Thanks Joseph ,I feel like an old dog learning new tricks. Off to try some nettle and will always look at primroses, not just as food from now on but also the colour of an old ladies bathroom. You have a way with words my friend .
😂 Thankyou Dave, inspired by the colour of the bathroom in Ventnor I’m painting at the moment. The old lady has chosen a colour that resembles a tin of custard haha
Great video. Unfortunately the Sun paper is reportedly saying more cold weather on the way really hope not as the blossom will suffer. I pick nettle heads and dry them out and grind them to powder to use all year round in food I prepare even pizza . The female seeds are safe to harvest in Autumn and I use them too. Fresh nettle leaves taste lovely cooked in butter and lemon juice taste like spinach.
The Sun likes to catastrophize when it comes to the weather in my opinion, we’ll have to wait and see! Yeah nettle seeds are fantastic, we put them in oat breakfast bars. They give you a real boost. Glad you’re enjoying the videos ☺️
Welcome to the party Hayden! Just had a look at your channel, can’t wait to get stuck into some of those cooking videos. Very jealous of your little Optimus stove 🔥
@@Fieldstudy_ Thanks, I hope you enjoy them! I've got some more coming up soon! The Optimus stove was my restoration project during the first lockdown. Awesome stove to take on outings. 🙌
Super informative video, thank you! Spring has arrived in the Basque Country too I'm pleased to say. Nettles are on the menu for this week for sure but I'm a little uncertain about taking you up on tbe challenge of eating them raw😂😂. Will keep you posted.
I’ll be interested to hear what you think! The Turkish salad I was going on about is called Isirgan salatasi if you wanted to try it out - Alan Bergo (aka Forager Chef) has an excellent video here on UA-cam on how to prepare it 🌱 Hope you and the goats have a good week 😊
Like the colour of an old lady's bathroom... made me chuckle 🙂
Haha I’m glad
I feel like your videos are really finding their form, this was such a relaxing watch once again but I did also learn something new
Thankyou! Glad you’re enjoying them, I do try to improve things week on week 😀
You're right! Make time!! 💚
Glad you agree! Also trying to make time in my week to start putting out more videos 🤞

Cool thank you - seen the red dead nettle all over here - i did not know what they even were till this video so thank you very much!!!
No worries! Make sure to double check your ID with another source before eating anything ☺️
Hi Joseph, any good recipe links for using nettles as a rennet substitute for home made cheese? Thanks! 😊
I dry nettles in the oven and then I take about a tablespoon and use them in thin pancakes.
Lovely! My girlfriend makes an amazing nettle risotto with dried nettle as well. Incredible versatile and nutritious 😋
The strange moss is actually a lichen, not sure of the variety but it is certainly a lichen.
Yeah for sure, been looking around for a match and I think it might be Cladonia coniocraea?

Hello I am looking for chaff flower(achyranthes) plants. Do you know where is it in UK?
Hello! I can’t find any records of it being sighted wild in the UK, why are you looking for it?
