Thank you so much for doing this reaction brother ❤❤ I had so much fun watching this (for like the 3rd time 🥴😂), and just seeing the smile on your face throughout the entire video is the most precious thing ever ❤
The Beast from the Middle East, the Prince of Egypt, the acapella prodigy -- Marwan is finally back for his latest, most creative solo project of all time!
I've listened to this multiple times a day for the last 3+ days, and it finally clicked with me why he decided to do 30 styles -- this is the movie's 30th anniversary (please excuse me while I have a "feeling old" moment). I checked, and I see you've not done a reaction/analysis of The Hu -- they're a Mongolian band that uses traditional Mongolian-style Overtone singing, which is what I think Marwan was doing,
The Hu are Mongolian throat singers, where you drive the sound from false folds then shape it with the rest of the vocal tract; you can also drive both the true folds for tone and the false folds for vibration. Adam Chance did a similar technique in Home Free's Man of Constant Sorry, but without words.
The Hu are so freaking talented. In addition to the throat singing they play traditional Mongolian instruments in a folk/metal fusion. I saw them live and it was amazing
So glad you also picked up on how appropriate the lyrics are to the artists in each section. Also great that you were able to identify so many if the original songs used. But you really need to watch The Nightmare before Christmas.
Marwan is so incredibly talented! Not just being able to sing in 30 styles (and sing WELL in 30 styles) but all the time and effort it took just to arrange this - to choose which style for which lyrics. Amazing, amazing job. And he got some pretty good guests to help out, too.
What I took away from this: May the Bass Be With You Vol. 4: Boy Bands 😂 Seriously, though, Peter, this was a great analysis. Thank you for pointing out things I had not heard yet and emphasizing the immense effort Marwan put into this project.
The text is absolutely affecting his choice of artist. "Everybody" is the lyric that must have inspired Backstreet. And "I am the who when you call 'Who's There?'' inspired The Hu. Etc. It's absolutely magnificent.
Polyphonic overtones. Thats why the Hu sounds so unique. Mongolian throat singing uses this technique a lot, as well as several other indigenous people through history. Worth looking into, it's amazing!
This was such an incredible arrangement! I had no idea that The Bass Gang section was Copy Cat until you pointed it out! Now that I remember, those were the same shirts you all wore in the Copy Cat video! That was very clever of Marwan! P.S. Your reaction to seeing Peter Hollens was my EXACT same reaction, lol
As it turns out, the name "Marwan Ayman" translates to "Beast Mode" in my home country. ...not really, but holy crap! The level of detail is mind-boggling! Marwan killed it!
I mean this in the best, respectful way. This song/arrangement is the epitome of "And now for something completely different" from Monty Python's Flying Circus. But genuinely, Marwan's talent is out of this world. Thank you for sharing, Peter.
I didn't make it for the premiere after all :( But gosh, it's so crazily good and funny! Gaining a lot of appreciation for Marwan's talent and creativity too.
Astounding! Marwan absolutely redefines the concept of creativity. What a treat! Thank you for this analysis, Peter. Your appreciation, care and respect for him also shine. Bless up! Mahalo from Kauai.
I was at the watch party that he hosted at his discord server. He told us that there were a total of 559 tracks in his session. You can see why it’s his craziest arrangement. It’s so crazy that he had to put them in folders. We breezed through them in like 50 minutes.
Good morning, Peter! The editor's notes f'ing slayed in this one! I love that you addressed Marwan directly, so often, Peter. I could tell when I first watched Marwan's This Is Halloween, that it was such a love letter to people in his life. I'm glad you did such an in depth analysis of this one. I needed help nerding out over it!! Cheers 🩵✌️
I feel really blessed to have watched Marwan over the last couple years. It was obvious from the get that he has extraordinary talent but so, so fun to watch him develop his gift. I can’t wait to see where he takes us from here. I’m also really excited to see all the ways you’re branching out. I’m hoping I will someday get to see you do live opera, but in the meanwhile the videos you’re talking about just sound wonderful. And I loved this reaction/analysis. PS: If you haven’t checked out Vitas and The Hu, you really should, just for kicks and giggles.
Bro I just started looking into the Hu yesterday. Marwan's section for them just slaps too hard, I had to check them out. So I did. And I like it. But omg it was the most genre defying stuff 😆🩵
Peter Hollens did an Ed Sheeran cover in multiple song genres as well as doing a couple of videos with impressionist Brian Hull where they had a singing improv contest singing various Disney songs in other genres.
