I think in those chords your voice stands out the most. That chest-fry is powerful and you can hear that over any other voice.
I have to admit that when I first saw this come up on UA-cam, I was expecting 5 bass voices to be monotone and bland, but imagine my surprise to realize that I was sadly mistaken, as you 5 clearly have very unique tones, that make the harmonies just as interesting as with an a capella group with singers in different ranges. The arrangement and the performance is on par with the best a capella groups out there. 👏👍🏻🥇

Absolutely beautiful. Who knew all bass could sound so good. :) Elliott has such a rich, caramel voice. Feels like it just wraps around you and gives you a comforting hug.

One thing that really struck me when I was watching was just how much Marwan's voice has developed over the last year. I admit his voice was never my favorite of the group because, as deep as it could go, it still sounded young, which wasn't as pleasant to my ear. That said, I loved how he sounded in this video! Still young, but definitely more mature than it was last year, and I can't wait to hear how it develops in the future.
Peter, this is so fantastic. I don't know if I enjoyed it as much as you, but I sure enjoyed the heck out of it. I absolutely ❤️ this version, and will be putting it on my favorites list as soon as possible. It was a great collaboration with Elliott, and I hope you can do another one in the future. I gotta admit, I was waiting for Tomi to take that octave slide even higher, I know he has it. Thank you for opening my world to the rest of the basses of the world. I knew about Avi Kaplan, and Geoff Castellucci, Tim Foust... Then The Bass Gang... And now I'm introduced to Elliott Robinson... bruh. I sang Bass II in HS, Avi alone made me say "nope... I'm a baritone at best!" Even I'm like "holy crap the bassiness has bassiness!"
I love that you guys are not limiting yourselves to only strict acapella when it serves the music to do something different. The drums added a fantastic atmosphere to this! No one in their right mind would not be in awe of this piece just because it is not purely acapella. Keep experimenting and thinking outside the box, we are here for it! ❤

Mentioned several times that Elliott is a "legend" and been around a long time. Just shook loose an old memory...am I correct in recalling him the bass in the legendary Nylons group out of Canada? Have those CDs buried somewhere and will dig out, and fortunate to have seen them in concert several times...miss them. Their live version of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" may well be the best I've seen! Thanks for the memory!

I see the resemblance but I believe you're thinking of Arnold Robinson, bass singer with The Nylons 1981-2006. I **worshipped** The Nylons back in the day 🙏🏻🖖🏻🙇🏻 - When I finally bought 1 of their albums & saw a group photo I was astonished that that toe-curling bass came out of this skinny li'l string bean of a fella.... 🤓

Thanks for setting me straight. Had I taken the time to do a little research, could've gotten that...and sadly found Arnold had passed away in 2013 (as apparently have all but one original member, Claude Morrison). But there truly is a resemblance, and the same last name and silky legit bass! What was neat was the Nylons made a cappella cool before it became cool again...lucky to have been around then!

One thing I didn’t hear you comment on was the looooong sustained high notes at the end. I had listened to this song dozens of times, always focused on the bass, then a couple days ago I paid attention to that high voice in the background at the end and it gave me chills listening to that beautiful voice along with the bass.
