Yeah bow knights helps pretty significantly with lots of his problems imo. Usually grab sol, go bow Knight, and then sometimes back to hero for the Iago chapter.
@@lystia this was originally blue cosmic’s vid but she never fuckin uploaded it so I finally asked her whether she’d be willing to give me the vod and she said yeah
While it does help a lot, Dual Club Corrin can also just win you that map, too. And a physical or magical based Corrin can use that pretty easily with Wyvern or Malig.
@@EZog58 I'm said it because I want that silence rod behind that trap. It is admittedly useful in chapter 26's Iago and the maid's status storm or somewhat helpful in the endgame
You say it because of shurikenbreaker? I've done it without it. With a super Ophelia with some staff support to freeze and/or entrap the lunge automatons you can do that side. Last time i played i did the other side with sol ninja Silas with Camilla marriage and Soleil who was also a Sol Ninja both without shurikenbreaker. Also Hero Xander did some good combat there. So as you can see i opened the doors to Ryoma without having a unit into bow knight or getting shurikenbreaker into any of my units. You don't need bow knight to achieve that.
21:29 I do wish you guys talked about Generic Bow knights as well, I enjoyed the discussion but as with the Soleil example earlier, investment into any unit is usually going to turn out well Of all generic classes, Bow knight would be one of my top tier picks as well, probably Adventures reclassed for that Mag stat +growth, for their reliability They might not get damage stacking (outside of Mercenary/Hero promotes & possibly some special generic captures) or flight, but Rally skill, bows, possible +1 mov/lucky 7, it would be weird to not have at least 1 I’m gonna continue thinking about Generics as you guys tier, I’m very interested if your guy’s list is similar to my own
I think mixed growth promoted classes are especially good if you cap them since ALL their stats round out making them especially good. Dark knight and oni chieftain are prob the best examples I can think of
I think Bow Knight just has a really good kit within Fates. Transitioning from Awakening, where it bizarrely had Bow Breaker instead of Tomebreaker (I think Sorcerer and Bow Knight should have swapped their breaker skill). Fates gave Bow Knight the most useful Breaker skills because of how dangerous/evasive Ninjas are. Plus, in Conquest, in particular, where hit rates are rather shakey, the Rally Skill can be rather useful if it offers nothing else. Depending on which class you come from, having +1 Movement or Strong Riposte is nice. But if we can temporarily go to Adventurer, Pass would be amazing for mage targeting, and Lucky Seven is a nice additive. Alternatively, if from Mercenary, Axebreaker can be insanely useful against late game Berserkers and Sol helps with keeping alive. Easily keeping two Bow Knighte that serve entirely different purposes for the team. Helping eliminate bigger threats. Though I understand the emphasis on Flyers like Kenshi Knight or Malig Knight. But there are not a lot of units that have access to Kenshi Knight (Just Selena and Mozu, plus friendship seals). Though Kenshi Knight is great, it is mainly good against other fliers but not much else. Only an already good unit can use this class effectively. Malig Knight is wonderful, skills and kit available. However, Malig Knight serves an entirely different niche than Bow Knight, which I think makes comparison a moot point.
I am in Nohr Noble because I married Jakob for experience, my Heart Seal is Wyvern, which doesn't have sword access, and it's Endgame and I don't feel comfortable taking on Takumi without the Yato. I am also briefly in Nohr Noble because I am a Draconic Hex Believer and I don't have a problem delaying Strength +2, Lunge, and Savage Blow for 3-5 levels even though maybe I should, idk. I'm coming out of Corrin Training Map at promoted level 2 or 3, they're getting 4 naturally, I can get them to 5 on Kana Paralogue and start Maligging right before Ninja Hell. I'm more confident in the "I want Corrin to kill Takumi" area.
I feel like Nohr Noble deserves a little more credit than D tier, but admittedly I'm still relatively new to Conquest. I feel like it probably matches the significant contributions that Dark Knight offers with the Horse Spirit, but then it also has better innate speed. Dark Knight has superior movement, but with all the movement tech available in Fates, how much does that really matter? I do think that you want to get out of the Nohr Noble line to collect more skills, but I feel like that's the case for most classes. And to be clear, I don't think Nohr Noble is better than Dark Knight, and it is less available, but I think the comparisons are worth looking closer at than just D-Tier. But I'll have to dig a little deeper on my end too
I think penalizing classes that need magic is kind of silly. Especially if you're going to make an argument for shining bow knight. Its not a unit tier list, classes should be rated based on their ceilings based in what units are available across the board or not at all. Like with bow knight I'm suprised you didn’t bring up Xander who's probably the best bow knight user in the game since he can get sol+cav skills+siegfried, the class also fixes his speed.
