In the slicer there are setting that you can tweak, plus community made filliment changes g-codes that makes it least wasteful and faster. Also the purge block can 60% smaller and it works fine
Great timing on dropping A1 review, when recommend by Bambu to not be used. Gotta give them a big thumbs up though for their honesty 👍 #transparency #honesty #A1review
Bambu filament rolls have an rfid tag on them that tells the printer what color and material they are when loaded in an ams/ams lite. Also it's not a purge block, it's a prime tower, it's priming the nozzle with the color it's getting ready to print.
1:02:50 Bro you skipped the most interesting option in BambuStudio: The Flush options. We'd like to see how much purge/filament can be saved when printing flush into infill or supports.
After playing with it i'd say it cuts it down almost in half. I only say this cuz I had half the amount of rings made from recycling the waste after setting it up with bambu and community settings.
Great review and demo. I bought an a1 mini since the a1 is on recall, but I didn't buy the a1 mini combo, just the machine itself. I love it. As soon as the full size a1 comes back in stock after the recall I'm grabbing one, probably with the ams lite.
Mate I've watched alot of printer reviews and ur reviews and camera work are probably the best I've seen. We'll done. No one else focuses on the actual product itself the way u do. Thier all too interested in being in front of the camera which detracts from the product. Anyway keep up the great work
This is by far the best printer you can get for under $600 bar none. Bambu has set a high bar to other manufacturers and expect they are working overtime to compete.

GREAT video. I'm going to order this tonight and just watching lots of videos before I hit 'BUY'... Your video goes over a lot of detail and answers a lot of stupid questions I would have had like what hole to put the filament guide into - doesn't matter LOL Perfect answer. THUMBS UP!

Great video, thanks! Very interested in this printer with AMS. I wonder if a small guide/bracket could be printed that would prevent the cable from going behind the printer? Something with a curve going toward the back that might keep it set right.
@@bkkorner You can use any filament you want, the RFID is just for automatically setting up what's in the AMS. You can simply do this manually with everything else.
@@bkkorner in the menu you can select other filament and it works just fine, the fancy bambu rfid spools are a very nice option though, i've honestly just stuck with them. Im more focused on learning 3D modeling atm than messing with the printer so bambu's ecosystem is nice and simple.
The only reason to get AMS for me, was to be able to have PVA supports for some parts, to avoid having to divide and glue them. However, if that turns out too slow, I'll still probably divide and glue...
There were two brackets with FOUR screws holding the printer head arm that the instructions DID NOT tell me to remove. It kept failing calibration and a clicking noise until i figured out to remove the brackets. (You didn't have them in yours)

Awesome! I'm here after I watched the "Jared Owen Animations" blender 3d modeler breakdown of the Bambu A1 on youtube. Cool to see the physical product now that I saw how it works lol
any chance it would be worth it for you to make a video like this about the anycubic kobra 2 neo? there is almost no info about it and as a beginner and my first printer it was a bit of a big learning curve.
There's another advantage to the AMS.. Using up spools fully by having multiple of the same colours, so it uses up one and then simply continues printing with the next
When you do small parts with lots of color changes i was told print multi prints at once. like the Penguin print like 4 or 5 of them at once. fill your bed plate with it. your purge block should not get any bigger but you end up getting 5 or more prints. (I do not own a bambu yet, mine will be here today.) Was also thinking how do you turn the purge block into a model? i read you can do this but dont know how yet.
I've seen a few reviewers complain that the little tabs near the rear corners aren't high enough and they've had an issue where the build plate ends up on one of them and causes the plate to be raised and hit by the tip.
Yeah, I don't understand why ppl keep printing with frequent power outage and no UPS backup. This is computerized equipment so an UPS is absolutely essential.

There’s a recent recall on this printer. The bed cable can get damaged and cause a fire. They now recommend you don’t use this printer until they figure a solution out.
totally not true! there is a problem with bed cable for less that 2% of sold printers. They came up with the solution in matter of hours. They are sending cable strengthener to everyone who bought the printer free of charge, whoever dont want to wait for delivery, can print it yourself in less than 30mins. Its also worth to mention that it happens to users whos cable is bumping onto something....
They sent out an update today saying not to use the printers ("we kindly request that you cease using the A1 printer for now"). Some creators were also contacted directly to either remove videos or append comments saying that it is recommended that no one operate the A1 printer. Pretty definitive that they don't feel it is safe to operate until the problem is fully understood.
@@DebeliChris it totally is true. They stopped all advertising on the A1. There is an engineering flaw with the cable and bed connection. Without a cable clip the cable will eventually break.
