an update, i finally found better than this Benelli TRK 502X which is for my taste too heavy for an Adventure motorcycle, 235 kg for 48 hp is not adapted for Off-road solo riding, my choice went for the Hunter Maverick 500, a parallel Twin as well 471cc developping 49hp and only 196 kg more adapted for aventure On and Off-road, here is the link to the Review ua-cam.com/video/pyDcwL-ohRQ/v-deo.html
Great review videos both test ride & this one. Thank you. I have had TRK502X since April 2019, I'm 5'11"(1.8m), 203lbs (92kg) & 60yrs & have no problems getting on/off or moving bike. The riding position is excellent & very comfortable. With pillion & luggage it is a bit underpowered but adjust your riding to suit & this is very rare situation any way. The centre stand operation is annoying but you get use to where to put feet without any alteration. I have put on an extended Givi screen. This is still fixed but provides even better wind protection for road riding which is the majority of miles these bikes will do. I didn't want a bike with all fancy electronics & settings which I would never use but still have to pay for & could go wrong. Brand new bike for £5500 on the road including registration, tax & tank full of fuel. Need I say more.
You are spot on when it comes to the dislikes. I did a 900km single day trip on this in about 17 hrs. It was a breeze, riding comfort and tank range are exceptional. But what I did find a bit odd was the fuel tank contours, which prevented easy saddling.
You can also hang on little things. The machine is absolutely suitable for everyday use and a super reliable motorcycle when traveling. I have the TRK 502 and drove over 14,000 km with it in the first year. You can't get anything comparable on the market for the price. Super equipment, very comfortable and once you get used to the motorcycle it drives like any other, despite the 235kg empty weight. ;)
I have the non x! The non x is actually 213kg, the x has extra long travel, center stand, steel wheels (19in), longer exhaust and bigger back box adding the weight up to 235kg. The non x is 213kg with hand gaurds, rear rack, engine gaurds and 90% of a full 20 liter tank! If you take all that away and a small more normal sized tank it would probably be around the 196 - 200kg mark. The bike is bloody awesome and i love it!
I ride my third Hunter Maverick 500cc, 192kg with 20 liter tank, 19 front wheel, 48hp, and I can go off-road with it without worry, the Benelli TRK 502x is a very good looking bike, but way too heavy
The TRK is fully equipped for adventure but too heavy for me 235kg is way too much, the Honda is perfect in weight but has no equipment, crashbar, skidplate, usb charger, central stand, nothing. I finally chose the Maverick 500cc, same engine as the CB500X but all equipped and even lighter than the Honda.

@Atrip111 just watch for the rust on the frame, the engine should have no problem, but do a gentle break-in of the engine, and change the oil regularly, Benelli have the worst percentage of shredded pieces of metal in their engine, so good quality oil and regular change of it should do the trick, I know some French vlogger who rode for 50.000 kms without any issue.
There have been several comments on the GPS vs speedo difference. I honestly think people are over thinking it. This bike was first produced as the TRK 502, which was road based and as such had a 17" front wheel. The 502X comes with a 19" which rolls (get this) about 10% slower which gives you your roughly 15 kph difference at higher speeds. The factory never made the adjustment.

The sound of the Benelli is due to the 360 degree camshaft angle, this give one extra power stroke every 760 degrees. Hence the almost 3 cylinder sound.

You should definitely try it, but i think the TRK 502 standard may be better for you as lower with a 17 front wheel instead of the 19 inch of the TRK 502 X, remember it's a pretty heavy bike, 235 kg i was happy to be 180cn and 92 kilos to handle it off-road
i had a ride on this bike, she’s very big and heavy while she’s only 500 cc. the result is very weak bike. im sure i'll love it if she had much bigger engine
I am sorry to tell you that those accessories that the bike comes with are not part of the engineering team but the bone headed owners of the dealer shop in order to inflate the price of the bike ... And some poor guy is ordered to hack into the electrical system to put them where they are. You are the boss, order the bike bare so you can put your own accessories.
Stability problems are a result of your choice of tires ... We can see that they are not dual-use and probably an off brand... try some Pirellis or Michelins, that'swhat it was designed with.

