fairly conservative (or perhaps moderate) ideal. It's certainly not Progressive. Modern Progressive: "I exist. I demand. Ergo, I DESERVE!"
Loved it! Too many people are questioning what we mean when we say woke these days. This is a succinct list of exactly what woke is and how to identify the double speak. Keep up the good fight. We can’t lose this culture war. We have truth and natural law on our side all they have are subterfuge, manipulation, and intimidation.
What about the "progression" of terms which have evolved to designate the unacceptable? Romanian TVee went over this to some extent in a few of his videos, but I think it's worth mentioning here. As the Overton Window shifted around, the term moved from "offensive" to "problematic" to "toxic" to "dangerous". Each one being a buzzword for something that existed outside the safe boundaries of the ideology.
I've been thinking a bit of the theory of predeterminism, the idea that if there is a god, he's mostly not needed as he's made an autonomous system almost like a clock where everything is working along a predictable and predetermined path. you pretty much can remove god at that point the idea can be pretty complex when you analyse something specific but the results you'd observe aren't new results, they were always going to be like that. when you turn it to observing people the idea changes to the argument for free will and responsibility, if things are predetermined, people aren't responsible since they have no free will, it is the predetermined system that is responsible for how anyone acts would it be a crazy idea that this new extreme left that has gone as far as to put pride flags on the whitehouse are strong believers in some form of predeterminism? white supremacy, toxic masculinity, an obsession with identity and "lived experiences" all seem to focus on how someone is born, the unchangeable characteristics used to assume someone is or will be a certain way. it's not the individuals that matter it's the system they are in, even if the left describes systems that don't exist, is this some theoretical predetermined system that they are referring to?
I'd say "determinism" describes the (far) Left really well. They believe the way you'll behave and think isn't something you can control, and is instead socially or politically (or even biologically) mandated.
"Unalienable rights" is the most important thing for people, U.S. CITIZENS INCLUDED, to understand about this country. It seems like a huge portion of the government doesn't really care about that part, and just thinks it's fine to trample all over our rights whenever they feel like it, because nobody will ever punish them for it. WE THE PEOPLE really need to hold our CIVIL SERVANTS ACCOUNTABLE for their nonsense. They are CIVIL SERVANTS, after all - WE ELECTED THEM, THEY WORK FOR US.
It's truly sad the word empathy, is used in this way as I love the proper combination of logic, reason and genuine empathy though I prefer it in conjunction with mercy or better still the proper definition of charity which is a list of traits in the bible that are rather difficult in conjunction. It makes us well balanced as a society. You lose any of those and it's like pulling a leg out from a three legged table. Also sad about the words lived experience because it used to be something I heard in regards to the elderly, their stories and potential wisdom we should take into account. Even inclusion just used to mean not to bully or exclude a kid from a game or conversation for foolish reasons.
I think mansplaining is actually when a man is trying to explain something to a woman, and the woman thinks she already knows all about it and isn't listening. Of course if you think about it this would only happen in two cases. 1. The woman did something wrong, and the man is trying to help her out by explaining what she did wrong. Of course for feminists it is impossible to be wrong, so they find this highly insulting. 2. The woman did not do something wrong, but the man likes her and is trying to show off his knowledge in the subject to impress her. And while we like to claim women are good at reading people, they are also terribly self-centered and will sometimes not bother to notice that men are interested in them and rather just complain that they are getting information they don't want.
@lingustafsson2629 or 3. a man trying to explain something to a woman in a condescending way ,assuming that women (in their dumb -blonde , pretty dunce ,bimbo-ness ) just can't wrap their "pretty little heads " around certain concepts (that only men can understand )...
23:10 I always suspected that Kendi's argumentation is skew but I didn't know that it's THAT insane. It's outright like demanding not a rapist being punished but his (innocent) relatives being raped were the only remedy for his deeds.
While toxic masculinity is real, what feminists fail to do is make a distinction between passionate and toxic behavior, made worse by the fact that positive male role models are either emasculated or retconned by woke writers. Great video, by the way. 👌
They came after the REAL positive male rolemodels (IRL) LONG before they came after our few remaining, fictional, male rolemodels. They feminized lots of male spaces, by forcing men to accept them... for example, forcing the BOY Scouts to accept girls... and forcing men's athletic teams to allow female reporters in their locker rooms... They ran men/fathers out of the homes, first... and then, mostly, the schools, too. This is almost certainly the reason that they are now so viciously attacking... and replacing and/or subverting... our last few male rolemodels... the ones in pop culture/fiction. They are all that a lot of us have/had. NOTHING creates "toxic masculinity" (actual misogyny) like REAL feminism. Cause. Effect.
I mean... zombies are real. In a sense. Produced by drugs, but real. They even eat flesh. As for space lasers, it's not that far fetched. We do more impressive things with satellites than direct heat from them every day. You can pinpoint your house through a satellite and that service is available to the public. That's incredibly powerful technology yet it's treated as a parlor trick. People have robot limbs and functioning robot eyes. The future is here. Science fiction is now reality. Is the term woke overused? I would say no. Surprisingly. It's used incorrectly sometimes but it *does* communicate useful information. A lot of groups and creeds fall under the umbrella of 'woke'. It's such a vast ideology that it requires a blanket term.
I am so sick of the woke, that watching this rather long video has actually made me even sicker. There's only so much I can take of a completely alien mindset, a mindset that is so destructive, disgusting and yes, even evil. I need a long vacation from the woke.
BTW, lots of these arguments I can easily disprove. This concept that you are only the sum of your experiences is pretty funny. Much of psychological studies indicate this is wildly incorrect. Roughly speaking, half of human behavior at any given age is dictated by genetics.
i can't believe i wasted brain cells on this. you are way overthinking everything. you took a whole 30 minutes to stretch out this list and redefine words that don't mean what you imply they mean. this video borders on parody but there is no punchline
Why didn't you comment on it using your "real" page? Why go to the trouble of creating a brand new persona behind which to hide? You're not a coward, are you? That's a rhetorical question, BTW.
I think you are misconstruing sympathy. It in no ways requires a removal from rational thought and in virtuous application requires it. The fact that Empathy is a new coinage at the very least suggest that it is of the more dubious character or that sympathy is of a broader denotation. From Merriam-Webster What is the difference between sympathy and empathy? Sympathy is a feeling of sincere concern for someone who is experiencing something difficult or painful. Empathy involves actively sharing in the person’s emotional experience. Sympathy has been in use since the 16th century. It comes ultimately from the Greek sympathēs, meaning “having common feelings, sympathetic,” which was formed from syn- (“with, together with”) and páthos, “experience, misfortune, emotion, condition.” Empathy was modeled on sympathy; it was coined in the early 20th century as a translation of the German Einfühlung (“feeling-in” or “feeling into”) See The Empathy Wars | Doug Wilson ua-cam.com/video/rvL7B7hbaXw/v-deo.html
Acting purely emotionally, without rationality, is a very bad thing, but acting entirely without emotion is very bad itself. God gave humans emotion for a reason! Don't undervalue it!
A lot of of the time people request or talk about "empathy" they mean sympathy there are actually two aspects cognitive empathy (mind effectively modeling how another feels) and affective empathy (sympathy essentially) funnily enough autism is essentially reverse psychopathy in that psychopaths often have high cognitive empathy they can know full well how you feel but don't give a shit while those on the autism spectrum possess sympathy with impaired cognitive empathy caring by nature but generally below average in accurately modeling others feelings and in conscientiousness of then. This polarity is further displayed by the contrast in neural pruning the psychopath has excessive neural pruning that makes his brain more like a reptiles while autistic peoples brains prune less than normal making them more human than default neurologically speaking. Given experts refer to autism as the extreme male brain (exaggerated cognitive masculinity) and the data present above psychopathy then is a corresponding overexpression of cognitive femininity. Essentially if 0 is neutral your average man is a 1 and woman -1 a 5 being full autist -5 being full psychopath. Most people are born with a relative balance of the two. This might be a factor in what made the west distinct as there appears to be a substantial correlation between cognitive masculinity and neanderthal genes.

