You don’t have to be a genius to figure out why they didn’t have the success they wanted. Beautiful and talented women, but the name sounded too wholesome, like a gospel group name. There was no room for Cherish, and they didn’t have the crossover appeal needed to stay relevant when acts like NeYo and Justin Timberlake came along and began fusing R & B with Pop. Usher made the transition easily because he was ahead of the game. But Cherish was an R & B group that had struggled to keep its foot in the door even in that genre.
