In this video, i'm showing you the simple way to drill perfectly centred hole in any bolt/rod without lathe. I hope you'll like it.

I don’t get it, what’s the bearing doing. The hole isn’t even in the middle
Yeah you can forget all the bearing nonsense and just chuck up the workpiece bolt with a nut on the end so you can clamp onto it with the vice and line it up perfectly below your drill press. Then clamp your vice in place, remove the nut from the bolt and lock a drill bit in the vice. The spinning workpiece ensures the hole is dead center and everything is lined up straight on so you don't drill at a weird angle. Also, peck drilling will help a lot in these cases. Finally, water is a terrible lubricant for metal drilling. Just use some 3 in 1 oil if you have nothing else. It's cheap as dirt. Hell, even olive oil would be better than water.

Not true , water is a very good lubricant with some soap....

I don't understand the bearing
Files are very brittle, so they easily break on impact. They are the last tool in my tool box I'd use to strike something like a hammer.

@@wags9777 there are hazards associated with using a file as a hammer. When somebody elects to make a UA-cam video to teach others, they carry a moral responsibility to try not to put viewers in danger. The above comment isn't for the author but as a warning to viewers that might be tempted to do the same thing.

This movie is a deep joke.This guy ignore all of mechanical's rules. To make a perfectly centered hole there are easier means... And perfect, centered at 1/100e of millimeter.I can make a hole of 1.5mm in a bolt of 2 mm diameter, this makes a tiny tube ! Not a hole of 4 mm in a bolt of 10 mm !

When you have a drill press simply fix the bolt on vase and push the drill down on need to this game
