    Being a Texan I know the sun can cook your skin and I don’t know if you have Texas Death Fairies(mosquitoes) in AZ. Would be wise to include sunscreen and repellent. Great vid 👍

      I agree, I’m from Utah and it can get really hot and really cold. Southern Utah down by Arizona and Nevada can get scorching. I agree with the sunscreen and the the repellent! anyway have a good day bros!

      I know this comment is old but mosquitos aren't really that bad in AZ at all unless you're really close to standing water or near a riverbottom. Monsoon season kinda makes them a little worse depending on the amount of rain but nowhere near somewhere more tropical like parts of Texas.

    Nice little kit similar to mine bar the pistol. I have been through many bags in the last 40 years both military and civilian and can honestly say that 5:11 are head and shoulders above most other bags so much so I have two Rush 24's and one 12. Great video 🤠🇦🇺

    30 seconds in tactical backpack. 🤔

  • @redpill4225
    @redpill4225 2 роки тому +3

    I'll just say - the bag in this video is more of a 72 hour get home bag. Too much unnecessary stuff for 24 hours. But there is still some good and usable advice in this vid.
    If you have a large backpack stuffed full of things it will draw unwanted attention to yourself. As stated, you need water, get yourself a small CamelBak type pack. Or a small sling day pack. Most of the items listed in the vid can be stowed away in your vehicle and used as needed for the situation and season you are in. Make changes and adjustments as the weather changes. The circumstance being described here is a SHTF scenario. Most of us don't live in the Arizona desert. You might be trying to get home from your office that is 25-45 miles from home. If society is still functioning, STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE, otherwise get steppin'.
    Instead of multiple solar chargers, get a good portable/rechargeable battery to recharge your phone. Keep downloaded maps on the phone. Better yet have paper maps in the car - phone might not work at all.
    Things could start to get edgy real quick. If you don't want to carry a firearm then at least get some pepper spray to carry with you. Just my simple observations. Be smart, Travel light.

      Ya 2 mags is good. Chances of needing them is slim to none.

    • @andog6092
      @andog6092 Рік тому

      Better off with a revolver in this situation. A good 357 would be good to hunt with , and self defense. Plus if you are trained the way your suposed too, in a force on force encounter, you never police you mags. You drop them and leave them where they are, until the threat has been stopped. If you had to run and gun dropping your mags along the way and unable to go back, your screwed if you lose all.

    Important to have a good quality bag. Cheap bags from a big box store look fine, but shoulder straps are not very durable, especially when you are carrying any kind of weight. Shoulder straps tear loose, and you're left carrying the bag by hand.

    A lot of these get home bags are more like bugout bags. If shtf I’m getting home to my family which means I’m running. Since I’m running I don’t wanna be carrying a bunch of crap I really don’t need. Water, my gun, a knife, a flashlight and a snickers and I’m getting home fast. I’ve slept out in my backyard on a chair a few times lol so I don’t need a shelter and I’m def not stopping to cook anything. Just my opinion

    2. The wind up radio vs. the 2 way radio. Aside from the one being wind-up (in a pinch) and not needing batteries, isn't there some redundancy there? If I wanted to shave off some weight, I'm inclined to go toward the 2 way radios. Wouldn't they pull in all the weather and emergency freqs that the walkies do? Thoughts?

    3. The battery pack with solar charger. Have you ever re-charged the battery from scratch via solar? How long does it take to do so? I found many devices like this with great reviews but many of the negative comments state that the solar element of it is pretty much just worthless. I concluded that all the glowing reviews came from folks who charged it via AC adapter. Would love to hear of your experience with this particular model. If the solar cell is genuinely capable of replenishing the battery, I love to have some make/model details pretty please.

      I'm interested in the same thing. It sounds like the solar panels are of a better quality than the ones on the $20 survival radios. If nothing else, you can still charge them from ac & dc. 20-30,000 mah (miliamps per hour) is still darn good.

    • @sld2155
      @sld2155 10 місяців тому

      It takes forever to charge it to full on the solar panel (like days) However, you might get enough for a few extra calls or texts from it. The big thing is remember to keep the bank fully charged instead of throwing it in the trunk and forgetting about it.

    There's just to much stuff in that bag that's not needed. For one I don't use Band-Aids I use duck tape works just a good if not better just put Pine sap on the wound and duck tape and your good 2nd the water bottle you should be using a Grayl water bottle it's the best on the market and there's a few more things but you should watch Dave Canterbury and get more dirt time then you won't need that much stuff

      Sharing ideas is very important. However, in the lower desert, he'd have to walk a LONNNGGG way to find a pine tree. I use Gorilla/Duck tape also, it's great on blisters, patching tears, etc. I also agree that a lot of these EDC prep videos focus on the tactical (nothing wrong with that) but no so much on bushcraft. I believe in blending the two. My pack is set up with a LOT less, and to cover both. Basically, I am set for water, fire making, a crude shelter, gloves, 1 pair of wool socks, ESEE Izula 2 fixed blade knife (NONE BETTER) poncho, first aid kid. I personally choose to bring an edc pistol, as I see that as a requirement in this scenario, but we're all different.

    I’m not saying its unwise to have this bag. But 95 times out of 100 you are better to stay with your vehicle unless an immediate threat drives you from it.
    Most folks have no idea how far 20 miles is to walk in the hot sun. If your in the middle of nowhere they have no Idea how hard it is to spot a man alone vs a vehicle.
    Be smart and stay with the vehicle.
