I have a 20 something relative who is responsible for supporting his two children. He immaturely went on a wild “ fun” ride over rough terrain on a recreational vehicle. He flipped it and broke lots of stuff- could have died. He was unable to support his family for months and had to rely on his parents who still had younger kids at home to provide for. You are a father now. Please wear long pants, good heavy work boots and protective things when cutting firewood and using tools. Anything could happen in a second- and does. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I am making this comment with caring. Thanks for your great videos. This very old grandma loves them. God bless.
I love this Kalle , the water is so clear . Please know I care about you when I say this ... nobody splits firewood in their barefeet and bare legs !!! Only cityots do that !! 😊 You need to get some real work clothes, Carhart pants made of canvas and heavy leather workboots with vibram soles ! There's a reason they make them , to keep you safe from nails and splinters and axes that go sideways when you least expect it . PLEASE ❤❤
TOTALLY agree! I used to go barefoot all the time. Until I almost lost a foot to an axe when I was doing the same thing you were. Better to be safe than sorry.
We call it heat tape here in Canada. Just a tip, when it gets cold and you are worried about the pipes freezing, leave one tap open enough to drip a bit, it worked for us.
Hey Kalle, I work in water treatment and distribution in Canada. Regarding your concerns about freezing pipes; with your current set up you should be okay (at least in theory). We've had success with airation pipes (filled with pressurized air and atmospheric condensation) being above ground and exposed fully to the environment with insulation and a heat trace on the pipes in temperatures sometimes below -40 celcius. I know it's not the same as a full pipe of water, but you should almost certainly be okay since none of your plumbing is exposed. If you are worried on extremely cold days, just barely turn on your kitchen sink (maybe 1/8th) and just trickle it. Flowing water is much more resistant to freezing. Hope this helps in some way, congratulations again on your baby!
This is so exciting! It's a wonderful time in a property when you finally have running water in the house. I personally remember the first time we had running water. I didn't realize how much time I had spent hauling water. I know that it's been a process, but you should be proud. As far as a bathroom and winter heating, I have a idea that you might consider. And it may or not work for you. When I was growing up in Canada, we built a sauna, around the well house. And had a bathtub, and 2 wall showers inside as well. It kept the well from freezing, was cost effective, and gave us hot water for showers and baths. Now I don't know if this is a option for you, but it's something I think you should consider for the future. The property now has a hot water tank in the house, but this really saved us a lot of money and as the house didn't have central heating until later was a great way to fix many problems at once. I love your channel, thank you for sharing your hard work and time with us.
Looks like beautiful clean water.Untouched by industry and chemicals.Yes leave your tap on just a bit on a really cold night .The flow will keep it from freezing. But the heat tape should help.Subscibed to your knew channel.Cant wait to watch it.All the best and a happy Father's day to you.
On demand hot water heater. I REALLY want one. A 40 gallon hot water tank isn't big enough for our family of 5. Between washing dishes, showers and baths, it sucks the hot water up really fast. 😂😂😂 Happy Father's day! ❤
YAY!! Finally! I am so happy for you, Kalle. I know you, Christina and your son will soon be living in a cabin that is completely comfortable for your family (i.e., not only running water, but also hot water on demand and heat in the wintertime). You do know that if you need anything, all you have to do is ask, right? Your youtube family is here for you, willing and able to help! :)
Your experience tasting water from the mountain for the first time is truly magical. It reflects your deep connection with nature and appreciation for life's purest joys. May this be just the beginning of many wonderful moments. And I am Floating Village Life.
You should be able to turn off the pressure just with that Grundfos controller, so when you leave, you turn that off and then run the water in the cabin until the pressure vessel is empty. Should give you peace of mind when you're away from the cabin.
Hi Kalle!👋 I'm so excited for you and your little family to be able to finally get running water to the cabin 💙 I know y'all have been through a LOT and I've donated several times when I could hoping it would make a difference, and seeing this just makes my heart so happy for y'all! 💗I can't wait to see all the future adventures you will have with Christine and your sweet little baby boy! 💙👣 And cannot wait until y'all reveal that precious baby's name and sweet little face 💞
Kale You are amazing! Learn all about your house (plumbing and electrical) and you will know what is going on and you can fix it yourself ! Save money! You are going to do fine and I am so proud of you !As a mom I have three sons and they are learning about there house as well! Be happy and enjoy your little family! Stay close to Our Lord first !🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️
If I could only have that kind of nature and surroundings around me😊. So beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Kalle, you can build yourself a store room to put all your wood and stuff....like a workshop. Then nothing will be in the way and everything will be out of sight.😊
The cabin is so picturesque. Everything is coming together nicely. When you have all the essentials done, you should build a small dock at the edge of the pond.