I am so sick of the woke, that watching this rather long video has actually made me even sicker. There's only so much I can take of a completely alien mindset, a mindset that is so destructive, disgusting and yes, even evil. I need a long vacation from the woke.
Rrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee also rrrrrrrrreeeeeeee!!!!
Woke speak means nothing other than "me me"
BTW, lots of these arguments I can easily disprove. This concept that you are only the sum of your experiences is pretty funny. Much of psychological studies indicate this is wildly incorrect. Roughly speaking, half of human behavior at any given age is dictated by genetics.
I'm using the book religions definition of atheism in my previous post because if you use the dictionary terms of atheism everybody is an atheist
If you want to find out exactly how bigoted they are, talk about your lived experience as a straight white male.
DEI means Didn't earn it!
Seriously someone should have trained an LLM to recognize woke speak by now right?
Tolerance in this context can also be defined as gullibility
i can't believe i wasted brain cells on this. you are way overthinking everything. you took a whole 30 minutes to stretch out this list and redefine words that don't mean what you imply they mean. this video borders on parody but there is no punchline
*Do more of these.*
This video is one big straw man and I’m not surprised
Then use reason to refute it.
Why didn't you comment on it using your "real" page? Why go to the trouble of creating a brand new persona behind which to hide?
You're not a coward, are you?
That's a rhetorical question, BTW.
I think you brushed over the anti white basis of all this is centered on. Other than that, great video.
"promo sm"
lol
So are you pro-white or no?
what's wrong with "white"?
are you implying something is inherently wrong with"white"?
I think you are misconstruing sympathy. It in no ways requires a removal from rational thought and in virtuous application requires it.
The fact that Empathy is a new coinage at the very least suggest that it is of the more dubious character or that sympathy is of a broader denotation.
From Merriam-Webster
What is the difference between sympathy and empathy?
Sympathy is a feeling of sincere concern for someone who is experiencing something difficult or painful. Empathy involves actively sharing in the person’s emotional experience. Sympathy has been in use since the 16th century. It comes ultimately from the Greek sympathēs, meaning “having common feelings, sympathetic,” which was formed from syn- (“with, together with”) and páthos, “experience, misfortune, emotion, condition.” Empathy was modeled on sympathy; it was coined in the early 20th century as a translation of the German Einfühlung (“feeling-in” or “feeling into”)

I was about to say this. Sympathy is actually useful in creating sound judgement. Empathy is not. Empathy is merely feeling what they feel.

Based on your avatar, I'd say that you're a 13 years old edgelord who has no intention other than provoke others. If you are any older than that, my condolences