I love this! It is so brilliantly, amazingly, delightfully schizophrenic in all the best ways...i've listened to it about 100 times in the past 2 days..fantastic! And your reaction cracked me up :) PETER! WATCH THE MOVIE!!!!!
Marwan did such an amazing job with this arrangement, it blows my mind everytime I watch it. He never fails to impress me with his creativity, talent, and arrangements. He just is so good at what he does and I hope that this will go viral because he deserves it so much. Thank you for the amazing R&A Peter, you are great!❤
It is so easy to just sit, listen and not appreciate all the work it takes to make it right. The reactors who know music and can talk about all the different things happening are the best. You are one of the best. Thank you!
I'd love to see the Bass Gang tackle a good medley arrangement. Backstreet Boys would kill in that format. It will be a lot of fun to see how you guys go nuts on the range of their tracks and add some epic bass lines.
He did an awesome job on this. My first viewing was with Jen G., and she was catching all of the background stuff, so at 13 or 14, she was like: OMG this is gonna take forever. Great reaction and analysis. He really did capture enough of fhe backings to emulate the song and genre
Wonderful reaction to an outstanding song by an extremely gifted artist! Just goes to show you how talented he is when you are amazed at what he has done with this song even though you've worked with him for around three years now. Can't wait for more performances from all of you, solo and together in The Bass Gang!
The SANS section was referencing the INSANELY popular video game UNDERTALE which is known, among other things, for its awesome soundtrack which you hear in the back ground.
I somehow missed this whole video and your reaction so here I am. 100% thrilled you did the opera line. I actually thought of you when I first saw it. May 2024 be everything you want good sir! Thank you for inspiring me to do amateur versions of these videos.
Fun reaction! Jennifer Glatzhofer didn't know about Mongolian throat-singing either (admittedly I only know about it because of the Hu). Well done for figuring out what was going on physically anyway.
weirdly there was a series of fantasy books where the Author must be a fan as she has one of her character learnt to do the throat singing to preform for his partner as a gift :) its actually how i first came across them :)
This song(s?) is absolutely amazing, big up to Marwan for this seamless arrangement and execution of this. Some of my favorite moments in the video 6:05 made me laugh out loud 😂 14:11 your face was priceless lmao (also I think that distorted straight vocals, as far as I’m concerned it doesn’t have the direct timbre of throat bass) 17:22 I HAD THE SAME REACTION BRO 22:30 dude Dude That’s actually wild
Absolutely brilliant and I'm still recovering from the musical whiplash I got from listening! So happy I found you guys thanks to your collaboration with Tim Foust.
I was impressed with his song.. i wish he either did a longer song or less styles... because i enjoyed the details in all the styles... but i wished for longer
Marwan's vid from what I've seen has resulted in multiple Reaactorgasms, will it result in a multiple Petergasms, I suspect it will. Edit: 15: Is Mongolian Throat Singing or at least an acknowledgement towards.
Honestly How TF are there No Judas Priest Reactions. Rob Halford was a Trained Opera Singer. Victim of Changes, Ram It Down, Dessert Plains etc Cmon man
Yes Eminem is one of best lyrical artists to come out in the latest generation And i might be misremembering but isn't Dont worry be happy an acapella arrangement originally?
Thank you so much for doing this reaction brother ❤❤
I had so much fun watching this (for like the 3rd time 🥴😂), and just seeing the smile on your face throughout the entire video is the most precious thing ever ❤
he is like a proud father i think most of us are like proud fathers and mothers. even though we don't really know you that well
You’re Egyptian? Neat.
The Beast from the Middle East, the Prince of Egypt, the acapella prodigy -- Marwan is finally back for his latest, most creative solo project of all time!
All those descriptions of him BARELY scratch the surface of his talent.
Yup when it comes to a Capella he is a sick puppy... especially because apart of being great in his vocals he is doubly talented as arranger.
Been looking forward to this reaction!
I've listened to this multiple times a day for the last 3+ days, and it finally clicked with me why he decided to do 30 styles -- this is the movie's 30th anniversary (please excuse me while I have a "feeling old" moment). I checked, and I see you've not done a reaction/analysis of The Hu -- they're a Mongolian band that uses traditional Mongolian-style Overtone singing, which is what I think Marwan was doing,
"Marwan are you insane?!"
Yes, yes he is. And we are forever grateful!
ayyy man
ayyyyyy man

