dont get your hopes up boyz, this is a ubisoft production, it may be free but theres gonna be a hell of a lot of catches
I mean they already canned old gen thats not doing them favors even though they could have likely very easily kept going with it likely a higher up move since old gen wouldn't earn them much likely
The main catch being that it'll be killed off about eight months after full release because it wasn't making infinite amounts of money.
Not to mention that one of their top brass has said that customers should feel "comfortable" not owning their games.
The sad part is that the devs genuinely want their game to succeed and are taking feedback from the community. Just wish their hard work wasn't attached to Ubisoft, of all things.
I mean, it already does have catches.
That double barrel animation is just fantastic
I was thinking the same thing, super satisfying
Over a year later and the game feels exactly the same as it did last playtest
They did add a mild Picture in Picture effect for the scopes though which is cool
The Double-Barrel Shotgun empty reload stands out, it's cool seeing the shell fall in like that. Just a shame all of the other animations are far too derivative, you'd think with the aesthetics and style this game was going for that the animations would be made flashier and unique instead.

@@LeafyLeafeon330But it did popularise this particular fast and shaky style that has become prevalent in many games since. Just because KF2 and that godawful Medal of Honour reboot did mag palming first doesn’t mean they’re to blame for this. This is Modern Warfare (2019)’s fault alone.

why is there a Duracell battery taped to the revolver grip? doesn't look like anything is making contact with the terminals on the top or bottom so it's not charging anything.

The charging handles do fly back sometimes, mostly during full auto I've noticed. Quite visible at 0:26 onwards in Garand Thumb's "MP7A2 vs Gel Blocks" video.

@@joshwist556 Yep, it's just something I've noticed more than once. Considering how beat up the MP7 in the game looks, it's a bit more reasonable the charging handle does that.
This is probably the only realistic detail they got with this game.
considering how rare mp7s are to show up even in specialty firearm auctions in the us, i wouldn't be suprised if garand thumb could only get one in bad condition. there was another guntuber who got one and it was completely incapable of full auto, barely cycled each shot on semi. Seems like the ones that do drip down for sale once in a while are in terrible shape.
The AK safety is on, man. We're still in the 2000s boys
Most sounds feel generic and sometimes dont fit the animation, the animation is good and has some personality to the reloads

I hear you man, even Atomic Heart took the reload sounds from MW 2019 and puked it on their guns.
Don't get me wrong, Atomic Heart is a great game, but really, FPS games need to stop using animations and sfx from MW2019 it's getting repetitive and annoying.
I yearn for smooth reload animations to rise up once more
Fairly odd but somewhat true detail about the MP7’s charging handle. It does move a on rare occasions when firing.

Did they even fix the M4 losing its gasblock when having a sight?
Edit: tried the game, no they still didn't fix it. Worse now the gas tube on both M4 and M16 disappear when using a sight
This looks like the most boiler plate selection of modern firearms I’ve ever seen, nothing unique or exciting, the most interesting thing from this whole selection is that the shotgun has a glow stick taped to it, which is certainly not much to get excited about.
Then you don’t play a lot of indie shooters

I see improvements here by Ubisoft, very MW-ish animations which is positive, i like especially the double barrel shotgun

first thing I noticed was the thumbnail, seeing that EOTech magnifier as an optic of itself tells me of the dev's lack of research when it comes to weapon attachments, I can tolerate the Chinese reflex sight, but this? hell naw

That M60 reload animation is straight up exported from CoD: 4 MW assets, retaining also the original sound effects.

They have to for game balance. Same goes for the AA-12 which has a recoil eliminating mechanic irl as well.

So, is this game set in the apocalypse or something? Because some of these guns look worse for wear, the AA12 being the best example with practically 2/3 of its shell broken off.
They really need to make those sounds a bit more punchy
M4, M16 and ACR same reload animation. I think they need an iconic reload instead of the same ones.

they turned it into a straight blowback with the charging handle welded directly to the bolt lmao. edit: and they cut the rear sight aperture in half for no reason, that's going to make it way more fragile.
For the record the charging handle shooting back is an occurrence that could happen since there is no actual latch or anything on the charging handle, the bolt carrier rides through the channel on the charging handle like an AR so any excess back pressure can make it reciprocate. This is also a somewhat uncommon occurrence with ARs if the latch on the charging handle is worn down or not making contact with the channel that the latch grabs onto on the upper receiver.
btw you also can see the charging handle not move in most instances of the firing animation so it is correct
these animations are decent, but there's barely any hand movement. then we get to the audio: the gunshots are weak, and the reloads sound like they were ripped directly from CS:GO.

That 1911 animation looks a mix of battlefield 3 and mw19 M1911 relaod, ✨

All the detail that went into the animations looking good and they somehow forgot the hammer isn't supposed to be down.
To be fair though what are we expecting from a ubisoft hero shooter trying to take the spotlight from call of duty shooting itself repeatedly in the foot
I'm willing to bet that the clean versions of the guns like the AK and SVD would be left as overpriced mtx.
Ok animations and decent sound design. But those screen shakes way to unnecessary. It hurts my eyes

The 686 Magnum has some of the worst sound design I’ve heard in recent memory.
I'm not gonna play this game cause I hate Ubisoft but credit where it's due the animations are pretty good the animation team did a great job. Hope they don't get laid off when this game bombs.
Hate that ak without dust cover and m4 with 720rpm. M4's rof should be 800rpm or above

The models look fine, but goddamn, these are some stiff and lifeless animations. The Desert Eagle is also depicted here as being double action only, when the gun is single action only in reality.

Not the best animations, R6 Siege animations are better. But if there is something to rework in top priority, it's the smoke. Those guns release more smoke than coal factories from the 19th century!
