The worst trainee is the one who pretends to know the jobs he's never had before and does stuff with out asking first. While in training should be the best time to ask the "dumb" questions until you get the hang of your work.
@Lichmourne yea it’s too bad coworkers/employers look down on ppl who ask “dumb” questions. On my first day working at a job when I was 16 my two managers said I had no common sense because I didn’t know what car I had to take the food out to (I worked at McDonalds) and they later called me stupid. It’s like that almost everywhere too, even at schools. Dumb questions make ppl think you’re dumb and for some reason, or at least where I live, if you ask dumb questions you either won’t get hired or you’ll get fired.

I am amazed at this man’s ability to fold the cones perfectly like that with both hands. As someone who worked at cold stone, those waffles are hot af and hard to touch and get to cool right
@Forever Changed if what you're Saying is accurate, the person would in fact have more accidents because the lack of sensation and burn a nerve is really a Big problem so she|he would have an entire body damage Even the burn was in the fingers
@Forever Changed is senseless, Saying that hold a tiny bread is enough to burn a nerve when in case this happens the hold hand would be affected, a nerve injury can be dangerous and folding cones is not that hard, You may be a kid but at least try to Make sense
@Forever Changed just investigate how nerves function, if You want to pretend that is not about calluses but a nerve burn is fine, but is totally the opposite and the way You wrote the comment Make You see like someone immature, i don't believe that you're an adult that would be cringe
When I was 15 I got a job as an "intern" at a mom and pop shop bakery, they didn't pay me is all that meant, I worked there for a year and a half before they started to pay me, I wasn't going to school so I really had nothing better to do, plus it was fun and I got to learn how to make cakes and stuff. The owner was a horrible person and yelled at me almost daily for messing things up or not paying attention, after about four years of me working the owner sold the place to an absolute sweetheart and she's become a great friend to me. I left the bakery after five years and went to work at a local pizza restaurant trying to become a manager so I could eventually have enough experience to open my own bakery, I worked there for a year and two months and after many asks they wouldn't give me the management job. So I left that place and ended up getting a job at one of the nicest and highest end steakhouses in america here in cali, they gave me a manager position in 7 months. I went on to helping them open back up through lockdown and they absolutely loved and appreciated my efforts. About July of 2020 the new owner of the bakery called me and said she was going to open up a second location for the bakery I used to work at, so I went back to my old stomping grounds and we open in two weeks ❤️
Reading your years of experience gives me such thrills. Can't imagine those many hours of pain, growth and friendships. :') Being probably a million kilometers away and I don't know you but, I'm so happy for you! All the best for your future endeavours. 😊
Pretty sure it's illegal to have someone work for you and not pay them. And you got to be some kind of special breed of asshole to yell at someone who is offering you free labor.
I had a similar experience with my first ever job- not only did I get nervous and ask silly questions too but it was a girly café made up of girls who would bitch about customers who were even the least bit fussy. One can only imagine what they were saying behind my back. They let me go after my trial period ended without warning, having taught me next to nothing about how to make coffees or prepare certain items like they said they would. They didn’t even tell me I was doing a ‘bad job’ even when I’d ask “is this okay?” so I had no idea they weren’t satisfied with me until they let me go. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had made their minds up about me early on. Now when I train up new people in my current job I make a point to be patient and honest with them and to give them the benefit of the doubt as a new job anywhere can be quite intimidating at first. We’re all capable of being good at our job once taught and applied enough times, and I wish every employer would understand that.
exactly this! When I started my job 3 years ago at 16 nobody really tried to talk to me or made an effort to get to know me while working (I work at a place where working together is kinda a big deal otherwise it will go to shit real fast haha). A year ago, during summer when Corona hit really hard in my country and we still had to work people really got to know me and I got to know them, I really made friends at work, which meant that the working together part also went a lot better. Now, every time someone new comes in, I always make an effort to ask their names and just chat with them. So they have at least 1 person to fall back to when something isn’t working out, or when they don’t know what to do. Because to be brutally honest, I would have killed for that experience when I started working here as my first job at 16.
My last boss expected a lot from me and never corrected any of my mistakes. One day she just send me an audio of 8 minutes saying why she thought I wouldn't last anywhere because I didn't know nothing and that still haunting me till today. I'm working on it, I just want to have a job now and live my life peacefully.
I’m sorry that happened to you. In my opinion (anyone can respectfully disagree), I hope one day she can understand that it’s part of being human to make mistakes and not know things right away. It doesn’t necessarily mean someone won’t last anywhere.
Nobody gonna talk about how efficient this man is, him and his co-worker chucking ice cream from one to another and by the time he was done the waffle cones were had just finished. Not to mention how satisfying this video was. But I'm glad you got this job back since you seem to really enjoy it. Edit: Really surprised how many likes this got, thx
I get it , my mum is the only reason I wake up anymore I wish I killed myself last year instead of spending 6 months in the hospital on suicide watch...
When I was 17 I worked my first job at Burger King... I constantly got yelled at by my manager and co workers for slowing things down, not knowing how to change the sink water, messing up sandwiches etc. I would come home every night stressed out and there were moments where I’ve thought of crying and walking out of the job. It took a while for me to finally adapt but when I did, it was so worth not giving up. I used to hear “Brandon! When will you get this right” to “hey Brandon could you stay an extra hour?” So whatever you’re going through, especially as a teenage employee, just know it’ll get better!!!
It really doesn't sound worth not giving up, unless your like the manager now. lol bet you recieved 0 praise when you stopped fucking things up too, i would have for sure quit for somewhere else sounds awful and not worth it.
Is no one gonna talk about the fact he just folded two cones...SIMULTANEOUSLY??!!? You're a new kind of incredible - not just for the cones - but you genuinely brighten up my day. Keep up the great work!!
the way you're effortlessly throwing those ball of ice cream is giving me so much anxiety, I'm about to cry 😭😩 Edit: yes, it is indeed pretty cool! But please re-read my comment again before you accuse me of being a "#hatter", a dummy and slapping me in the face with "like u can do better" like, bruh at what part did I say that "I can"!? Shawty, I described what he did as "effortlessly" that's the same as "doing something cool"! If I were to do what he did it would require me a lot of effort because that's hella hard but he managed to do it "effortlessly". If my English was confusing, my apologies as English is not my mother tongue. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
Had a job as a waitress at 16 and I was the exact same. I then realized once I had left that job and worked somewhere else that it wasn’t just me being stressed that was making the job so difficult, it was also my boss and the people around me. My boss would yell at me and treat me like a child, and while I was the youngest employee, you shouldn’t belittle your employees like that. The yelling only added to my stress to the point that I would get sick at work and need to go home (because a customer isn’t going to want a sick person handling their food) Long story short, I was a nervous person with a shit boss in a stressful work environment... I’m glad I don’t work there anymore
as a chef of 8 years, I've trained a few apprentices and the one thing I never get tired of is them asking questions. No matter how dumb it might be, id rather them ask than them not know.
I genuinely wish I know more people like you. I'm generally super anxious to ask questions because of super strict people and end up just giving up on my tasks.
@@instantregret7858 never be afraid to ask. The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life. Confucius Words to live by. Its not you that has a attitude problem. Its other people. Stand up straight and lift your head. Have pride in what ever you do and always walk forward with confidence. Even if you don't feel like you can.
I was apprentice once, when I needed to - in order to successfully finish my school and I was that one trainee who knew a lot about things but would ask anyway, even if it's the most simple thing Luckily, chef at that restaurant never got tired of it too, which I'm soooo thankful for! We need more chefs like you, I swear
That waffle alarm at the end gave me the little existential "Am I having a dream, and this is the sound of my alarm clock getting into my subconscious and about to wake me up?" moment.
I was also fired from two jobs for the same reason. Asked a lot of questions, people got annoyed with me haha. About a year later of being unemployed, I'm working at a care home, where I have a few different positions that I cover for. My boss really likes me, and I like my boss. I even got a higher starting wage than my previous jobs, and a raise after that for working there about 5 months. So life does get better sometimes. I thought I was so useless but just do your best and you'll be fine 😌 just because life sucks now, it doesn't always mean that you won't get better. Sometimes it's not even you that is the problem (just a reminder for all you who are socially anxious)
I think asking questions shows that the employee wants to do good and I see it as taking an interest in your job and nothing is wrong with that. Sometimes I ask questions, already knowing the answer, just to keep a conversation going to avoid that awkward silence. I guess asking where a sink drain plug is is a little much tho lol. I'd attribute it to being nervous and if a kid is the employee it's only natural theyd be nervous and make some dumb mistakes and even ask silly questions but this is how they learn.