I was going to say, that section *had* to be The Hu! Glad someone else knew them!
If you couldn't tell, I wasn't actually watching, just listening, lol.
The Hu are amazing.
The Hu are so freaking talented. In addition to the throat singing they play traditional Mongolian instruments in a folk/metal fusion. I saw them live and it was amazing
“Bass Gang, when are we doing Backstreet Boys??”
I would LOVE an album of just nostalgic song arrangements from the 90’s and early 2000’s.
9:12 The Editor Note😂😂😂❤
LOL😂😂
So glad you also picked up on how appropriate the lyrics are to the artists in each section. Also great that you were able to identify so many if the original songs used. But you really need to watch The Nightmare before Christmas.

I second the nomination for Boy Bands. I would LOVE to see these boys tackle some New Edition and Boyz II Men!
The look of pure Shock and excitement on your face when you saw that he dropped that BG nod brought me so much joy!
The text is absolutely affecting his choice of artist. "Everybody" is the lyric that must have inspired Backstreet. And "I am the who when you call 'Who's There?'' inspired The Hu. Etc. It's absolutely magnificent.
😂😂😂😂 I sang Fly Me To The Moon also....lol
Polyphonic overtones. Thats why the Hu sounds so unique. Mongolian throat singing uses this technique a lot, as well as several other indigenous people through history. Worth looking into, it's amazing!

Just want to take a second to appreciate the comedic genius of The Hu singing "I am the who"
9:12 "Well that was loud!😂" Super nice Video. I realy like your brakedowns a lot.
When he did the hu, that was throat singing. Specifically, he was doing something called Mongolian throat singing
🩵💙🩵💙 The Hu is a Mongolian throat singing group!! Would love a Boy Band collection from Bass Gang!!😍😍😍
In "The Hu" style he's using a technique called Tuvan throat singing.
I didn't make it for the premiere after all :( But gosh, it's so crazily good and funny! Gaining a lot of appreciation for Marwan's talent and creativity too.
Hi Peter, this is from the exact same movie that you didn't recognize in Mortius and Geoff's covers. Marwan did an absolutely amazing job with this.
Astounding! Marwan absolutely redefines the concept of creativity. What a treat! Thank you for this analysis, Peter. Your appreciation, care and respect for him also shine. Bless up! Mahalo from Kauai.

Jeeeeeesus 559? that's so incredible 🤯👏

Marwan is so impressive, and the crazy thing is, hes gonna keep getting better and better 😂💜
Marwan had to put in so much work to learn all these editing styles. It's amazing.
Thank you for the R&A Peter. It was so fun to watch.

The Hu is a group that does Mongolian Throat singing. You need to listen to them. They are interesting. Great analysis, as usual, Peter. Thanks!
The hu one was throat singing in a higher tone it's Mongol/Tuvan throat singing called Kharkhiraa or in Tuvan Kargyraa
It is so easy to just sit, listen and not appreciate all the work it takes to make it right. The reactors who know music and can talk about all the different things happening are the best. You are one of the best. Thank you!
I belly laughed at “haunted hayride country” amazing!
Wow, that was crazy! Marwan´s a genius!
Thanks Mason, I just got good headphones!
I'd love to see the Bass Gang tackle a good medley arrangement. Backstreet Boys would kill in that format. It will be a lot of fun to see how you guys go nuts on the range of their tracks and add some epic bass lines.
Or Linkin Park. Y'all would kill some Chester vocals.
oh this will be FUN!!
Peter - I think at 14:38 Marwan is doing throat bass. I’ve fooled around with it and I think that sound is closest to it.
He did an awesome job on this. My first viewing was with Jen G., and she was catching all of the background stuff, so at 13 or 14, she was like: OMG this is gonna take forever. Great reaction and analysis. He really did capture enough of fhe backings to emulate the song and genre

