Due to being a 3 cylinder the powerband is different, its longer. The dynamics of a 3 cylinder longer duration crank, is when it has spun up it delivers a natural power rotation much like an airplane propeller. Even with a bad counterbalance the engine will want to naturally spin at higher rev's. Put some forced induction on that engine and you will achieve good power gains with little effort.
funny enough the NA pre XP210 models make well north of 800 if you add a turbo. one extra cylinder really does help, those also come with APR studs from APR for the motor which has been around since 1999. bigger injectors up to 1200cc. and then alot of piggyback options available mostly from greddy. but nobodys going to care about those. couldnt understand why, post 2012 models were made in france and post 2014 models came with 25 extra spotwelds for rigidity as well as tons of chassis upgrades from cusco, tien, whiteline etc. i think it was underloved because it was not fatter but just FWD. its no heavier then pre 2012 models. whatever, just means it will handle better. doesnt need slip correction from an AWD system. power is instant instead of split between wheels. but whatever ill just wait till their 25 year importable. i hope i can snag an 8 speed auto version someday.