I am amazed at this man’s ability to fold the cones perfectly like that with both hands. As someone who worked at cold stone, those waffles are hot af and hard to touch and get to cool right
If you worked there for 10 years, you'd get the calluses to do it. Goals.

Good for u not letting that manager stop you! Very inspiring. Nice gold bracelet btw and voice very calming
What a beautiful story, congrats 🎉👏
Reading your years of experience gives me such thrills. Can't imagine those many hours of pain, growth and friendships. :') Being probably a million kilometers away and I don't know you but, I'm so happy for you! All the best for your future endeavours. 😊
Pretty sure it's illegal to have someone work for you and not pay them.
And you got to be some kind of special breed of asshole to yell at someone who is offering you free labor.

This guy is an older definition of me. I'm always nervous and I'm scared to mess things up and I end up messing things up
Yeah like me
It’s ok Pat just talk to spongebob about it. After all he is ur best friend
Aye same.

Your first mistake was having your boss in WhatsApp and communicating that way.
In my country we use wsp a lot and many of us for work. But respect shouldn't be forgotten. That's my opinion.
I’m sorry that happened to you. In my opinion (anyone can respectfully disagree), I hope one day she can understand that it’s part of being human to make mistakes and not know things right away. It doesn’t necessarily mean someone won’t last anywhere.

💯 awesome Brandon! Love the encouragement
It really doesn't sound worth not giving up, unless your like the manager now. lol bet you recieved 0 praise when you stopped fucking things up too, i would have for sure quit for somewhere else sounds awful and not worth it.

The yelling only added to my stress to the point that I would get sick at work and need to go home (because a customer isn’t going to want a sick person handling their food)
Long story short, I was a nervous person with a shit boss in a stressful work environment... I’m glad I don’t work there anymore

This is another worldly entity being witness. This man had no problem whatsoever catching those ice cream scoops.
Good right on comments
I think asking questions shows that the employee wants to do good and I see it as taking an interest in your job and nothing is wrong with that.
Sometimes I ask questions, already knowing the answer, just to keep a conversation going to avoid that awkward silence. I guess asking where a sink drain plug is is a little much tho lol. I'd attribute it to being nervous and if a kid is the employee it's only natural theyd be nervous and make some dumb mistakes and even ask silly questions but this is how they learn.
Piss on them...I did too