Loved this! Marwan is insanely talented!
The SANS section was referencing the INSANELY popular video game UNDERTALE which is known, among other things, for its awesome soundtrack which you hear in the back ground.
Loved this. So much talent!
I somehow missed this whole video and your reaction so here I am. 100% thrilled you did the opera line. I actually thought of you when I first saw it.
May 2024 be everything you want good sir! Thank you for inspiring me to do amateur versions of these videos.
I would have thought Marwan would have asked you to help do the opera one
Super fun reaction! Loved the Bass Gang cameo and Copycat reference!! Such an amazing work of creativity from Marwan!
The mongolian throat singing thrown in there at #15 took the cake for me
It's like 3 different techniques combined into one
We do appreciate the phenomenal effort Marwan put into this.
Marwan is amazing
This arrangement is a ride from start to end, and Marwan did an incredible job!
I don't know that Base Gang have a 'style' so much as a Richter Rating. But we recognise it when we feel it.
This song(s?) is absolutely amazing, big up to Marwan for this seamless arrangement and execution of this.
Some of my favorite moments in the video
6:05 made me laugh out loud 😂
14:11 your face was priceless lmao (also I think that distorted straight vocals, as far as I’m concerned it doesn’t have the direct timbre of throat bass)
17:22 I HAD THE SAME REACTION BRO
22:30 dude
Dude
That’s actually wild
I'd request that you go and do a reaction to the Hu. This is Mongolian throat singing which is pretty wild!
He slays
Absolutely brilliant and I'm still recovering from the musical whiplash I got from listening! So happy I found you guys thanks to your collaboration with Tim Foust.
I really had a ton of fun with Marwan's video! 😁
OMGOODNESS…..hahahaha!!! This is greatness!!!
The Hu is Mongolian throat singing and I lost my whole shit when I heard Marwan do it ^^'
Here we go!
Привет, Питер! Любим Марванчика!😘😘😘😄💋❤🧡💖👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
The Hu are a Mongolian metal band known for throat singing.
This song goes from one music style to another faster than a top fuel dragster can have the engine rebuilt with the crew at the top of their game.
I was impressed with his song.. i wish he either did a longer song or less styles... because i enjoyed the details in all the styles... but i wished for longer
Vitas and Sans are both amazing. You should check them out to get the pop culture references, Marwan snuck into the piece.😂😊 Amazing job.
RUN IT UP
The Hu is known for their Mongolian throat singing ;)
I would love to hear a whole version of this in Frank Sinatra's style. That had such a rich sound.
You simp for Marwan! I simp for Marwan! We all simp for Marwan!
14:35 Tuvan Throat Singing I think.
You don't know the Hu? Start with Wolf Totem. They are a Mongolian rock band . They are both unique and talented.
I don’t know, Peter - I think Marwan’s country accent might have you beat! 😂 Great reaction!!
Please listen to Marcus King singing Wildflowers and Wine live in Carter Vintage Guitars if you never heard about him. That's stunning, trust me.
Hello Peter! Thanks for the awesome reactions. Please will you do Within Temptation - Angels?
Marwan's vid from what I've seen has resulted in multiple Reaactorgasms, will it result in a multiple Petergasms, I suspect it will.
Edit: 15: Is Mongolian Throat Singing or at least an acknowledgement towards.
First time watching how you doing gaston
Boy band Bass Gang! Yes Please!
It's just me waiting for your reaction to faouzia
Honestly How TF are there No Judas Priest Reactions. Rob Halford was a Trained Opera Singer. Victim of Changes, Ram It Down, Dessert Plains etc Cmon man
I Just Released Something:
THERE'S ACTUALLY...
TWO PETERS IN ONE VIDEO💀 INSANE!!
Technically, it's three Peters: Two Peter Barbers and one Peter Hollens. And a whole load of Marwans, of course.
How the hell do you do this The Hu voice? That's insane
(I wanna learn how)
❤
❤😂❤
Where can we hear you sing?
I saw a stank face on the reaction
The hu do Mongolian throat singing so.....
Yes Eminem is one of best lyrical artists to come out in the latest generation
And i might be misremembering but isn't Dont worry be happy an acapella arrangement originally?
❤
