This was an Art Van furniture before it was Loves. when Art Van went bankrupt and closed their stores, Love’s bought a bunch of their stores and then themselves went bankrupt after that
The one buy my place is value city furniture in the old art van.

I love all those windows above the entrance to the store. Pretty big building. Nice job filming this place.
Used to Art Van I worked at the Wearhouse 14 mile Warren Michigan 30 years lost my job because of the Covid
Man, he had travel all over the States.
Walllie, Loves Furniture was started by former Art Van executives who had no idea how too run a company. Customers constantly complained about orders going too the wrong locations. Everything from distribution centers too wrong stores, sometime the wrong state altogether! They were in trouble almost right away as they were very poorly run. Even people had problems during the going out of business sales. Over by me there is some still abandoned places a couple hours south and west of Port Huron. Including a family video a little over 20 minute drive in Ionia. Former Kmarts reused, a couple former Chevy dealerships repurposed and some buildings tottally empty. Also a Burger King that suddenly closed a few months ago after franchise owner went bankrupt. Abandoned Sears and Yonkers in the same mall. One building recently renovated, still empty as far as i know, sad as very busy area and more. Including a Toys R Us. Even a spot that used too be a gas station, building and single pump long gone but where building sat is still there. Abandoned train bridge, grocery store that closed....all near me.
Loves used to be Art Van furniture, Art van went bankrupt and the leadership started loves and didn't change anything about the structure of the company. Loves didnt even last a year before going bankrupt
I figured you would explore this after the super k, which is very unique for sure, and I can't resist ringing the bell as well, lol.
the kmart near me in muncie indiana closed 8 years ago almost 9 years now!

When the bell ring that was the greatest thing ever.
I still have a piece of furniture I got from this place when it was still an Art Van, and I spent almost 8 hours in the store...don't ask. I also got a couch that was very comfortable, but we had to get rid of it earlier this year.
And yes, Port Huron can be a bit dodgy. Come to Fort Gratiot and film the abandoned Dick's Sporting Goods near Meijer.

Good video! Quite an interesting place, specially with all those windows in the front of the store! That would have been something if somebody came out the door when you rang that bell!
Thank you for another enjoyable and amazing video. We had a Love's furniture store about an hour from where I live. It went into a building that used to house Pier 1 Imports. Sad that it is another building sitting empty.

It was ArtVan Furniture originally, Loves Furniture was started by former ArtVan executives who were just as clueless. Severely mismanaged with orders going to the wrong distribution centers and even the wrong stores outright. First suppliers stopped sending products as payments were never made and finally the company had to shut down. It was basically the same as ArtVan's final closing reasons, basically. Also ArtVan they were commission sales based and people stated they were hounded the second they walked in the doors.
@@KC8EWU that is big business for you The greedy people who think they know about business but it is an interesting thing that All they' want is the money and everything else is a waste of time basically they don't care how to make the money for just as long it's coming in
What a shame, looks like a decent building still and with the closed K-Mart, that whole area seems abandoned. I still think the locations aren't checked out good enough before sinking money into an area that may have too much competition. Idk, just trying to figure out why nature is put into concrete then left. Thanks, Wallie.