My understanding is the weight was misprinted by benelli at 235kilo.the actual weight is 213kilo wet which means with a full tank of fuel..this is not unreasonable for a bike of this size but would be better with soft panniers rather than panniers
My understanding and feeling after riding it off-road is that she is way too heavy and really at 235 kg wet, and have a nasty tendency to stall at low rpm. Going off-road with 30kg of luggages on it would be suicidal, soft or hard panniers on it 😜. When I rode the Hunter Maverick 500cc, it was just obvious that it was a better choice, the feeling riding it was lighter and way more reassuring, you should check it out, adventure touring motorcycles should stay under the 200kg wet mark
That 213kg is the dry weight and the wet weight(full tank+oil+all stuff) is around 235kg. If it's a GS then 235kg is reasonable. Edit: this bike should be in midleweight(500cc) category, but the weight it self says the opposide 😂
That's the reason I chose the Hunter Maverick 500cc, it's 40 kg lighter for the same power, and with a lower seat, to have both feet perfectly touching ground. The Benelli Trk502x is way too heavy even for my 180cm and 85kg
I gave thumb up albeit I think the review should be done after 10000 km. Another flaw-I think metal side bars are too broad, how Benny fits the traffic, between cars?
The metal side crash bars fits perfectly the rear panniers, and help to lift it when falling on the side to avoid to have a flat bike on the ground, at 235kg of weight if the bike is flat it will be a nightmare to lift it back, i do agree it need more time to have a proper idea of how a bike really is, but well it was a start, I've just post the review of my Versys X Tourer after 16,000 km yesterday 😜
After riding both bikes I have found the Suzuki V-Strom 650 is superior in every way and the Suzuki hasn’t tried to copy any other brand like Benelli has...cough..Ducati..cough..BMW..!!!
I'm not surprised, but the V-strom is not available anymore here in Indonesia, we had a couple of V-strom back from 2015 but Suzuki is quite dead in over 250cc bikes in our market, i like the design of the Benelli Trk502x and i don't mind copies, look at what i chose finally lol, the Hunter Maverick 500cc, a copy of everything but way lighter, 196kg wet weight 😜
It was the point, this bike doesn't have too much flaws, more than 2 is several in my book, it should be the same in yours 😛🤣, i like that bike overall
GPS is accurate as it's comming from the satellite, motorcycles don't work on GPS they work from the speed of the engine or speedo gage that's common sense and you got your foot on the main stand there was No difficulty there No problem, petrol cap is better that way put it on your seat your a fault finder there is nothing wrong with the build if you don't like it you should have not bought it!
I didn't bought it, it is wayyyyy too heavy for my taste, and no other bikes are more accurate on their speed, 15km/h difference is just ridiculous, the gas cap is just cheap economy, the central stand and general quality finishing is not well thought, Chinese bike are getting better and better, the new model is made better, but the weight is still too much unfortunately
I had this bike for 8 months.. I sold her and I bought kawasaki versys 650.. The biggest mistake of this bike is the weight.. You feel it specially at the corners.. The plastics the buttons the brake pads and overall the construction build is cheap.. The power with this weight is not enough for long trips with 3 cases and your woman.. Only if you ride with speed 100-120..Not more.. The good part.. Very beautiful.. Comfort seat.. Many extras standard with the bike.. Price is normal.. Not cheap not expensive.. The sound is very nice. Difficult resale in good price.. Its not a bad bike but in my opinion is better to invest a little bit more money to buy a Japanese bike or to wait for the trk 800 who I think that they will build a very good maschine in very good price.
Interesting choice the Versys 650, but no more Off-road then, I'm still considering the Versys, but i will have to upgrade it to spoke wheels and at least a 19 inch front, crash bars, racks for luggages, lack of top speed in Indonesia is not a problem as we never really pass 100 km/h, the Benelli seduce me on its capacity of loading luggages and Off-road ready, also cheaper (10,545 € TRK 502 X) than a Versys 650 (11,764 € on the road Bali)
@@Buledoyanmotor i don't think so that the trk x is so capable for difficult of road but for sure better from the versys. . Also if you puss the bike because of the cheap quality she will not respond for many years.. This is just my opinion.. If you want a really good on off bike choose the tenere 700..
@@vageliskoios1062 would love the Tenere 700, unfortunately not available in Indonesia, we have only the Versys 650, Honda CB 500X, Benelli TRK 502 X, then it jump to Triumph Tiger 800 for 30,000 € or the BMW F 850 GS 41,000 € thanks to the luxury tax over 250cc, the prices are going crazy very quickly here
@@Buledoyanmotor if you want a bit of road you can do it with the versys as well... Just with different tyres.. Or with the cb 500 x.. Much more lighter, better build quality and Honda... Also if you want to resale the bike you will sell it fast in good price.. If you choose the trk and you want to resale it you will loose a lot of money.. If you like the cb on how it looks just buy the cb.. The trk is a good try to build a cheap good bike but they must improve it. I think the trk 800 will be a very good bike.. Maybe I will buy it..