I started a new conquest run bc of you lagspike. I didnt believe you when you said bowknight felicia would cook early game. I was wrong and ch10 was a breeze with her. bowknight SS tier
Tbh I never use Malig. Beruka and Selena really want the beastkillers to trivialize some of the more annoying mid-lategame maps, and Elise is kind of annoying to train up. I haven't tried Corrin marriage, but the servants prob have the stats to make good Maligs.
Why is he talking about different the diversity of bow knight options to call it busted when he should be talking about what the class actually adds to these diverse units?
I genuinely don't understand why people don't discuss or even consider using some of the dlc classes in the year 2024. It's not even inaccessible anymore because, let's not kid ourselves, everyone plays these games on citra anyway. We're all here watching a multiple hour long tier list video; we want to discuss and think about classes. Nearly a decade in, why aren't we at least slightly exploring the dlc and how to play with it without disrupting the balance of the maingame? I don't honestly feel like they're very gamebreaking in the first place. Their biggest advantage is that you don't need to skip level ups if you early promote, but if you play with the personal restriction that you cannot use a dlc item until you've used a master seal, this balance issue is made up for. People are already happy to funnel Odin with nosferatu and stat boosters all the way from the start, trivializing much of the game with a nearly perfect enemy phase tank. Are you really having more fun than you would trying out dark flier nyx? Now, I can understand not wanting to use a few of the amiibo classes. Vanguard is just a hero with a different skill learnset, lodestar and great lord are uninspiring. Grandmaster is at least slightly interesting as a hybrid class and rally spectrum provider (which could arguably even be a little too good again). You also only get one of each of lodestar and great lord, former of which can be used to give speedtaker to one of your units. This skill is very fun to plan around, and I wish more people would allow themselves to try it. Not to mention the other taker skills; defensetaker is so weird and unique in conquest, where enemies begin to ignore you if they can't damage you, although +10 defensives can get out of hand. Dark flier is also an interesting option to me because more than anything, it can be used to fix Nyx and/or Peri, without really being an upgrade for any of the better units, except arguably Leo and Niles. Notably, dark flier does not have access to nosferatu, which keeps it a more fun player phase class. It also has rally movement. Yes it's quite strong, but it's also very fun. End of the day it's just one movement, and you didn't disallow stride in your fe3h playthrough either. The remainder of the classes powercreep existing classes in their roles. Dread fighter is fun, but it cuts into the niche of master ninja as a mage killer. It can be fun earlygame before you get your first ninja, but in this use-case, yes, it is too strong. Ignoring warp, witch is also a more minmaxed dark mage, which can be fun, and even slightly difficult to work with in conquest at times. You essentially turn anybody into elise/nyx. That's not so bad to be honest. But with warp... yeah fair enough, ban it. Finally, ballistician is fun. I've tried it, it doesn't fit in with the design of conquest, but it doesn't break it either. If you manage to get a setsuna's yumi somehow, ballistician turns into a very weird debuffer aoe class. In conclusion: Please try at least dark flier in your runs, it's fun. Speedtaker, rally spectrum, warpless witch, and mayyybe dread fighter will also make your experience different, and I think to many people, more fun. The conquest runners community is so amazingly passionate that they're still not tired of the base game. It's wild. One day we'll be bored and we'll realize that the path bonuses are right there. If we can collectively get over the dlc stigma, there's a whole new meta to develop and discuss.
@@lsrrr3857 Oh, you do. If you're savvy enough to set up an emulator and find the rom, you'll be able to find the dlc too. Plus, the path bonuses are pre-unlocked in the 'fire emblem fates special edition', which is the one that has all the 3 routes unlocked by default. That already gets you the ebon wings and dread scrolls, as well as stat boosters and boots you can just not claim. If you just got the conquest rom you can easily transfer your saves to that version without any compatibility issues. But the dlc classes are already in the game by default, it's just the chapters that need to be installed in dlc. This means that you can use a save editor like feftwiddler to just add the witch's mark and/or sighting lens to your game directly. I feel like doing it this way is actually better than doing the chapters, as otherwise you can use them to grind supports for free. Have fun.