I love it. It is so awesome! It looks like you are rejuvenating and renewing your energy. Water is so important for our human health and your water is extra special.
Dear Kallie. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! ♥️ The clarity of the water looks amazing & looks so refreshing! Your little guest house looks so cute since it is cleaned up. Congratulations on the running water for you and your family 😊
if you think you are going to be worried while being away from home that something could happen with your water or pipes, i suggest you should consider getting a few wireless aqua/water detection sensors and place them in key locations like under your sink. They are rather cheap nowadays and pretty easy to setup and configure yourself for your needs. Most people who use them have them set up to send out alerts to their cellphones. You can even configure them to shut down your pumping equipment. Cool channel you got and i hope to see more videos from you!
Beautiful water, sacred water which sustains our bodies and that of our animal companions. Love your Pine and Creeks channel, so calming and inspiring!
Amazing energies.... I'm sure that you will find good people to house sit and dog sit when you are on vacation. People would live to retreat in your cabin...❤
Hello Kalle, beautiful nature scenes on the beginning, love it. Oh wow, what a frustration with the plumbing, having water 💦 gashing into your kitchen. But I'm glad it's fixed..thank God😊❤😊and now you have a water heater too. Things are falling in place. I just can see Christine smile. Thanks for another great video Kalle. Best wishes from Texas ❤❤
@@KalleFlodin my partner and i started our lives a new in america. 4 years ago i left istanbul (although i am american) and he left samoa and now we have our fourth child coming soon. we do not live rurally but building our lives from nothing, to what we have now feels like what you are doing. I hope you find building your family and your lives together as a couple as rewarding as we do. It would have been easier if we had had it all to begin with but it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying. It's the struggle that makes the journey worth while.
Your pipes will freeze. You need to wrap and place electrical heaters to your pipes. Don't freeze pipes. Never shut them off with your winters. Had pipes freeze it's a nightmare
I second this. It will happen, no doubt. You have to fix it now, before the winter @KalleFlodin . There are attachments you can buy so the electrical heating cord goes inside the water pipe, that you can add from inside the kitchen under the sink.
One trick we use in in cold winter is to have the water tap running all the time, have it drip water, it needs only little bit of running water to not freeze. Moving water has tough time to freeze.
Hi Kalle! CONGRATULATIONS on your new water access and Happy Father’s Day from Pennsylvania! We just had a copper pipe develop a pinball leak that grew and leaked from the bathroom into kitchen cabinets! Praying there is no mold and can be fixed!
Congratulations Kalle . Now that you are a dad, it will simplify your life. Happy Father’s Day from CA ! I have always loved your rural oasis in the forest. The color of your cabin, that pretty blue on the outside. I remember your intention to live off grid. Life brings change and it sure has done so for you and Christine. Much love from CA
Hi there ! Thank you for this beautiful video! Humbling that you aren't sharing your life with us .🙏 I lived without running water so I know the magic of a tap . Your editing is getting more and more gorgeous 👌
I'm so glad that you cleaned up the mess around the guest cabin. As a good Steward of such a beautiful land there should be no areas of messiness. It takes away from the beauty!
I am curious... having a pond just in front of your house, does the mosquitos' presence overwhelming in the summer?!?!?!? Congratulation, one step more into a cosy home!!! Eager to see Christine's reaction to the running water!!! 👌💖💫
Hei! I have my water pipes quite less deep than yours and yes I have that electric heating cable “just in case”, but! Never ever needed. And yes winters are here sometimes lower than -30*C. Just trying to give you some optimism . Sorry for all the little fails you experienced while installing it. Still so happy for you guys! Thanks for sharing!
You could use a shed for tools, lumber and random things...did you find out what the clay pipe underground was for? old water line maybe? Hello from AZ😎
Kalle -- Congrats on this Big Accomplishment. Well done! Sorry about your brief interior fountain experience. Yes, that sort of experience makes one heart stop -- briefly, thankfully. You're smart to think ahead about pipes potentially breaking, freezing, etc. One question: Is your pond bigger than it used to be? It looks very pretty. Best from the USA.
🎉Bravo! But I have a question? In Sweden, when people dig a borehole or well, do they need government permission? And do you need to pay for it? Thank you... Good health to everyone...
Definitely wrap the pipes in any areas you can get to them with lagging... Burst pipes are no fun, especially in winter! And as others have said...a little safety gear around sharp objects. You need your eyes, toes and blood :)

Yes, and cabinet doors opened as well, although he doesn’t have that worry, I suppose.
Wow, what a crazy feeling it must be for you to now open the tap and actually have water come out 🙏🏻😁 congrats ☺️
It's both crazy and amazing! 😃 Thank you ❤
Kalle if you don’t mind me saying, chopping wood barefoot is an accident waiting to happen. I usually wear those safety shoes with metal tips.