Memang si T700 masuk pasar Indonesia?
Mister. Pulau Bali masih aman ya dari korona? Soalnya Senin rencana mau ke bali, hehe
lol 🤣

@@aimancingcing8696 sure it will fit you, you should watch the long review i made of it, were i take it Off-road
@@Buledoyanmotor yup i'm watching now😅
The sound of the Benelli is due to the 360 degree camshaft angle, this give one extra power stroke every 760 degrees. Hence the almost 3 cylinder sound.
True, and maybe the reason it stall so easily off-road lol 😜

How about compare Versys 250 with TRK 251 Sir?
I did a review of the trk 251 but in my opinion Versys win

Saya takut kecewa sama SM RX3S, the Chinese Zongshen RX3S, with only 36 HP for 185 kilos, seperti Kawasaki Versys gue dong 😜
Tergantung anda perlu apa ?

My height is 168cm! Izzit suitable?
You should definitely try it, but i think the TRK 502 standard may be better for you as lower with a 17 front wheel instead of the 19 inch of the TRK 502 X, remember it's a pretty heavy bike, 235 kg i was happy to be 180cn and 92 kilos to handle it off-road
honestly only thw weight point is valid.
And that is the biggest problem of that motorcycle
The "dislikes" are very nit-picking. That's a good thing.
The bike is good, but an honest review has to be honestly picky
Trk502x should use tubeless rim
In another life, my Hunter Maverick 500cc is tubeless spoked wheel 😁
i had a ride on this bike, she’s very big and heavy while she’s only 500 cc. the result is very weak bike. im sure i'll love it if she had much bigger engine
The 800cc is out
Are you French ? Hi 👋🏽 from Perth
Yes i am, are you ? 😝
I'm sorry but this is incorrect
Good review
Thanks

Tubeless. Tires. !!!???
Yes like the BMW F 850 GS or the KTM 790 way more practical
The tyres are not tubelles on X model.. I think are tubelles on street model..
@@vageliskoios1062 they are tubeless on the X model
At which country? In Europe are not tubeles..i had this bike for 8 months
@@vageliskoios1062 Indonesia with Metzeler Tourance Tubeless, here is the proof on the Off-road video ua-cam.com/video/PqgMkmzShnM/v-deo.html
Stability problems are a result of your choice of tires ... We can see that they are not dual-use and probably an off brand... try some Pirellis or Michelins, that'swhat it was designed with.
Metzeler is not a cheap brand and these tyres perform very well

@@dedyarief996 yes that is the same weight as my old Yamaha FJ1200!!
Kok gk pake bahasa indonesia om, ane gk ngerti
Ada subtitles bro, jengan khawatir 😛
Time to cry, i can't bear that weight 🙂. Iam only 164 cm tall, my body weight just 70kg. How can i handle with that weight 😭
That's the reason I chose the Hunter Maverick 500cc, it's 40 kg lighter for the same power, and with a lower seat, to have both feet perfectly touching ground.
The Benelli Trk502x is way too heavy even for my 180cm and 85kg
Frame-nya mirip husqvarna nuda 900 r
True

"Several flaws" - Names just a few...
It was the point, this bike doesn't have too much flaws, more than 2 is several in my book, it should be the same in yours 😛🤣, i like that bike overall
Tlng bahasa translate yaaa ommm
barusan saya selasai translate, pilih cc Indonesian
In malaysia.they give box for free
Bule.tolong dikasih subtitle bahasa indonesia😁

Very poor build quality. The welds are horrible. Poor excuse for a bike.
Nobody's perfect
More details? What are some concrete examples? A comment like this is useless without more proof. Apart from free bashing.... I don't see the point.
@GregLroch for the defense of the TRK 502x it's not poor quality build, it's true that welds could be better, but the bike feels solid, and the look is great
